This is a city commuter vehicle. It's not really meant for performance, it's meant to get you around urban surroundings efficiently. Yes, it's small, but it looks like it would be a piece of cake to park in the city, too.
This car is perfect for like a young couple with one kid living in a condo. It's cheap, big enough to put diapers and strollers, Small enough to park in a that one car garage space. And you won't feel like you are missing out on the Technology. And if you get this model in two year it'll be a steal cause the price will drop to about 15-18,000 Cnet style.
Every car made from now on should come standard with cruise control. You shouldn't have to upgrade on a trim level for it. There are car made 10 years ago that has cruise control.
Josh Mckinnley I do a lot of highway driving, but I get what you're saying, because I never use it in the city, besides , Cruise control doesn't normally work unless you're 25 mph or more
Wish we read this before we purchased 2016. Dumbest thing ever created a car with no cruise control. Just want a radio that plays!!! Stupid back up camera, who cares... Anyone want a brand new 2016 Trax??? First brand new car ever purchased, had it for 3 weeks and cant wait to get rid of it. Worst move ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seems like it's not a bad car, it just doesn't look the best. Driving dynamics don't really matter anyway when you buy a crossover at this price point.
This is basically the result of General Motors buying out Daewoo, which was who built the Aveo which Chevy would rebrand as its own. This car just screams buy a Rav4 since the price is comparable for similar features, has a larger second row, is more reliable, has better leg room, and has a center console (which the trax lacks altogether). Not to mention a more powerful engine; that 1.4 is tragic at best.
I'm having a problem with acceleration. I have a "turbo" one, but it's like it doesn't accelerate, it just drags. If you don't hit the gas hard the first time, you'll be dragging a$$ the entire drive. But when you do accelerate, it takes off like a rocket. But the minute you slow down, it will not take off the same way again and will drag. Am I doing something wrong? I'll have the gas pedal on the floor and it drags a$$ and even sometimes slows down. I couldn't get it above 25 mph going up a small inclined hill.
Amanda M Turbos have a lot of power when you're in the right gear and rpm range, usually in the mid 2000s. If your car can shift, I'd suggest using lower gears when climbing a hill.
I liked ass up until the front it kinda reminds me of the old aveo hey chevy I thought your were putting ugly behind you?....although to be fair give them credit for the interior GM has really stepped up their game there as well as outside with all their cars exactly except the trax change the front end before its first year and I'll be happy
Seth Porter It's up to the manufacturer to decide which vehicle and which trim they want to give the reviewer. I doubt CNET had anything to do with the car.

Chevy - Hello?
2007 - Is this Chevy ?
Chevy - Yes who is this ?
2007 - This the year 2007 we want our car back.
Love my trax it's fast enough, big enough the gas is great and it's quiet. I have a AWD and it's amazing never got stuck.
thank you brian for the review

"Where did the engine go? Ah, here it is." lol
Nice package Cooley!!
For me personally, Cruise Control isn't really that big of a deal. I live in a big city though, so I never need it.
Josh Mckinnley I do a lot of highway driving, but I get what you're saying, because I never use it in the city, besides , Cruise control doesn't normally work unless you're 25 mph or more
Bobo was a great help to me a 100parsent service for me
Sad that Chevrolet's only good looking car is their Corvette.
You mean the Silverado? BTW the corvette is ugly.
Well, the Silverado and Corvette. In my opinion anyway :p.
Moises Aguilera What's wrong with the Cruze?
Moises Aguilera The impala?
Moises Aguilera What about the SS? I think its Chevys best looking Car + The Tahoe looks ok.
So you mean to tell me that this thing has all that tech standard and then you have upgrade to an LT model for cruise control??

Alex Jacobson lmaooo
It costs like $150-200 dollars to buy a steering wheel with cruise and swap it in people do it with Sonics all the time

Let's talk about the Trax engine. Where did it go? lol
I enjoyed the review, I would want more legroom and fog lights.
So much for an unbiased review
I hope someone comes out with a sub-compact SUV.
looks 2005

Rather get a accord sport which looks sexy and gets better mpg. It also has true paddle shifters and more hp and torque.
Ibraheem Productions yes a 6 speed automatic, cvt, and the 6 speed manual
Mitul Jariwala That's a completely different type of vehicle..
We have a 2015 Trax we love it but here lately been having
Some minor problems
Same here, I've had mine for a year. Minor problems but mothing too big to complain about. It's nice and convenient for my 2 children and I.
Why is cruise an optional feature but the head unit is standard?
Some say Cooley's replacing Clarkson. All we know is, that'll be so cool... ley.
Does it's ignition switch work?

Is this car based off of the Captiva? and BTW this car is HIDEOUS!
MrVnick1 Chevy Sonic, but yeah it looks like a captiva haha
I saw one pulling out of a Chevrolet dealer and thought it was a Captiva
MrVnick1 No, It´s bassed on the Opel Mokka...witch is based on a Opel Corsa.. SO there you go.

Looks like Chevy design team was on vacation.
Did anyone else spot the "hidden Mickey"?
Does it have cruis control?
This car is VERY Sonic esk, but the Sonic is WAY nicer IMO.
Andrew Butler it is lmaoooo
what no more Sonic?
Why would CNET be reviewing the base model and not a top teir Trax?
Seth Porter It's up to the manufacturer to decide which vehicle and which trim they want to give the reviewer. I doubt CNET had anything to do with the car.
I think this was a mid-level, but possibly to advertise the low starting price
Made to last less than 2 years
It looks like a 2007 model. Really Chevy
Brain what car do you drive ?
Prasanth Arasu He has a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria station wagon, a 67 Mercury Cougar and I think he has a 2000s crown Victoria too
