I’ll admit I was part of the outrage mob. But I’m thoroughly impressed to see this. I would never have believed you could clean something that well without tearing it apart. I’m sure BG is happy you did this as well. Thank you for always going the extra mile for your viewers. I’d say it was cool enough to take apart.
I reused the valve cover gasket I had very recently installed on my 95 Neon when I had to get the proper 1 year only spark plug hole gaskets for the hemi style spark plug tubes at the top. The gasket was silicon with the metal spacers on each of the mounting holes. It wasn't crushed yet and didn't leak afterwards so you should be fine with any luck at all. I didn't use any rtv and it sealed fine, unlike the old cork gaskets on my Dart that needed all the help I could give it.
Yeah, I was surprised how well made the gasket was. I really liked that car, it was a highline coupe 2 door and was surprisingly quick and handled really well for what it was. The 95 only was kinda like the 68 340 4 speed Darts. It had a slightly hotter cam and made 136hp vs the 132 all the other later single overhead cam engines made. It also used a lot of unique parts like a oil separator box on the egr setup and other parts. I have a 06 Charger Hemi RT now so completely went to the polar opposite but its really fun to jump on the loud peddle. 🤣
I worked at a Honda/Mazda dealer in Service mostly inspecting incoming trades for the used car lot. I thought, I remembered that nearly every neon coming in had a blown head gasket. I could be wrong, it was the early 00s
@@DUMBERTHANYOUTHINK The early Neons used a normal gasket to save a few bucks per car vs the mls gasket Mopar specified because of Daimler. That destroyed their reputation. Mine had it done at 70k and it was a factory recall. It had almost 190k on it when the timing belt snapped and gasket was still going.
Thanks for taking the time to take the engine apart. I know if it was me I wouldn't have bothered to take it apart. Thanks for also clarifying about the exhaust in the shop. You can't tell the ventilation watching on UA-cam. These last 2 videos were so satisfying. It was great they sent you that treatment for free. Hope the dart is out making lots of dough for you!
Real cool of you to listen to the fans on this one. It’s incredible how BG actually works. I’ve been missing for a bit, so I have to ask: what happened to only using the gold icon ratchet on everything? The one you’re using looks suspiciously not good!
I've been consistently VERY impressed with BG's products. Jonny told me to get the BK44 for my N63 and it did a great job of cleaning out my fuel system. Not the least bit surprised that Dynamic worked as advertised. Also not surprised you had some haters show up to criticize you. Most of the people trying to tear others down are just jealous.
On the first video I was disappointed you did not remove the valve cover, but understood why you did not want to remove it 😃 now so pleased you did, wow, great product.
Who the hell is calling shenanigans on a guy who 1. Has never lied about work he's done, and 2. Has no incentive to lie about what it did. Either it worked and that's awesome, or it doesn't work and he'd just say so. Yes, one could say he was paid to "lie". That's just the paranoia talking, kids!
Plenty of UA-camrs lie to push products, so peoples suspicions are 100% warranted. JR doesn’t seem like he does it at all, but having some healthy skepticism is smart.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Lotta talking there. Context and source matters. He's talked a ton on products that didn't work and you dont see them pop up again. If he was pushing the product regardless of result, there would be a ton of his videos all featuring it and pumping it up, a whole bunch of fluff about what it does, etc. That's not the case with this guy.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 cool. Didn't happen here. Past work would show that. And if some idiot takes advice from someone off one video and gets burned, who's fault is that? That's on whoever the dumb person is that only confirms a bias with one single source. We have the internet. Verify multiple times.
Back when I ran a shop with a dyno we used a lot of BG products and they always worked very well for us. MOA and a fuel system cleaner were the big sellers.
Does anyone know what kind of long-term effect, if any, these sludge cleaning products have on the rings, seals, and gaskets? That looks amazing, you probably brought back another 10-20 hp that had been lost due to friction and heat buildup from the sludge, and if the future owners continue proper oil changes it should last another 100,000 miles now. But I'm just wondering if those components are affected at all by the chemicals in the sludge-cleaning fluid.
No negative effects. And with the same cleaning of the piston ring lands this service will restore compression loss due to ringland deposits that hold the ring from properly expanding to the cylinder wall. When done by a BG Shop BG will provide the BG Lifetime Protection Plan on the engine if performed prior to 125,000 miles up to $2,000.
I'm impressed. I had to do the valve cover on my 98 Camry with around 300k It honestly looked worse than the Camaro. Need to do this treatment and see if it can desludge my engine. If it can do that I'll be a true believer.
The bg product's work great, so does liquid moly. M539 restorations, show's how well the liqui moly worked on one of his bmw project's. The stuff work's, and JR doesn't lie.
I was quietly hoping you'd change your mind and take the valve cover off, but I totally understood why you weren't trying to do that. The fact that you did it for us was really cool.
I am athe service writer for European Automotive in East Texas. We use MOA and 44k at every oil change. And we have used the Dynamic clean on a few BMW's in the past. It has always done the trick. Thanks for all the great content JR.
I had a dart GT and actually loved it. It was a great car to me. Six speed manual, heated seats, wheel, mirrors, alpine speakers, leather seats and it's was $212 a month. Traded her in for a wrx a couple years ago.
BG products should pay you for the advertising they just got. And as far as taking the valve cover back off i would not have done it but shows your loyalty to your followers
Wow, thanks for this video. It was very interesting to see how clean that engine is now. If you BG treat another engine, maybe save a few ounces, in case you get your hands on something like a riding mower or snowblower for your property that has been neglected. Then you could give the engine a quick rinse. And my 2 cents about running the engines inside - even if the building is almost like being outside, my suggestion is some CO detectors throughout the building, to stay safe.
It's funny that people go by the 10,000 mile oil change recommendation. That sludge is a result of that. It's such a cheap insurance policy to change the oil more often. Thanks for all the great content!
Not quite. I had well over 100k on my old 2012 Focus 2.0L, and ran full synthetic every 10k miles, usually Valvoline Synpower 0W-20. When I replaced the valve cover on that it looked brand new inside. The issue is people who run over 10k or go to 10k on non synthetic oil which aren't designed to be run that long. If you run quality synthetic oil you can easily run 10k and never have sludge problems.
Hey Mr. thanks so much for doing that, I wasn't one of the people who asked for it, but yeah, sure glad that you've done it so I/we were able to really SEE what it actually did! Thanks from a subscriber from back when you had only 60k.
Looks great from both vids. Wasn't expecting you to do this one but I figure it was 40% shear curiosity, about 40% appealing to us unwashed masses, and maybe 20% in getting extra traffic or a little sumfin from BG Dynamic for getting them another great before and after shot. ;)
A lot of people hate the Dart. I've always thought it was a nice looking car. Its a lot nicer than the neon. I like large sedans so I would never own one though.
If you haven't tried it. a squirt of MAF Cleaner seems to help drivability. You can use brake cleaner but CRC makes a specific spray. Maybe I just want to believe it makes the engine smoother, but it seems to and a can of the spays lasts forever.
If you happen to see this I just wanted to thank you. I'm not going to lie I wanted to see this but I respected your decision based on the points you made. Long story short thanks for the extra mile you took.
I was not expecting you to do that! Thanks! Love your channel! Quick q- were those plugs pre-gaped? I have had rotten luck with pre-gaps. Inevitably if I do not check them they are off. I am sure yours are fine, just thinking out loud.
As a how to channel, it's good you corrected not showing inside the engine after the treatment. It's you going the extra mile to fix things that will keep me coming back for more.
This man just took apart the valve cover after he just recently put it on just to show the viewers what the engine looks like inside!!!!! You Are One Hell Of A An Awesome Guy!!!!!!!!! Thanks You For This!!!!!!!! :) ;) KUDOS
I worked in service for about 20 yrs and did this BG service a couple of times for customers. I always did it with no guarantee how well it would work. The first one we did was a 4 cylinder Corolla so we pulled the valve cover out of curiosity to check it. Everyone was impressed at how well it worked, I would definitely do this if I bought a car that turned out to be sludged up.
I commented before watching, Corolla we did looked almost the same inside after, I think it was actually sludged up worse. I recommended replacing the engine before, customer wanted to try this first so we did. I was amazed at the results and saw the car running many times after so....
I almost never hear the environmental noises that cause you to halt, apologize, or otherwise react. With the close miking, I believe you can press on through all or at least most of them.
While I completely agree with you from the first video, “we are not going to remove the valve cover to show you the results”, but DAMN!, the results in this video is the selling lynch pin to make me buy BG products for all my vehicles. THAT VALVE COVER??!!!, WOW!
Champion plugs and Mopar have been a thing for decades from my understanding. Now idk about newer Mopar vehicles. I want to say that Chrysler moved over to NGK in the early 2000s, but I know my 1999 Grand Cherokee has an emissions sticker under the hood calling for a Champion plug.
Thank you for knowing this! My 07 ram still called for champion, had to change every 30k miles! Ran like crap with anything other than champion for some reason.
I've done a handful of newer Mopar 2.4L 4cyl... Patriot, Caliber, Sebring, a few Avengers... and they called for the Champions with factory 30k mile service interval. A bit odd, considering Mitsubishi and Hyundai have derivatives of the same engine and yet they use Iridium spark plugs 🤷♂️
Jr. Here's how a coworker of mine desludged a 68 charger 383.Him and a bud had been trying to start it for 2 weeks no luck. Crank no start. So I stopped by to take a look and found they had a rubber gas line running into the carter carbs PVC port! They didn't know that was the wrong port. So I pulled the battery cable and told them to drain it and I'll come back the next day. they drained 5 gallons of gas/oil out of it.They were lucky it didn't backfire. It started and ran fine after fresh oil although the lifters clattered for a bit.
What a clean 2.0 Liter Tigershark Dodge Dart engine after the BG cleaning! Yes indeed those Dodge Darts from 2013 to 2016 are very popular while there are lots of them on the road including my 2014 Dodge Dart SXT!
I am impressed. As far as rtv....right stuff is almost all I use anymore. I've used it on a rear differential cover, then broke the rearend, (454+right foot)when I went to pull the cover back off, it almost destroyed it.
Nice video. I watched the previous video with the BG cleaning. Quite a few times after that strong of a cleaning solvent being run through a engine that sludged up. Bits can get in tight oil passages and clog things up. Glad you did pull the valve cover. Just for a little added peace of mind. Maybe run this oil change 500-1000 miles. Then change the oil. Get all of the sludge (if any) remaining in the engine.
I think this payoff in what it actually looked like was what everyone was expecting. Especially when you consider you got the cleaning kit for free. The cost of your time, and maybe another gasket and some RTV is and was expected. Glad to see you came around for the reveal.
9:41 Just so everyone knows the Dodge dart did come with those Champion spark plugs from the factory. They are iridium. And I have no doubt these NGK iridium spark plugs can actually go 100,000mi.....Iridium spark plugs are kinda known for that now, and that’s probably why dodge went to their oem manufacturer (Champion) and asked them to supply the iridium plugs that were in there from factory. And that’s why those originals went way past 100,00 And honestly, $2.50 copper plugs perform better than the $15+ iridium plugs. The downside was You gotta swap them every 2 years or so. However on a 4cyl that’s easy work.
Believe it or not Chrysler worked Hand & Hand with Champion Spark Plugs During Developing a lot of their Engines and they designed their systems to work with Champion Plugs. I don't remember where I read it but I will say this, the Stock Champion Plugs that came in my 04 Jeep Liberty 3.7 lasted well over 1000k and I replaced them due to age not because they failed, at 155k I had a bunch of maint done and figured I would change the plugs while I was doing it all. I put in NGK Ird plugs and after a few miles it had a rough idle and still does, going to put the stock plugs back in it soon. I Never Ever used Champion in Autos, Lawn Mower yes ( Good old J19LM or J17LM go forever lol ) and will only run them in our stock jeeps, won't even put them in my 89 Dakota 3.9L LA Engine lol.
I was satisfied with the scope camera footage. I have used flush, transmission fluid and kerosene to remove sludge from my engine with decent results. I imaging BG would do a better job. Thanks for the proof of concept.
I’m still not convinced. Can you please take the cover off again tomorrow and show us the valve train again using the optimum White Balance setting on the video camera so we can really see the result properly? I’m just kidding of course! Thanks for taking the time to do this, I was only semi-convinced it worked after yesterday’s video. This kind of response on your part is why I stay subscribed.
wow that is so impressive! thanks for putting in the extra work, i was a bit bummed not to get the money shot at the end of the last video but i didn't comment :P would love to see more sludge cars get the treatment!
Wow! Thanks for these vids. My Charger is sludged up from the previous owner. You convinced me to buy some BG Dynamic. I was gonna buy some Liqui-Moly but this look like it works waaay better
Thanks for pulling the cover. It was good so see side-by-side the difference. I do have a question where all the sludge went. Did it all dissolve in the cleaner or is there a surprise lurking in the oil pickup strainer? I would also suggest wearing safety glasses whenever using power tools. Your eyes can never be replaced.
I wasn't part of the outrage mob, but I do appreciate the extra effort to give us a better look. It's really impressive what that treatment was able to do.

The engine isn't under any load. Probably wouldn't want to drive it around under full throttle during the cleaning process.
^ That, and you can see the cams in the video, which generally have the most wear. Definitely didn’t look any worse.
I'd be concerned about the cam and crankshaft bearings and journals.
It doesn't change revs, it maintains a high rpm of about 3500 rpm.
We need a chemical analysis of the BG flush oils to see if they have any anti-wear additives.

Wow. Amazing. Maybe the people at BG get in touch with you about your tutorial and get you some sponsored product.
Wow, very interesting, thanks for showing the before and after!
I was not expecting you to do that! Thanks! Love your channel! Quick q- were those plugs pre-gaped? I have had rotten luck with pre-gaps. Inevitably if I do not check them they are off. I am sure yours are fine, just thinking out loud.
They are, .044 🍻
As a how to channel, it's good you corrected not showing inside the engine after the treatment.
:) ;) KUDOS
That Dynamic worked incredible. Very impressed.
Holy crap am i impressed! Good job to those guys.
Daaaaaang. That stripped the sludge off super well! I am impressed.
Really wanted to see the inside of the valve cover but I understood why you didn't want to. Happy that we got to see!
Massive difference. You've got the quick video turn around thing to a science dude. You post more than any of the other car channels that I follow.
Thank you JR! I bet the company that sells the cleaner as well as all of us skeptics are super happy!
I almost never hear the environmental noises that cause you to halt, apologize, or otherwise react. With the close miking, I believe you can press on through all or at least most of them.
It's actually all shot with a little shotgun mic so I stop for every sound outside the building... gotta make sure you don't have to hear it 🍻
@@WatchJRGo It doesn't matter unless it is so distracting it ruins the video. It just doesn't matter. Sounds happen.
That was an amazing transformation..
While I completely agree with you from the first video, “we are not going to remove the valve cover to show you the results”, but DAMN!, the results in this video is the selling lynch pin to make me buy BG products for all my vehicles. THAT VALVE COVER??!!!, WOW!
I get really tired sitting on my couch “supervising”(watching) you work. Excellent roll model you are a testament of your parents. Keep it up. ✌️
I did not expect this video to come, so excited to see!!!
Really appriciate you taking it apart again just to show us the inside.
I am super impressed...great work! If you are looking for a follow up I'd love to see the oil pan removed.
My 2012 Ram calls for either Champion or NGK copper plugs. It came factory with either depending on date of manufacture.
Hey! I am a Swede WHO really enjoys your videos. Thanks a LOT.
Thanks for doing that again. At least you were able to change the plugs too!
Wow! What a difference!! Buying the kit for sure.
Thank God peer pressure works. "I gots to know!!".. Dirty Harry 1971
😂 this was worth seeing for sure
That is amazing.
@@WatchJRGo Rage.....you won't get a Konisegg....yeah....RAGE😉
Wow that’s phenomenal! Made me a believer!
What a clean 2.0 Liter Tigershark Dodge Dart engine after the BG cleaning! Yes indeed those Dodge Darts from 2013 to 2016 are very popular while there are lots of them on the road including my 2014 Dodge Dart SXT!
Well done! JR!!!!
Thanks for the science!!!!
Great results!!
No more BG Dynamic conspiracy!!!
Glad to see you came around for the reveal.
thank you so much for showing us the inside look of under the valve cover, much appreciatiated
And that’s why those originals went way past 100,00
And honestly, $2.50 copper plugs perform better than the $15+ iridium plugs. The downside was You gotta swap them every 2 years or so. However on a 4cyl that’s easy work.
Glad that BG Dynamic made you show the “after “ to us,now I will try it on my car.
I need this Dynamic for the Diamanté ASAP
Probably need a little more than the dynamic
Really impressive result!
Thanks for opening the valvecover!
thanks!! was super curious what it looked like under the valvecover
Spectacular results! Glad the comment doubters are put to rest. Congrats BG on a great product!
Wow! Incredible attention to your fan base! You are the man! Awesome channel btw!
You really know how to give the WatchJRGo Army what they want. That's why we watch your videos and support your content. Great job JR!
Absolutely incredible, awesome job and great results, and also, I wish I could learn how to do what you do with an engine. Impressive work.
I was convinced about the effectiveness of BG after the camaro but it's still cool to see 😊
Thx for the extra effort JR. it’s something we wouldn’t do so it’s very satisfying to see how good the flush worked
What is the kurfuffle? As I recall you've done similar before at Car Ninja on a Corvette?
Thanks for the video..we all appreciate it!
Really impressed with that BG - wonder how long that Dart will last considering their reliability issues
Great job really appreciate the extra mile you went to show us all us the results. Can you pick that stuff up for a tdi volkswagen?
That's really amazing what the BG stuff did. Impressed.
Thank for the extra work JR!! A pain for sure. But wow - what a difference!! Great product! Can’t get it in New Zealand 😢😢
Thank you.I wanted to see it to.Very impressive!
