Fantastic topic for you to cover atm Ben, very appropriate for Australia, its dry here in Qld. Even with wetting agent down, were watering 3 times per week.
My first year using WA and impressed, I’m really old school and in past thought they be a waste of money, I’m in SA so been cooler here but dry and have most probably only watered 4-5 and that’s mostly to add product. Screwdriver goes all the way in like it’s butter 👍🏻
Yo mate, would you recommend getting a wetting agent down on top of the sand after a reno? I went pretty thick on the sand this year to fix the levels and worried it's going to get a bit dry.
Love the vids I’m currently using a wetting agent the mix ratio is 300ml per 100Letres which will cover 100m square my back yards 1000m2 iv got a 100L tow behind sprayer does that mean I have to mix up and spray out 10 tanks or what would happen if I mixed 3Ls into my 100 L tank then spray the who back yard and watered in well what’s your plans for the large areas of your fairways etc and how are you going to apply wetter to those large areas
Thanks for your tips... gonna get some of your product recommended for wetting agent - can you mix this with an application of Primo Maxx? I need to spray this also and thought might hit it with both. What products should you avoid mixing when spraying the lawn?? Thanks!
another great video ben, any idea on what to do to warm up soils im in mountain regions in vic and its still struggling to get high and low temp combination consistently above that 30 number?
Run the pint glass test on the spots again with just water in both. Should hopefully see a massive difference in rates the second time. Maybe a little further apart so the wetting agent doesn't help the regular water test.
Great vid mate…what’s ur thought on applying 50mm / 100sqm every time I apply my weekly application plan v a dedicated 100-200ml / 100sqm once a month?
After applying the wetting agent, how long should you wait before you top dress with sand? Just have a lawn that is desperate need of levelling but is really dry
Technically, the grass was hydrophobic, thats why it ran in streams over the turf surface. The wetting agent helped break that initial layer caused by the turf, not saying the soil wasn't though
Would love to water that amount but unfortunately around Perth (unless you have a bore) your’e restricted to twice a week at approx 12 mins each time, and only once a day (usually early mornings best so it gets to the roots before they dry out). If you do more you risk a visit from the Ranger and a fine.
IDC what anyone says, fall time is way better than spring for cool season grass. We in survival mode now, good luck rest of the summer mate! Putting my lawn to sleep here in Washington State, USA 😞
Cost money for material, manufacturing, packaging etc. isn’t really much mark up on lawn products either compared to a lot of other businesses. Just the cost of the product unfortunately. (But they do cover quite a large area)

Awesome mate!!
Great video. Wetting agent would be a great addition to your app so us sandgropers can keep track of our constant applications
Thanks for the demonstration with this vid. Definitely will be making a greater effort with wetting agents this season
Nice video. Good amount of information i especially like the fact u mentioned how often to apply the stuff.
great explanation.. meanwhile here in the Uk we are having the complete opposite... floods and constant rain with maybe 2 dry days a week.
one of the best videos yet ben great detailed explanations but i want to know did you drink the schooners first
Thanks for the reminder
Great tips and with the warm weather coming up some great practical advice love it !!
Definitely the way to go 👌
Great vid mate. The difference is unreal!🌧☀️
Another top video Benny.
Thanks mate
I use Aquatrols Primer Select as my wetting agent every two weeks at 4oz/1k sqft
Any tips for keeping weeds out of my front lawn, lots of unkept verges on the street with weeds…

Huh, I learned something today. 👍
Would you do a solid tine aeration there ?? I’ve seen the toro ones on golf courses - very satisfying to watch.
Love the vids

Great video mate. Could you use this stuff around plants that have a similar soil problems?
Yes! You definitely can!!
@@LawnTipsappreciate your reply mate.
I need water pressure like that from my local council feed. Hahaha.
We sure do, it's shit lately.
I was thinking the same thing! Looks like a fire hydrant. 😂
another great video ben, any idea on what to do to warm up soils im in mountain regions in vic and its still struggling to get high and low temp combination consistently above that 30 number?
Great vid! What Hose head is that?
Is there any reason you don't use a fertigation system and apply it via your sprinklers? same with your fert. And thanks for the vids, great work.
Reckon fertigation might waste some product, seems windy where he is.

How often should you apply a wetting agent ??
Not sure how dry it gets down there in the winter, but have you applied a wetting agent before your winter season?
Great vid mate…what’s ur thought on applying 50mm / 100sqm every time I apply my weekly application plan v a dedicated 100-200ml / 100sqm once a month?
That would be fine mate. Wouldn’t be a problem!
How often do you water your bent grass throughout summer?
About to buy some 👌
Are wetting agents of any use if you have subsurface irrigation?
After applying the wetting agent, how long should you wait before you top dress with sand? Just have a lawn that is desperate need of levelling but is really dry
You could topdress the same day if you really had to mate. Wouldn’t be a problem
@@LawnTips thank you mate. Love your channel!

Great demonstration mate. I am sold on wetting agents for next season 👍🏻💚🦸🏻♂
Dawn dishsoad works great as a wetting agent
They can definitely work but less cost effective. Won’t get the same results either as something that is designed for turf.

You can hand water outside those watering dates.
What grass is that?
Do you use hydrotain?
What is your green side hose/spray head setup? Looks like at least a 1” hose.
Yeah it is a 1” hose. Got it from hose factory. I think it’s the Zorro hose
@@LawnTipsWhat hose/ nozzle are you using?
IDC what anyone says, fall time is way better than spring for cool season grass. We in survival mode now, good luck rest of the summer mate! Putting my lawn to sleep here in Washington State, USA 😞
What hose and nozzle are you using in this vid?
Hose is from Zorro. The nozzle is the Composite Heavy Duty "Commander" Hose Nozzle. Just make sure you get the right one to fit whatever hose you get.
How often do you reapply
He says it in the video, have a listen, every 2 weeks at half rate, or every 4 weeks at full rate.
Liquid v granular?
Cool vid. You know your sh!t
I’m I going to be the only immature one to comment on the glass shadows 🤦🏽♂️😂😂
genuine question, why are these products so expensive?
Cost money for material, manufacturing, packaging etc. isn’t really much mark up on lawn products either compared to a lot of other businesses. Just the cost of the product unfortunately. (But they do cover quite a large area)
@@LawnTips sorry I should have been more specific to lawn products in general - not necessarily your products. But thanks for the insights.
@@philly4yaa that’s alright mate, I didn’t think you meant only mine. All good!
