I agree with your point about Bungie keeping story stuff & a lot of stuff behind a curtain prior to a season release. But I think we should get a hype teaser on sandbox/artifact focused weapons, sub-class 3.0, etc.
@@GrimCitizen It is pretty substantial actually. I can’t remember what exactly the numbers were, but it was at the lower echelon of the high dps weapons. I think it had at least 50 thousand? on every other machine gun. I’m not saying that I would ever use it for dps, but I think most people underestimate it quite a bit.
Think peoples complain with it is the fact that the wind up of the gun despite being called a machine gun, is god damn slow... I mean sure it does a lot of dmg but why wait till you get to that top dps if you could chug a Gjallarhorn in an instant.
A machinegun worrth keeping a VERY close eye on next season is actually the VoG one, Corrective Measure. First of all, it has an adept variant, so adept big ones spec + some small stat bumps. But more importantly, it's an adaptive (450rpm, same as Hammerhead) machine gun which can roll Rewind Rounds + High-Impact Reserves. Which is a very strong combo with some great synergy (the same roll that is really good on Preadyth's Revenge (outside of the fact that it's still a sniper in pve)). Pair that with extended mag or something and you'll be doing some pretty good sustained DPS next season. edit: Oh, and it's void, so volatile rounds, although that'll matter less next season since you'll need a grenade kill
Grand Overture takes some getting used to, but after using in pretty much every activity outside of GMs, I can say that it is very strong. It became my primary heavy weapon for Gambit. Definitely give it a chance if you vaulted early in the season.
I think Glaives are going to follow the same pattern we saw with Bows when they arrived with Forsaken. A few minutes of hype while they're the brand new thing, followed by a general drop off as people go back to their old reliables. Over time, I bet we see a general resurgence from a very dedicated section of the community, but I doubt they'll ever compete with any of the standard specials in PvP or PvE without some much bigger buffs or seasonal mod metas
I agree but at the same time bows fundamentally have a much better place in end game content since they are long range, compared to glaives which are for the most part only viable in easy content

One is for sure about season 17. It will be talked about. We were in the dark about both Arrivals and Worthy. If it's good it's another Arrivals. If it's bad it's another Worthy.
I always appreciate how unbiased Datto is, but I still find it interesting how the one thing he has an obvious bias against is sidearms. Now I'm not saying they're the best weapon type in the game, but they are certainly effective at what they do, at least in PvP, not really PvE. Although I suppose that's why Datto has a bias against them, he's not really into PvP all that much. Even still, I would be curious to see what Datto thinks of them if he were to try them out in PvP at least, and I would recommend the Precision frame sidearms, I think those are the best.
I truly enjoyed this season. Agree with much of your opinions. Thanks for a thoughtful and concise review. BTW, can we get a Reckoning type addendum to Gambit again? I'm so bored by Gambit that I may not get the ornament this season, but just cringe when I have to go into solo queue and not many in our clan play Gambit anymore. It's played out.
PvE glaives < PVP Glaives is where its at and the buffs they are getting next season i think will make them a contender they are pretty amazing once you learn how to use them well. It takes a bit to learn but mastering it can easily take down numerous grouped up guardian back and for the exotic glaives some maybe worth it next season like the hunters and titans, the warlock may need more testing, but the hunter glaive will be good for pve.
I truly think glaives are only missing one thing imo; removing the waiting period between shot and melee. I dont think is asking for too much, especially out of a weapon nobody uses. But it would genuinely make the feeling of wielding a glaive feel like youre wielding a polearm, not a sidearm
I prefer if they do every season reveal like like this, I want the bare bones of what’s happening, and I hope to be surprised when I get on post season reset
Regarding Grand Overture DPS: Aztecross among others did test it, and it hits the hardest of any machine gun presuming you get 20x missles loaded pre damage phase. You can hit immune enemies ie Templar or Atheon to do this so easy, but regardless even if the best HMG, it was still leagues behind the likes of Gjallahorn, 2x Slugs, Sleeper, Legendary Linears, Izzy Rockets, and Whisper. However, come the HMG buff Thunderlord and Heir Apparent who DO get the boss damage buff will outclass it outside of short damage phases to unload the missles. Arc 3.0 could also be worthy for the weapon, as its catalyst adds Blinding to the missle swarms. Who knows maybe we'll get a fragment that buffs mobility upon blinding a target. Basically Grand Overture's place to stay cone s17 would be Arc burn GMs with a champion mod or seasonal content, but later could do much more.
Grand overture honestly has amazing ammo econ and is very good in arc burn shit, I used it in some mid tier content and then again in the first week of gg in the arc burn it slapped, dead messenger being like borealis is cool and honestly it gets lots of pvp use and is decent in match game since wave frames are good, perfectly balanced imo.
Since grand overature is not a crit based weapon so it is pretty good on bosses where a crit is harder to hit. Its pretty good on caretaker especially when he wants to spin during damage phase. Not as good when div is present since then you can more easily hit crits with other guns.
Same I can’t wait for next season to be surprised I don’t know why people are so bent out of shape over not knowing what elements gonna come next I think it’s because people are really excited and I think that’s awesome but like there are so many people complaining that we don’t know what’s gonna happen yet and it’s like come on guys it’s next week week I don’t know why from what I’ve seen the majority of the community is so bent out of shape glad somebody agrees with me that it’s good to be a surprise because most of the time with this kind of stuff Bungie tells us in advance it’s good to be a surprise imo A nice change of pace
For me the psi ops are the best matchmade content bungie created since menagerie. For the first time in years I could grind a activity that long.... u know just for fun They mixed old and new content perfectly and are the perfect step up from the normal battlegrounds from last year.
I would argue Void 3.0 is seasonal content, due the counterparts being seasonal, impact on all platforms, etc. Sure, you can argue development extended longer than seasonal content would, but Arc 3.0 and Solar 3.0 will be lumped with seasons moving forward (especially as seasonal mods will favor the elemental flavor, as Void had). Fair is fair, and accordingly, I believe this season brings SOLID content for being released alongside WQ. Good sign for the future 👌.
I think back when forsaken launched they needed that hype. They needed that flag that said "hey the games good again" and witch queen was like a signal boost right like bringing back people that wanted to see if destiny could keep it going after beyond light. I feel like with the success of witch queen the best part of destiny can be its own hype. It's own advertisement. That sense of mystery and discovery. The constant checking of socials to see if anybody found anything. You have the core player base and now it's time to hold onto it. Keep it a mystery. Dreaming city was the best part of forsaken because we knew nothing about it. Whisper and outbreak were phenomenal becuase nothing was ever said. I'd rather be left to discover rather than know everything before the game even finishes updating
My review of season 16: So bleh I stopped playing for a season. Witch Queen was great, though I personally don't really enjoy Vow of the Disciple, and after thinking about it I think I didn't like the symbol mechanics, and I like raid encounters where we shoot bosses. So for Vow I enjoyed Caretaker and Rhulk.... but only the part where we fight Rhulk and the rest of the raid is..... well take it or leave it. I would love to see a WAY larger raid in D2 where it's like 2-3 puzzles and like 4-6 raid bosses. A D2 Megaraid if you will :P

I agree with your point about Bungie keeping story stuff & a lot of stuff behind a curtain prior to a season release. But I think we should get a hype teaser on sandbox/artifact focused weapons, sub-class 3.0, etc.
Cross showed that Grand Overture is by far and above the best dps machine gun.
That’s not saying much though haha
@@GrimCitizen It is pretty substantial actually. I can’t remember what exactly the numbers were, but it was at the lower echelon of the high dps weapons. I think it had at least 50 thousand? on every other machine gun. I’m not saying that I would ever use it for dps, but I think most people underestimate it quite a bit.
It is just so not fun to use. I wouldn't use it just for the damage if it isn't at least somewhat fun to use.
Think peoples complain with it is the fact that the wind up of the gun despite being called a machine gun, is god damn slow...
I mean sure it does a lot of dmg but why wait till you get to that top dps if you could chug a Gjallarhorn in an instant.
Sweet I'm going to watch every datto stream from now on
DADDY DATTO WITH ANOTHER VIDEO LETS GO 🙏😭
My opinion has finally arrived.
Babe wake up Datto posted his season closing thoughts
Love this! I can never remember it all due to how disjointed each week is.
The volatile titan aspect is my favorite one. It's actually insane
Hi datto, would you ever be willing to post all of the blind runs of raids that your team did? I know you posted the Last Wish full 1st clear and I liked just watching you and your team try to figure it out. Thanks for the vids over the years!
As a Warlock main I played Titan for guardian games because I didn't want the pity win lol. The whole point of the activity is to win as your main, not for everyone to rig it just because warlocks haven't won yet.
Warlocks were gonna win no matter what. Bungie fudges the numbers when it comes to Guardian Games. They did this last year.
@@markmurex6559 yeah sure, but in the comments of various polls and videos on UA-cam at the start of the event, so many people were saying they'd play Warlock just to get them the w
One is for sure about season 17. It will be talked about. We were in the dark about both Arrivals and Worthy. If it's good it's another Arrivals. If it's bad it's another Worthy.
Osteo + necrotic grips = best last room seasonal activity farm ever!
Datto, you are a charismatic, sarcastic, funny streamer. People enjoy your content and like to watch it!
He's like the defective clone of Fallout.
Im so glad we can watch more of you dad 🫶🥵
GREAT VIDEO DATTO, REALLY ENJOYED IT, THANKS
I always appreciate how unbiased Datto is, but I still find it interesting how the one thing he has an obvious bias against is sidearms. Now I'm not saying they're the best weapon type in the game, but they are certainly effective at what they do, at least in PvP, not really PvE. Although I suppose that's why Datto has a bias against them, he's not really into PvP all that much. Even still, I would be curious to see what Datto thinks of them if he were to try them out in PvP at least, and I would recommend the Precision frame sidearms, I think those are the best.
He's kinda right about sidearms, tho. Close range, often high recoil, good damage......but I'll use a hand cannon over a sidearm any day.
@@markmurex6559 But have you tried using them :) Precision frame sidearms have very little recoil and still have a high ttk.
@@Nathan-uc6rn i think lightweights are better
wow the machine gun buff sounds sick. i still have a vorpal weapon seventh seraph
oh my god I didn't even realize you could change the damage type on the vox exotic until now
That's what makes it exotic. How could you miss that
Crow has been involved in so much of the story and i still feel like I couldnt tell you a thing about him
I truly enjoyed this season.
Did he mention the new dungeon we getting?
Next season looks pretty good by me if we get something like grasp again.
Love that place.
Dead messenger helped me get through the legendary campaign after I completed it the first time
Thou have blessed us mere mortals with a video! We must begin the ritual of thanking! SPAM THE THANKS!!!
That super sync at 13:58 tho!
The charge time and projectile speed is what sux.
@@markmurex6559 Acquired Taste.
We learned to dps with fusions, we can use this weird Fusion esque HMG Cabal gun
its amazing how many people are angry about no info about the new season. I agree with you, its exciting going into a new season blind.
I enjoyed season 16...and I'm looking forward to next season.
Not as good when div is present since then you can more easily hit crits with other guns.
glad to see the twich streams are coming to the archive
I watch every single episode, waiting for you to drop the nail polish.
Datto a real one fr
Datto vods finally on YT? Say no more chief, insta-subbed
13:58 All Titans sharing one braincell moment
Since the semester started I haven’t played Destiny at all lol
For the first time in years I could grind a activity that long.... u know just for fun
They mixed old and new content perfectly and are the perfect step up from the normal battlegrounds from last year.
Regarding the Glaives, as a hunter I stopped using them after the suppression changes lol. Got it to level 43, havent used it since.
Dope on the stream archive
My review of season 16: So bleh I stopped playing for a season. Witch Queen was great, though I personally don't really enjoy Vow of the Disciple, and after thinking about it I think I didn't like the symbol mechanics, and I like raid encounters where we shoot bosses. So for Vow I enjoyed Caretaker and Rhulk.... but only the part where we fight Rhulk and the rest of the raid is..... well take it or leave it. I would love to see a WAY larger raid in D2 where it's like 2-3 puzzles and like 4-6 raid bosses. A D2 Megaraid if you will :P
dude 5:30 since i saw that as a perk way back in week 2 i liiterely stoped using volatile flow and i have a very VERY VERYYYY AGGRESIVVE ability spam build for my titan that allows me to have all the perks without using any of the seasonal mods, i have devour on orb pickup, oversheild on sheil throw, volatile rounds on greadne kills and all the mods that i need to get them all back in seconds
I have to disagree with you on the seasonal machine gun. I love it. I have subsistence one for all on it and the ad clear is amazing.
Oh you didnt like controlled demo? The healing with volatile flow felt pretty good
I've been running Grand Overture in GMs actually. It does some pretty good damage and the missiles are great for add clear and bursting down the last bit of a Champ's health bar.
I do love that it is such a jack of all trades weapon
It's just not fun for me. Unique, but not fun. Also- I would prefer to use another exotic that is both fun and powerful. This Grand Overture just has the damage aspect.
Datto: You’re smart
Me: Brother, have I got a plot twist for you
STREAM ARCHIVE YESSSSS
I personally enjoyed this season. The story was somewhat tame compared to others, but we got a lot of seasonal content, at least much more content than past seasons.
the legend himself
11:56 I've been using then void machine gun from DSC and its pretty nasty with volatile rounds and procing reconstruction for fat magazine size
Wish i had that
Would’ve loved to experience the story, but about half way through my operation Elbrus disappeared and was nowhere to be found
Lets go!! stream channel!!
Subbed to the new channel Datto great content creator keep up the good work👍
I’m gonna put the stream videos on whilst I play weekend league on fifa from now
