I’m so happy you put the disclaimer for your natural birth and your experience. It’s unfortunate that some cannot have a natural birth but you should absolutely share your experience
I haven’t even watched yet but as an expecting first time mom, yes yes yes!! Can’t wait to upload my own testimony of a supernatural birth once I give birth to my little one - due June 2022! 🙏🏼 I’ve been loving sharing my pregnancy journey - thank you for inspiring me Nicole!
Thats amazing! Congrats on your baby! SO excited for you and LOOOVE hearing labor stories because you're right its a testimony and they are all so unique and different! Praying for a healthy safe delivery mama
Thank you so much for sharing your birth story! I am 7 mos pregnant and this was so real and motivating. Everything you are saying aligned with what my doula taught us in our hypnobirthing class. Congrats on your beautiful baby girl ❤️
Loved this😊✨ Having a natural birth is something very special. I had 2 natural births and literally my biggest motivation was the fact that I was so afraid of the needle from the epidural, so I had no other choice than going natural Like so afraid. Even after my daughter was born I needed to get surgery (cause I was losing so much blood) and they wanted to give me an epidural but I said no, I want to go fully under cause I ain’t want a needle in my back😭 But I am happy I was able to have 2 natural births
Just had my first baby Dec 18 all natural & at home, using similar methods. I watched Bridget Taylor videos too, I was 9.75 cm when my midwife arrived!
I love this! I’m planning on giving birth at a birthing center with a midwife, my first baby! I’m due in June and I’m so excited to do this naturally thank you for the extra tips!
I watched your labor and delivery video loved it! Thank you for this video! Due in February with my first child and mentally believe I’m prepared I’ve been walking since the beginning of December 3 times a weeks 30 mins with different inclines and now 5 days a week 30 mins also on my birthing ball daily.
This was SO helpful, filled so much info! Thank you. My first time around I definitely was not educated and I went in with the same mentality. I'll try to have a natural birth, if it's too much for ill just get an epidural. I ended up getting an epidural at 2 cm! Looking back I probably could've gone longer but I was afraid and I didn't have much support. But my next time around, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a natrual birth and do my research, and inform my husband on all these amazing things! Our bodies are amazing!🙏🏻🙌🏻
SO excited for this video !!! ❤️ I had an epidural and induction with my first son, and plan to go completely natural and unmedicaided! Watching your videos have helped me with my decision to go natural, A LOT!!
I, too, wanted to have an unmedicated labor 2 years ago but I did no research whatsoever 😭 if I ever get pregnant again I’m definitely going to try & research everything! Thank you so much for this video!
I am 41 and 2 days today and am squatting during this whole video…so glad I’m choosing to have a doula with my second because I needed more support with my first home birth. These are all great tips Nicole and I will be applying them for round two!🙌🏻💪🏻
Love that you’re squatting while watching this haha! Hang in there mama I know the end is tiring but you totally got this! Praying for a healthy delivery 🧡
Even this title is so weird to see cause it’s the absolute NORM where I’m from to have unmedicated ‘natural’ births in a hospital. I birthed my first two sons back in New Zealand where I was born and raised with a midwife in a hospital (no one else in the room). It’s very unusual not to have a natural birth there then moving to the states I ended up having a home birth because I absolutely knew what I was doing but got so much smack for it! It was incredible and I’m excited to do it again for my 4th baby but the hospital/doctor culture here is so upsetting because for a huge amount of mothers a lot of the interventions are very unnecessary. The Business of Being Born is an eye opening documentary to watch about the American Maternity system.
Hmm so interesting how some countries handle this so differently than others! Awesome to hear you are standing up for what you desire for your own labor mama, wishing you a healthy delivery!
@@Nicolelelagreen much like the book you suggested, that doco explains a lot how America got to where it is compared to the rest of the world. Your video did encourage me to get moving though! Haha thanks!
Hi! Loved your video. Thank you for sharing these tips! Was curious if you had a direct link to that Christian hypnobirthing audio. I'm looking for something just like that. Thank you 😊
Oh my goodness, I love your content! It’s so good. I grew up in a Chicago suburb and went to college in Chicago, so I feel like we could be pals, lol. Love you and your videos!
Your videos are so helpful! I’m having a baby boy in April and hoping to do it completely unmediated using hypnobirthing techniques I’m nervous but mostly excited! 💗
Thank you so much for this video!! Just in time, I’m due Feb. with baby #2 and hoping for an unmediated labor this time 😊 I would love to see a video on your and your little ones adjustment to 2 kids.
@@Nicolelelagreen I just wanted to come back and say that I did it!!! 100% unmedicated birth he came in 6 hours, 7 minutes of pushing vs. 18 hours labor, 4.5 hours pushing with my daughter. Thank you for all the tips breathing and counter pressure were where it was at for sure!
I’ve watched this before but I’m back again because I’m terrified my epidural won’t work for the next baby🤣 Just realized I’m horrified of labor and I have 25ish weeks to turn that thought around. The only reason I’m terrified is because a paper cut hurt worse than my last labor and birth. It went that well. I’ve never heard of that lol so I’m expecting the worse this time.
I planned on having a natural birth with my first, but once they said I was 10 centimeters I got so scared and asked for the epidural even though they told me I was doing so well. I'm pregnant with my 2nd now. I'm almost 31 weeks. I know I can make it through the pain of the contractions since I did with my first, but the thought of pushing and possibly tearing scares me so much. How bad was that phase?
I know you already have your baby now but in case anyone else reads this: I, like you, got through labor unmedicated but was terrified of pushing. I did do it unmedicated and it honestly felt like a relief vs the contractions at that time. For me pushing was exhausting but not painful. I did feel the “ring of fire” when her head was coming out but I think my body had so much adrenaline that it just didn’t hurt, I was only aware of a sensation of heat down there, not pain. I didn’t tear with my first so I can’t speak to that, but I credit having an awesome doctor who was very intentional about me taking my time getting the head out and massaging around the head to help me not tear.
It felt right, natural, and hurt less than other positions! I pushed like that for a while but then ended up actually turning on my side to finish the pushing btw
Do you feel like a natural unmedicated birth is possible with a doctor at the hospital? I’m 31 weeks and medically cannot get an epidural. I wish I would have went with a midwife. I feel like the nurses won’t know these techniques and I’ll be in too much pain to remember these things to help me in the moment
I think if you communicate well with the doctor that you can’t have an epidural and what your plan is then it’s surly possible and many have done it! Is it too late to switch practices? Or get a doula? I know you’re pretty far along but perhaps that’s an option. Again if not, I believe you can make a way mama 🧡 praying for a healthy delivery!
I know I’m too late but it definitely is! I did! But it really helps to have a doula if you’re at the hospital. My doula was such an advocate for me and she knew so many pain relief techniques and knew how to keep my labor progressing after it had stalled a bit. So that way I didn’t need pitocin or other interventions
May i ask you, if you had your Babies Heart rate monitored? I also want to choose my birth position freely, but its my first Child and i also want him to be safe. Greetings from Germany ❣️ Love your Videos
You should be allowed to call it a natural birth without worrying about what others will think or say! And you should be allowed to be proud of yourself for it! This is about your birth, no one else's. The snowflake culture is mad 🥲
I can’t believe we need so many disclaimers in this snowflake culture. The word natural can be interpreted in so many different ways, stop being a freakin crybaby about it.
I think the issue with the title is not the "unmedicated" part but rather the word "natural". All births are "natural" births whether they're vaginal or c-section. I understand the definition aligns with your experience but it doesn't necessarily make it any less alienating or disheartening to those who ended up having a birthing story that wasn't vaginal. To them, I'm sure their experience was very "natural". They delivered their baby in the safest way possible, given their individual circumstances. I'm sure that wasn't your intention and my goal in leaving this comment isn't to shame your word choice. Hey Amber, I completely understand your point and see how that can feel alienating to some. At the same time, definitions are definitions, and they help us communicate specific meanings. This is the term used within the medical industry, and most people…and I can’t change that. When I create a title, I use key search terms that would lead people to the correct video they are searching for. So it just wouldn’t make sense for me to try to use another term, which honestly, I wouldn’t even know what other term to use. Hopefully you can see my dilemma here. That’s why I make it clear in the first minute of my video that I don’t want to shame anyone who didn’t have a “natural” birth. I had a medicated labor for my first born son so of course I have no judgement in this area! All I can do right now is offer that disclaimer until another word is created to describe this experience. I appreciate your comment and I know your heart is in the right place, so thank you 🙏🏼
hi amber, all births aren’t natural. if you use medication of any kind, that leads to a birth that’s no longer natural. it’s not vaginal versus c-section. medication is simply not natural
@@Nicolelelagreen I appreciate your response and again, I do not think your intentions are to alienate anyone. I understand your point being made about the medical definition used. To answer your question, your title could have read "How I had an unmedicated vaginal birth..." and I am sure it would have eliminated perhaps any backlash you stated you received in the first minute of your video. @@amberfriedlander2811 that’s actually a good option for a title as well, but I decided to go with a more popular term because that’s what I think makes the most sense and aligns the most with my video topic. Hey amber, I see your point but a c section by definition is not natural, It’s a c section birth, which there is nothing wrong with that! If someone feels alienated by a neutral definition it really isn’t up to us to change definitions and what they mean…Just because you didn’t give birth naturally doesn’t mean it wasn’t any less of a birth!
