- This knife was designed by one of my customers. I really really like the feel of it in my hand. The blade is from Nitro-V Stainless Steel. I have a voice-over version on my Patreon page that goes into more detail on the build.

About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Gotta say, I really enjoy the peacefulness of your "Sounds of the Shop" videos. Super relaxing, and the filming is always so informative.
I first started watching you and Walter Sorrels many years back. I just wanted to thank you for what went on to be a new chapter of my life. I only ever managed to finish one complete knife with kydex sheath, and its a bit of a monstrosity. However, I ended up learned metalwork, knife sharpening, basic handyman skills, heat treating, angle grinding, workplace safety and riveting. I used to be a guy who struggled to change a plug, who sat at a pc all day long. Then a day came when I was tapping a thread into a piece of angle iron for an M10 bolt, so I could make some vice jaw grips, and I realised how far I had come over the years. Thank you for helping me turn into someone who can use his hands and fix things. You probably get a lot of shit because the internet is like that, but just remember that you help people learn invaluable skills.
Nice, simple and no thrills, perfect.👍
I really enjoyed this! I actually decided to try my hand at knife making last year to make a lightweight hiking knife. Version 1 works and cuts but I plan on making a second version as soon as time allows. I have one of those essential jobs, otherwise this would be a great time for it!
Right on, thank you! Keep up the great work and stay safe. We all appreciate the work right now of essential workers. 🙏👍
Truely master in action.
I just re-watched your video "How to make a knife - a bushcraft knife" that you did back in 2016. It is amazing how far you have come in the last 4 years. You are truly an inspiration. Looking forward to the future with you!
I really like the look and shape of this knife. Id have no problem carrying one like this. Nice work sir. 👍
I mean what tool bag can put dislike to this video? Great, informative work as always Jeremy. Always look forward to seeing your videos.
Nothing like a top of the shop set up.
I've said it before, I'll say it again - keep doing you mate! Love your work, love your knives, love your detailed approach. Much love from Australia mate 👌👍
One of the best looking fixes blades I’ve ever seen 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

The free hand is amazing
Beautiful. It looks like a lot of work but also a lot of fun. You are very talented.
Love it!!!
I need that!

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. 👍

It's definitely sharp Mr Jeremy, cheers for the upload 🔪🔪🔪
Thank you 👍
I really love the blade shape
That's a beautiful knife
That's a good looking knife....
Thank you!
Awesome job I always enjoy your knife making videos
Thank you very much!
Great knife man. I like it a lot. I will have to design one now. Im liking the naked thing for tough duty utilitarian knives. I love stuff that takes a lickin and keeps tickin
Great idea, congratulations
Great video!! Thank you!!
I really like this channel I am from Thailand ❤️
Very nice blade, I love the clean lines.
Thank you!
Great knife
THANK YOU - for not playing dorky canned background music. THANK YOU!
I never understand people that complain about music or voice or talking. Cluck off or turn off sound...duh!
You should do one of those with scales, it might look nice. Great work as always!
That would be sweet. The gent who ordered this is going to do a paracord wrap on it and he wanted to do that himself but it would look cool with scales. 👍
excellent job
Great video. Love that shape and you make it look so easy. But I bet that's experience. Impressive
Thank you very much. It definitely gets easier the more you do it. 👍🙏
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
Oh this is gonna be a good one.
I hope so 😄👍
Beautiful man, beautiful!
Thank you!
That's a sweet blade! Paracord handle would be great for a camping knife!
A MASTER PC.
Let me start by saying that I really enjoy your videos. Just wondering if you are ever planning on finishing the folding knife with Damascus from Alec Steele?
Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I do plan on doing it at some point. It's a combination of not having a lot of time for that project as it's such a huge under taking, and, I honestly have a hard time finding the desire to make a folder. I do need to get it done though.
Wow Amazing!
gj 💪🏼
Respect 👍👍👍
I'm in . Not really much else to do these days. Ah off to storage to get my gear. Great video and thank you.
Right on. Stay safe man👍
Well done mr Jeremy. . That must be a common blade shape.. for a second there.. i thought it looked familiar. . Lol👍 great job as usual. .👌
Nice knife!!!
Love the knife! Would like to see in in very thin orange G10 scales for people like me who tend to set them on the ground and forget them.
Wow, that is great.
Thank you.
Man that guy's fast on the bandsaw! ;-)
Cool clip!
6:26 Definitely the most satisfying part
Daniel O'Brien I’ve never seen heat treating like that before, impressive.
Beautiful wish I could have it
I always love when knife makers take a fine sheet of paper to test the sharpness. Even I can cut card stock when I sharpen and I suck at sharpening.
Card stock is thicker than regular paper; its easy to cut with a dull knife. Phone book paper is very thin with long fibers in it, witch show if your knife isn't perfectly sharp or rip the paper if the knife is dull. I get what your saying their is a lot more to a knife than how it cuts paper but its defiantly a good starting point to show sharpness.
very good job
Awesome knife! I would have put thin handle scaled on but that is only my preference.
Very nice.
Fantastic
Thank you!!
Very nice mate 👍 Customer must be chuffed.
U have a compled tools for created knife 😎👍
Damn you're good!....Awesome video!!
Thank you very much. 🙏
I want to have this shop and a knife and to be a student of such a master!!!
Love you videos, you make great looking knives. I’m trying to get started. What is your grit progression? Do you use belts to do most of your finish sanding or hand sand after you got your lines where you want them?
Perfeita parabéns 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Really nice and nitro-v what an awesome steel, I do like your voice over videos though 👍
Thank you. Yeah, I love nitro-v. I am doing voice overs for patreon. I get a lot of people leaving nasty comments about this voice overs so I figured I could just do without that headache.
@@Simplelittlelife your joking what is this world coming to. I've always enjoyed it ☹️
Stay safe 👍
Beau couteau du bon travail
Througly enjoyed it. Good Job 👍😉 I might sharpen my Elite Force self opening Lock Knife. It's got the glass breaker at the end. I love it. Stays besides my bed all the time just incase. You never know what is going to happen with this outbreak. Take Care to you and your family 💯👍👊👊👊
Thank you. Yeah I hear you. Who knows how crazy this whole thing is going to get.....👍
@@Simplelittlelife your right brother 👍👊
Awesome knife. I would like it with a chunky handle, but to each their own.
Thank you! The gentleman who ordered it wants to do his own paracord wrap on it. I think scales would look pretty sweet too!
@@Simplelittlelife guess they're wont be a part two. : (
Love your videos. Do you offer or sell your knife design layouts? Thinking that offering pdfs of them might be a great idea?
That turned out realy well. Interesting sharpener, will you do a review on it?
There are plenty of reviews on that sharpener. Not cheap though
Do you by chance have a video going over your hand sanding setup?
Great build what kind of handles/scales are you putting on it
That's some really good work you did. What steel did you use?
Nice
Thank you!
Excellent knife... Just wondering, wouldn't a hollow grind look/work better on this?
What is the sharpener you were using to put the edge on? Looks like a neat one and easy, better than sharpening by hand on a flat stone.
Would be sweet to put a serrated edge on top to be functional and badass like from the movie the hunted my fav blade
ok the knife looks amazong but where do you got this jacket from i like it so hard
Great work.... you could slice atoms with that thing!
Did ya ever test a knife to find out how long it maintains its edge? What is the RHC count comparing to store bought knives? The feedback that I got from the knives that I made handcrafted knives hold there edge longer than store bought knives but I never tested them myself and I have nothing to test the Rockwell hardnest.
Thank you for the excellent video. What's the name of the bit shown at ~ 4:38 ?
Is there anywhere I can get a print of the simple little knife love it would love to make one
Thanks love your videos. Robbie
Great work we should do some colab between channels greetings from Mexico
Thank you! I would love to but I hardly have time to get any content out and I'd hate to have someone waiting on my busy schedule. 👍
Super duper
I remember in your last video that you made mention of wanting a spatula for your adventures my question is why not make one?
Nice work Jeremy. Add a round sharpening choil at the ricasso. Just sayin'.👍
Thanks. This was a design from a customer and I thought he should get exactly what he drew. I really like this blade he designed.
Simple Little Life sly Stallone gets what he orders....Rambo 7.
Hello Friend. What grain of final sandpaper did you use on the edge of this knife?
How much would a knife like that cost out of stainless steel and simple hardwood handle? Just curious. Thanks
What is the purpose of the heat treatment in the foil package? You haven't hardened it yet, I see.
What type of band saw do you use?
Where did you get that de-burr bit?
What is the tool you use for folding your foil pouches?
Great video, I didn't look through all of the comments but I'm curious as to why you heat treated it before grinding in the bevels?
The main reason is to avoid warping. Nitro-V has a tendency to warp really bad so heat treating full thickness really helps. As long as you’re really careful to keep the blade cool while grinding there are no problems that come up 👍
What do you do with all your used stainless foil?
Nice build. Are you gonna try to wrap it or just leave it? I guess with all the work in the handle holes, you'll probably leave it, looks good either way. I've been trying to figure out different wraps, they are a lot harder than they look... Hope you're staying safe, take it easy...
Thanks Dave. They guy who ordered it wants to do his own paracord wrap. I'll have to mock up a wrap for when I press the kydex sheath though. Yup, staying in making knives just like you. You stay safe to buddy!👍
To get the bevel to look different like that, than the rest of the knife. What was your technique?
Mannn I’m really Wishin I had that belt grinder right about now. Still making due with what I have. Sore shoulders from all this sanding and filing hahah. Paying my dues in sweat over here. One day one day
Right on man. Hang in there 👍
I just bought 1x36 for 52 bucks harborfreight
@@michaelcope3864 How is it? I've been thinking of getting it. Do you have the Central machinery one?
@@Triple.Stripe.Knives yeah I do have that one. It works fine I've used it few times not had any problems with it. Think it's great for knife making.
@@michaelcope3864 Cool, thanks. I'm thinking either that one or one from "BusyBeeTools", which is in Canada so better shipping and stuff.
