I bought my 2015 Dodge Dart GT 8 years ago as my first car and I still love it! It was actually totaled by insurance not too long ago but I loved it so much that I decided to buy it back from insurance and fix it!

I just bought a 2013 dart limited that is identical to the one driven in this video (although mine has a manual) and I gotta say, these things are awesome cars. The amount of features that this thing has for the price is amazing. I get heated leather seats, heated steering wheel, a digital gauge cluster, plenty of storage, great gas mileage from a great sounding turbocharged engine, and a really fun ride. Of course it has problems but I really love the dart. I feel that the dart could've sold better had dodge not rushed it into production. With its styling and features the dart definitely could've done well in the market.

I loved most of the video, I just wished you showed all the thousands of dart reviews from 2018-2022 that have had them since new that haven’t had issues and are at 150,000-200,000 plus miles. Seems like people love to show the negative (which all cars have) but never the positive. Because this car especially the engine and trans you drove is a very VERY reliable car. Recalls means every issue on the car was fixed and they didn’t leave owners to have to spend thousands on repairs. The rav 4 and Camry have reported transmission issues and failure recalls as well!

Honestly, I would argue that it didn’t fail. What failed was sedans, coupes, and even hatchbacks to some extent, as they are becoming less acceptable by most buyers. I guess if the nameplate of Dart failed at anything it was in not being a cute-ute or small SUV.

I own a 2013 dodge dart and by far the most reliable car i ever owned. This car never went to the garage beside for maintenance, like brakes, suspension, oil change and small stuff like that. Never done any of the recall and it still runs like a brand new car. Might be the fact that i've put only 58k miles on it but still i wont get rid of this car anytime soon.

I always wanted one of these, specifically in Aero trim, I loved the exterior styling and loved the interior as well, It was the first car I ever saw with a digital gauge in it. They are getting hard to find now though, I feel they discontinued it too soon, it deserved a refresh and update, it could have been a great seller if they would have stuck with it.

I still have my 2015 Dart GT 6-Speed Manual and still love driving it. The first car I ever drove was a 1965 Dodge dart. So, I can actually say the first car I ever drove was a Dart and the last car I ever drove was a Dart. The only problems I had is the clutch pedal return spring broke, and I'm on my 3rd left rear wheel bearing.

Cool video on one of my favorite cars I've ever driven. I remember wanting one one I first saw them announced, and later on, when I finally got my hands on one, I did not regret my decision one bit.
I'm still driving my 2014 manual transmission Dart GT. It's got over 217,000 miles on it, and it's STILL going strong. She may not be the fastest, but she still looks great, is still nimble, reliable, and in her own way, fun to drive. I also can't help but be spoiled by all the stuff the GT model came with (leather interior, heated seats, sun roof, Alpine sound system, sport tuned suspension, 18 inch wheels, etc): it's the first time I ever had a "fully packaged" car, and it's made me not want to settle for less when I eventually have to get a new car. Hell, I'm hoping to still hold onto this one even when I do get a new car, and just keep working on it so I can still take it for rides... especially since it's probably going to be the last manual car I'll ever get to drive. *grumbles*

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Dodge Dart as It has been a very reliable & in my opinion a very well engineered car indeed! I enjoyed your video on the 2013 to 2016 Dodge Dart story as it was pretty much what happened from its premature 2012 promotional marketing, i.e. 6 apeed transmission over a 9 speed decision change to get the Dart out the sales gate quicker, etc.! For me, this is the first video I have watched of yours for months - not because your videos are bad or anything, but because I've been enormously busy, and this video finally got my attention. I owned a 73 Swinger (Dart) and it was a really cool car, kind of a grandma car but it had that big car feel and even with all the issues it had, it always started and drove - it had a 318 with a dying battery that somehow never failed. I should have bought the nice Duster sitting next to it with the slant six and started up right away plus was 400 dollars, but I have some fond memories of the lime green Swinger. I thought this video was about all the Darts through history but you gave an excellent intro about the older Darts and did a great job on the modern Dart. Thanks!

Have owned 3 of these and would still have all 3 but one tangled with hitting two deer @ one time @ 2AMish in the morning - deer died and so did my 2013 Dodge Dart. I currently own a 2015 SW w/2.0-6-speed manual and a 2014 Dodge Dart GT w/ 2.4 - 6 speed manual. The only real true issues with the Dart is crappy over priced/over rated 1.4 turbo - avoid like the plague it is.
Otherwise the main issue/root cause issues with the Dart is the lack of promotion/marketing by Mopar and after that is that it is far to practical, logical, & sensible for majority of the USA. People today are just not happy if they do not spend @ least $60,000+ on any vehicle as well as not having a minimal of 84 months of payments that are more than house payments/rent. In addition to these are far to good on gas and then how would folks complain about the price of gas? Let's not forget being able to spend @ least $150+/month for insurance? It is not criticially important to have a 4X4 of some kind - even though more and more do not have a clue how turn on their 4X4 drive as they think it is automatic and be sure to be driving around in anything in the winter with practically bald tires too - works out really well...
The final issue with the Dart and cars in general as it relates to GM, Mopar, & FORD is not enough over the top markup on them as how could these companies support over paying their executives & the CEOs?
    Anyone get the sarcasim?
The Dart helps to provide proof of what an instructor in Marketing on the last day of class told all of us in the last few minutes of class that day to long ago.....
"When marketing products/services to the general public always keep in mind that people are stupid and lazy by nature".
Buy one of these w/2.0 or 2.4 w/manual 6-speed and they will go several hundred thousand miles if maintained which is another issue many folks have is maintenance of any vehicle today - refer back to my quote from college marketing instructor for reference if needed.
These cars and many cars in general fit the category of purchasing for need not want. To many folks today purchase for need of want ; then way over buy and put themselves in to much debt/expense and complain about going "check to check". Look in a mirror for why?
The Dart should still be around in Generation 2 w.manual transmission but again - to many idiots are to dang lazy and dumb to comprehend how to properly drive a manual which is why manuals are a minority and becoming more so. Driving a manual involves more focus on driving and less focus on social media learning about the techniques utilized by Ashton Kutcher to pick his nose.

Great video! I bough my 2014 Dodge Dart Limited, 2.4L 6 speed automat 2 years ago. It has 108K miles and I absolutely love it! I wish I would have bought it when it was new. 8 months ago it started not recognizing it was in park (it was) and it took many times to turn off and a few months later, wouldn’t start. My repair shop and the dealer said it needed a new shift assembly and NO new shift assemblies available until possibly December 2023. Tried a used one, it wouldn’t come out of park. Anyway they did an electrical bypass found on the internet, and it’s good to go. Other problem, I keep getting “Park Light Out” warning and all lights are working. Still trying to find solution. Anyway, despite this problems I absolutely LOVE my Dart! It’s handles great, fun to drive, has a ton of options and I love the body style. Thanks for your video. I loved the ending! God bless you! 👍🏻🙏🏼😁

I had an awful experience with my 2015 Dodge dart aero, it was my first car so I took immense care in taking care of my car. The transmission would cease up out of nowhere and it would ask me to shift from park to reverse and nothing would happen, I had an awful few experiences where I was stuck in rush hour traffic with the transmission just giving up on me, the dealership claimed that it is the manufacturing defect as the clutch plate gets hot and ceases when youre in stop and go traffic or even a small drive through line up. I had taken my car to few dealerships to see if anything can be done and nothing was helpful. I am glad Dodge discontinued this hunk of metal, yes the gas mileage and torque was all great but it only takes one to bring it all down. Im a proud honda owner now :)

This car has always had a very rough ride compared to my 2012 Kia Optima. The suspension feels like it is directly connected to the ground. You feel every small crack in the road right through the seats and up your back. Overall the car is far less 'refined' than it's competitors.

@@AlphaSharkThat's not a Dodge Dart I know of. 🤔 Darts had V8s not a 2.4. This is still a Dodge Neon which was rebadged as a Dart. Look up all the problems the Neon had and it amounts to a Dart. The reasons for lack of sales have to do with the Neon.

@@AlphaShark people keep asking for a basic car but they don't buy them. The Journey and also the Avenger were decent cars, not great, but a perfect first car or winter car. I think the dart being based on a Fiat made it trouble from the start. At least the other two had a 2.4 that was derived from I believe Hyundai. It was reliable but not very fuel efficient or powerful.

I had hopes for this car.
Then came the ending... you be you. As to a God that created us to sin, told us we are sinners, said the only way out from our sin that he created us with is to believe in & worship him... that's a really strange God in my mind. And I'll also throw in how OK slavery seemed to be... there's more but that's enough.

scotty kilmer made a video about the 2013 dodge dart. the dart he was talking about had 300,000 miles on it. its the dodge dart they were selling before Fiat took over. its after Fiat took over that the car started to fall apart.

    • @AlphaShark
      @AlphaShark  Рік тому +1

Nope, the Dart was built on a Fiat platform from the start. And it had issues right out of the gate. Some of them surely will go to 300,000 miles. I believe the one I reviewed in this video will! But not all of them.
