      All excellent pieces Ray. Well done. Don't check my WhatsApp much. Beautiful grain pattern. Do love a spalted wood. Will add them to our feedback page, more of a slideshow kind of thing. Thanks for the photos. Keep up the good work. Happy turning.

    Great video again. The pattern does look better crossgrain i agree there. Would there be any chance sometime of showing us how to hollow out a vase that has a smaller opening with both traditional and carbide tools thanks.

      I did some bud vases recently. When I get some wood that is suitable, I will do another.

      @@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 I was thinking more the rounded type vase where you really have to undercut inside rather than bud vase if you know the kind

      @@waynehardy6955 Hollow form. I did a Laburnum Hollow Form before but when I get a decent bit of wood for it, I'll do a vase (hollow form one).

    Glenn, I found that when using the spindle roughing gouge if I raise the tool rest way above the center of the turning and present the gouge with the handle raised and bevel rubbing I can get a very fine finish. Is there a danger in doing that?

    • @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308
      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  4 місяці тому

      If you're cutting above centre, then it shouldn't give you any problems. If it works then keep doing it.

    Just wondering what speed you normally turn at it look like at one point 2500 rpm

    • @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308
      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  День тому

      I turn at the fastest speed I can safely turn at. I don't like to give speeds out, you have to turn to your ability. There are no set speeds. Every piece of wood is different. Just take care and turn safely.
