@@lilac_Fairy_gamer_roadto300there’s this one girl at an open barn I went to that was whipping her horse and yelling at it and calling it stupid when it avoided a jump it was scared of..
Our mare (now retired) was the same. ..she wasn't in a snaffle 😂 you could not get her to slow down or stop. She absolutely loved it, of course she's 37 this year so no more jumping for her unfortunately.
@@Kat-mu8wqmy aunt has a 34 year old mare, and she loved the cross country courses! and now we'll let her in her arena with some low jumps for her to jump over with choice! ofcourse we don't ride her we don't even have a single piece of tack in here and she'll crazy over jump everything!
Wow, what a powerful horse. He just wanted to go all out the whole way. She just had to point him at the right jump and let him go. No hesitation. And her talking him down to help him answer her cues to slow down were so wonderful and right. I loved it at the end when she then rode him on the buckle and he walked like a gentlman! Great connection. I have a special love for greys.
I love this video. You and your horse have such a strong bond, you are both fighting for each other, this is amazing. You can see, how he is keeping his focus all the time, trying to find the next jump and to get it right for you. And you talk to him, encourage him and also tell him how much you love him in the middle of the course. I can see here, that you truly love each other. This is the part of equestrian and especially eventing, I adore so much.
You may miss it... but at least you did it! Nothing beats that semi out of control partnership XC, and I feel sorry for those in life that never had the chance to experience such a blessing. I'm betting you still do something with horses though... 😏 Horses - worse than heroin! 🤣🤣
@@ThegreatVerayeah that’s true, but seeing how the horse could keep going, it probably had tb in him. Tbs have a special body which allows them to gallop for a longer period of time than other horses.
OMG! THIS HORSE IS A POWERHOUSE! Amazing ride! Even when he got strong, you kept your cool and continued to show him the way. That was quite a thriller to watch! THank you so much for providing quality footage like this!
This Horse: Powering through the who course going soooo fast, and doing jumping for almost 10 min strait. Barely even tired. Me: Can barely get out of bed without getting tired. 😅😂😅
Loved watching this!! As an armchair equestrian my entire life, I have never seen this perspective and I loved being there every step! Also made me think harder about how physical this sport is (for the rider!) TY
I love that you speak to him the whole time. ❤ this is what riders need to do when they running something this intense. His heart is pumping and ready to be at full speed, but you speaking to him, praising him for a job well done after each jump can go a long way. You both feed off each others energy. Making each other confident. Your bond with your big beast is charishing ❤.
"Slow down!" "Mother, you do not understand. Speed is KEY in a competition, lemme show you already!" I love how he tries to just: GO. XD And I absolutely adore this course. This is precisely why I love crosscountry so much, lot's of speed coupled with endurance and perfectly normal jumps. I wish modern high level courses were more like this, it would be so much more pleasant to watch. ;v; Well done, you both!
Absolutely brilliant ride on your part too. I mean it. I don't think I ever had a race I rode in that I felt that calm. You are so relaxed yet firm in your voice, your balance, and your whole guiding him. Just brilliant.
this literally just made my day i love the way she talked to her horse the entire time, engorging and praising him even if he didn't do it completely right made my heart warm
If they hadn't included the horse's name I would've sworn he was a horse I used to own (Cap'n Friendly aka: Trooper). Looks just like him from that view and he'd jump anything you pointed him at. He'd also run right through the bit like that but as soon as the rider relaxed their hold on his face he'd settle right down, just like this horse did at the finish. He was great for teaching my students to not be heavy-handed on the bit. lol
You did such a good round! He listened well. And you did good at making him listen! I love how much you praise him and tell him "good job!" And "your amazing" it really shows yoi care! And congratulations on your AMAZING roung you both did so good! You should be proud of him and yourself! Good job!
This be taking me back to the time my horse bolted. Let me tell you the story. We were having a good lesson, but a bird flew through the arena, and spooked my horse. He bolted and jumped the fence. I held on and went into a jockey position. I gained control, but I kept galloping. I jumped over a cross country log and then stopped him. My trainer was asking me what happened and I told him that story. He was impressed, and lets me jump cross country during my free time now.
Oh my I love this!!! He’s AMAZING!!! What a powerhouse of a guy! He loves his job!! I’d love to know more about him, see a picture. Your video came up on my feed so I’m off to hopefully watch more videos of him!!
You’re right. The horse did want to go faster but she had to slow it down for the jumps. If she didn’t slow it down it could not be stepping right and mess up the Jump which could be dangerous. The horses most of the time want to go faster. Good observation! :)
Another reason to add to the post above: It's eventing, cross country is the second of three stages to ultimately test the horse. This means that this horse has already ridden dressage (no jumping, just showing how obedient the horse is through a series of movements), and show jumping which is the last and faster course in a small arena with jumps easy to knock down. If the horse is too tired after cross-country or injured he won't make it to show jumping or do very poorly due to exhaustion from the day before. Pacing for this part helps keep the horse ready for the next part.
This horse is insanely powerful, he galloped the entire thing without a second thought, damn.
