So glad i found your channel. I subscribed on the first video i saw. Good info no fluff or the cheesy music all lawn care channels think they have to have.
Hydretain is definitely not a "snake oil" product. It works. I've used it in conjunction with wetting agents for the past couple of years and my localized dry spots have disappeared. This is one of the first products I by every year and one I recommend to everyone who's lawn I work on. Another great video !!!
Great Explanation! I have been using the Hydretain ES Plus II version which adds a surfactant "Wetting Agent" for better penetration as well as Potassium Humate aka "Humic Acid". It is only 5$ more per gl and I think the benefits are well worth the extra $$$. It truly does work 100% and suggest it to everyone who asks me about summer watering. Lots of great tips in this vid, stressing the need for it to be watered in ASAP. Great information as always! Peace and God's Love! Chad Upstate NY
Thanks for the explanation. I think the key and you said it is that it needs moisture in the soil before applying. Not gonna turn a crust into moist soil. And other thing to mention is the granular has a super stinky smell! Haven’t noticed with the liquid. Good info!
Great video...Curious what the mix rate is? I have heard 9 oz per 1,000 sqft. Which I figure is about 6 oz per gallon of water. Is this what you have found?
I was thinking the same thing, and I’m skeptical that it’s not the case. I’d like to see a scientific explanation of why this product would not augment the conditions within which fungi would thrive.
@@TurfCulture I figured out what caused the fungus in my yard. It was my blade!!!! It had a few nicks. I hadnt checked it in a month, Big mistake!!! I applied diseaseX and propiconazole 2 weeks apart. I changed the blade and got the old one sharpened. Its clearing up now.
Granular didn’t work at all for me. I simply applied 3lbs per thousand just a couple of hours before a rain storm, easy huh, and throughout the days, weeks, months noticed zilch. I wasted so much money and am not a fan of hydretain.

I’ve got plenty of old videos with cheezy music pumping, thanks for watching and subscribing.

That’s a great option especially if you aren’t using either if those products regularly!

The granular smells awful, no doubt about that!
Best video I have seen on this product. Great job on the explanation and application. Oh and your lawn and landscape looks amazing :)
Thanks Keith! My wife is the landscape commander in this house.
@@TurfCulture Tell her Striperman says well done :)
Thanks for the great explanation! This definitely changes how I'll be applying hydretain to my lawn!
Great video!! I put it down a few weeks ago and haven’t even setup my DIY irrigation system yet!
I’ve had to crank the irrigation a time or two, we’re in a drought already.
I'm going to be applying some of this, this coming weekend. We've been hot and dry here in the Lou, fo sho!
The time is now Ben!!

Also curious if this could be mixed with a broadleaf spray? I use lesco 3 way post emergent. Would be handy to spray them together.
I really enjoy all your videos. Well explained
On point. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind feedback.
Great video! Just ordered some.
Really appreciate the insights you provide. Is there an increased risk of fungus pressure from the effects of Hydratain?
Not that I am aware of.

Excellent video.
Thanks for watching!
Are there any temperature restrictions for applying? Its currently in the 90's here in Boston, so wondering what temp I should apply. Cheers!
You can apply right now. Wet the grass first, apply, and water it in per label instructions.
@@TurfCulture awesome!! TY!
@@sarahclifford8000 also don’t apply thinking during the hottest time of the day, early morning or evening would be best.
@@TurfCulture Sounds great!! TY!
Great video. Thanks
Thank you for watching and commenting!
i would like to use this on my customers but what happens if you dont water it in?
It’s useless if you don’t water it in.
@@TurfCulture as long as it does not burn the lawn i guess the ones who dont water the lawn can wait till it rains
Can it cause a fungus when there are unusually heavy daily rains for a few days?
Not that I am aware of, no.

Did you continue to irrigate throughout the year?
Moist
Say it slower… Mmmmmmmoist
Cut your grass, water, apply product and water again
