My favorite thing? Hearing how hard the rider is breathing. I try to explain that riding isn't just sitting there and hanging out. Its a WORKOUT!! 😁 Great video. Love all the treats he's getting at the beginning haha. And people think we abuse and toture horses. Big babies is what they are lol
Alix King that’s the horse breathing
@@buffboibobbuffboibob7595 It's the rider. The camera/microphone is on the helmet, si you're hearing his breathing.
YES IKR IT TAKES ALOT OF WORK TO RIDE A HORSE
Alix King agree a 100% people abuse horses and I thinks it’s cruel I ride a 29 yr old appaloosa and I never abuse him I heard him breathing so hard so I cooled him down so he can get his heart rate back to normal then that was it and he’s still a good horse
Emily Yeadon 29?! You shouldn’t be riding it what do you use it for hacks are ok but jumps ect are to hard for a 29 year old horse
4:06 good lord that's a hard one
Morgan Vogel o
Ikr. Brave horse and rider. Even though the horse does a lot of work more than the rider (basically, no offense to anyone out there, everyone has facts and opinions to their selves.
Horse Lover lol yeah because the rider just sits there amirite? lmao
GOD, WHY DOES EVERYONE WANNA 'FIGHT' WITH MEEEEEEEE. :>
Jessica Ruggiero Riders don’t just sit there :/ both the horse and rider have to work very hard.
there is only one jump I can do on course..... the small one before the hill!
can u do any bigger ones yet lol
Yeah now my best is a 1.25m
@@champme5820 👏👏👏
@@champme5820Have you gone any higher now? :)
That was one long course folks...nice quiet ride too...kudos to John and his mate..
Never in my entire life would I've remembered the whole course far too complicated 😂
"Get up!" hahaha...that is one good horse!
I felt like I was the one riding, and when I heard the poles coming down I was like "NO JUMP HIGHER COME ON BUDDY!" out loud, I could never jump this course lmao props to you
I heard the pole too lol. When he was coming up to one of the larger jumps I kept clicking my tongue out of habit haha.
In the beginning, the feeling of excitement rose in my stomach when my eyes landed on Rolex. LOL! As if I was a good jumper!
what a gorgeous animal.
First time I have been over jumps in a long time :) Thoroughly enjoyed this helmet cam and would love to see more.
+Judi B same here!
I do GoPro videos to you can check them out if you want but you don’t have to
And here I am, getting this recommended to me 10 years later.
me too😂
@@laylalisewska8786 Lol
From what I heard 3 poles got knocked I'm not sure tho.
No u would hear. he just probably touched them
Hello People I do believe I heard 3 aswell. And the description says it wasn't the desired ride.
Yeah, I heard them too. Pretty sure they all fell down.
Hello People definitely 5
Carly Walls but if he touched them they would fall
Watching this Before my jumping leson🙌🏻
How’s your jumping now?
Loved this! Gave me an insight as to what I want to achieve in the future :)
It's amazing!! You and your horse are a great team!! Keep it, it was so good to watch ❤️🐎
Why was this recommended 9 years later?-
Hi 2021
I have this course memorized, and I've never even been to Spruce Meadows! LOL, I watch this event every year, and the course is always the same one, so I've got it down!!
This really shows that riding is not just sitting there amazing video
Yeah! Also if someone’s ever saying that they are plenty of videos to show them it 40% rider and 60% horse. One of my favorite edits about that is ‘You Still Think it’s Easy?’
Thanks for this video John, what a treat to see a round in the international ring at Spruce Meadows from the saddle (and as a competitor in the tiny little stuff at RMSJ, thanks for all you do for the sport at the grassroots level!)
What a beautiful course! :D Well done
Amazing! It's awesome that you guys did this! gorgeous horse too :D
Love this perspective. I was there, down by the bank, and knew the course was big but had no idea there were actually 4 water jumps. It's an amazing feeling watching from horse and rider view.
I would love to do this one day!
These videos give a great idea of how physically tasking these courses are on both horses and riders. Anyone who thinks riding is easy should take a peek. :)
Great work, you are an inspiration to young riders like myself!
This was amazing well done xx
Wow! You and your horse did so well!! Great job friend! :D
awesome :) I saw him riding with the cam, I was hoping to see the footage
Who's watching this 9 years later haha I was 2 when this was published 🥺
absolutely amazing!
good lord that was a long course! Love those reins!!!
what a beautiful course *.*
Always my dream to ride in spruce ❤️
This was amazing
Seeing the jumps come at you like that must be so daunting!
Beautiful course.
Terrific is such a wonderful, and beautiful, horse. And Mr. Anderson is amazing as well!
This was 9 years ago and on my recomendable
wow that was awesome. some long course!!!!!!
Love this video😍
I love Helmet Cams!!!
18 jumps- i- wow! amazing x
i counted 23 jumps lol
@@itspoppy8700 oop
This is so perfect 😍
This course looks fun
I was so excited when he rode by wearing his camera!
Got to love spruce Meadows.
I hate it when people say “riding isn’t a sport” and “it’s so easy.”
Threw my years of riding I have experienced refusals, my horse bucking, my horses going completely ballistic and much more. But not ONCE have I fallen off while jumping. (Which still shocks me today even though I have been riding for almost 7 years) Riding is one of the most dangerous sports out there. When parents go sign there kids up for riding they think “oh, riding is safe my kids will be fine,” but no. Each year over 7million people die from riding horses in the United States. It’s crazy how many people believe that riding is safe.
You had a great ride!! 👌🏼👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼👌🏼
Ugh i can’t wait for Spruce
Am I the only one who put it in full screen and pretended like I was actually riding the horse?
BEYOND COOOOOOL! it was like i got to ride through the courst! i'm a huge fan and have been watching spruce meadows since i was like 4! i was thrilled to see what it's like going threw the devil's dike! AMAZING!
Don't know about you, but I was exhaused after watching. Good job!
Woah good job!
Ypu did great on the water jumps
That was a unique course!
Not unique, it's basically a copy of Hicksted in the UK
Wow. That's a tough course.
well that sure looked easy...im impressed!
That is really cool right now I'm training my pony to jump but she only just started so we are going to start with the poles and then go higher and higher☺😊
wow !
So cool but soo confusing. How do you stay on course?
Awesome...wow...
How high are the jumps?
I enjoyed watching this horse show, how do you know what a horses physical limits are??
All depends on the horse
Horses can be trained to different levels, but usually, they're bred into higher SCP. :)
My horses physical limits were walking past a glove on the road😱 she almost took me to Timbuktu😂
You’ll know
how many jumping faults did you have at the end?
My parents after a fall:never again near a horse
Me:hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahshaha
I've had so many falls I should technically be dead. Especially when my skull smashed off a concrete pillar.. that horse got shouted at then he didn't do it again. 🤭
@@Kat-mu8wq Same! i had my back broken from a 1.40 cm oxer :'D but that didn't stop me
ninguém bateu palmas !!! ohhh
@167Kagome not meaning to sound rude in any way, but... did u read the description?, the visable second line is Meadows National in Calgary, and yes people from all over the world compete in this, but i hav no idea if Ian Miller was there, i don't think he has retired yet...
And i was also leaning back slightly on the approaches
Good Job!
Was that Beezie madden on the side at the beginning?
Kelsey Davis yes it was!!
Is this at spruce meadows
Hearing the rider's grunts made me remember how I used to think that canter is easy, since you don't even need to post like in trot. I was so wrong. Cantering is a heavy workout for your core and I always breathe heavy as if I was running alongside the horse.
We really should make every person who complains that we only "sit on the horse and do nothing" go a round or two in trot and canter...
@mysmakable It's sooooo not easy and takes a REALLY long time to get to this level... but jumping is fun and exciting!
yes he did!!
This video was made right when I was born 🤯 and I love horses 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Just about to leave for a show watching this for good luck.
Wow, good job😋👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
i love that horse!
It's not easy at all, but it's really fun, you should try it!
I like riders that talk to their horse. I always talked to my horse as we went.
Bravo
This horse looks like he's got a fantastic scope, is this true? Stunning horse!
Wow
Good rider :)
very good
How manny flats did you have??
How many rails did he have down??
Yes he did!
he did, you can actually hear it at the end
Am i the only one that got so caught up in this that I actually started two pointing over the jumps?
I Love The "Get Up" at 3:17 ish
i feel like i'm the one riding lol this is the most ingenious idea ever haha it's great quality too!
Watching this i feel like i am on a video game.
2022 anyone?
I put this in a VR headset and fell over bc I tried to two point
oh my god!! that was a long track!!!!
I hadn’t ridden in a few days because of family things and oh Lordy when I got on my little mare I was dying.
wow
My anxiety could never
that's crazy, I couldn't remember all that lol
Didn't Beezie Madden do the Nexen Derby??
Moi aussi je fais du cheval et je trouve que tu es super fort 💪👏👏
