@@elit408 I'm starting to question if you understand anything about the world of combat sports because then you'd know that these "one offs" were what Floyd used as his launchpad to dominate the list these previous years. You say Everytime he loses he loses money ...nah. he lost his last fight and bagged 5M , the winner of the fight took home 1M. This is very interesting but I have an issue with the term "highest paid". Since it's his own business, is he a high paid athlete or is he a successful businessman who happens to be an athlete as well? Like if Bill Gates or one of the uber rich suddenly play sport professionally will they be on top of the list?
I grow up watching GSP, Jon Jones and other great fighters..but when Conor enter UFC … I became a huge fan of both MMA and McGregor. He’s a genius and arrogant, but a realist ..I realized that success doesn’t rely on one thing.
McGregor was able to cover his HUGE deficiencies as a fighter by competing as a featherweight where he could easily dominate shorter opponents with his reach advantage. When he moved up in weight, things like his lack of a decent chin, cardio and ground game were easily exploited.
hate towards him is because of his success, he is what he is....junkies sit and talk judgmental is very funny, people talk about him in their interviews to promote in and their is one guy who cant risk his brand value so he continuously talk about conor to be in poeple eyes
Has to do more with the ufcs terrible marketing team. McGregor has money behind him from his friends in Ireland. Who shall remain nameless. Once they gave the grass roots push it was about the ufc adding fuel to the fire. UFC couldn't market a firefighter/mma champion or a gamer mma champion. Heck couldn't market GSP. Still can't market. Sometimes expansion is a way of hiding incompetence in existing markets.
If 90% of the guys income is made from non sports related things and he is not active in sports on a regular basis surely he shouldnt be know as the richest sportsman.
The answer is he makes loads of money regardless of what the outcome of the fight is and it’s a shithouse and therefore really funny, that’s the reasons, no need to watch the video
You compare the broadcast income of MMA to soccer in terms of going to athletes, but it’s worth pointing out that much much less of the broadcasting revenue is paid to athletes in the UFC compared to other sports.
Hey bro, i think you made a little mistake, yes the fight pass is like 7 bucks, and you can see almost all the fights with that pass, but the numbered events (just the main card) are like 60 to 80 bucks, those are the ppv from which McGregor and some other fighters get a percentage which variates depending on the fighter and the deal they made of course , and also, you pay those 80 bucks on top the 7 you pay monthly, nonetheless it was great video, keep it up :)
@@Jb19738 i don't think so, because depending on your country that's how much the fight pass costs, and also absolutely no one knows how high or how low the % they get is
3:55 Error in your chart. It isn't 2.4M $, it is 2.4 million pay per view buys. The buys would be priced differently according to region. So you should take out the $ signs from the PPV buy figures.
No man, you mix up his investment and what he get from his sport or sponsors related to his sport. That amount comes from his investment for that whisky company. Nothing to do with his sport. The smartest in sport maybe, but the highest paid is Messi. And I m a CR7 fan.
It's okay that he's lost some fights but his record is concerning. One more MMA loss causes a major problem. He's potentially one fight from never being able to main event an MMA event again. He has lost 4 of his last 7 MMA tilts plus an exhibition boxing match, so 5 of 8 last total combat fights. He's also 33 and there's a saying about MMA fighters- it's make or break at age 30. If you start losing at 30, it's very hard to turn it around. Plus, it's now know he's been suffering from serious arthritis for years and in his ankles to boot... which ruins kicking power.
conor is just fighting for fun at this point. He's already got rich from mma and he doesn't need to step foot in the cage ever again if he doesn't want to.

(here from under 100k subs)
Connor is even promoting Athletic Interest! Well done guys!
Explain Jake Paul's net worth and maybe the effectiveness of celebrity "boxing"
And how UFC became so valuable
No man I’m sick of hearing about that clown
hate towards him is because of his success, he is what he is....junkies sit and talk judgmental is very funny, people talk about him in their interviews to promote in and their is one guy who cant risk his brand value so he continuously talk about conor to be in poeple eyes
The UFC hasn’t tried to put the same promotional resources into any other fighter because there hasn’t been another fighter as undeniable as Conor.
If 90% of the guys income is made from non sports related things and he is not active in sports on a regular basis surely he shouldnt be know as the richest sportsman.
geez didn't even need the notification. these videos are always superb
Conor McGregor is king 👑 of pay per view, He is money fighter of UFC, without Conor McGregor no khabib , no diaz, no money fight in UFC,
The answer is he makes loads of money regardless of what the outcome of the fight is and it’s a shithouse and therefore really funny, that’s the reasons, no need to watch the video
Conor's arrogance and attitude is what sets him apart, he is the only athlete I know who chats shit and then goes on to annihilate his opponent.
Until he got choked
Larry bird.
Lol Khabib can annihilate him in his sleep

Would love to see more videos on the economics of combat sports and pay. Could even look into making a video about how UFC fighters are underpaid??
Rooting for Conor those first few years was surreal and the narrative was straightforward and simply amazing.
So much quality deserves more subscribers
This channel is something special it's just different 🔥🔥
Proper Videos
Now a video about Wrestling/ WWE or AEW from Athletic Interest... That'd be wildd....
Without mcgregor I don't really care about the ufc the other guys are so bland and meh
I hope he has another 3-4 fight run in him, be a lot of fun to see
The drama he stirs up and we all eat it up, we love drama
You compare the broadcast income of MMA to soccer in terms of going to athletes, but it’s worth pointing out that much much less of the broadcasting revenue is paid to athletes in the UFC compared to other sports.
I think something like "TOP EARNER" awards should only account for sports based income not business or investment
Can you do a vid about Energy drinks marketing like Monster, Rockstarr etc
We have some about Red Bull 😉
Hey bro, i think you made a little mistake, yes the fight pass is like 7 bucks, and you can see almost all the fights with that pass, but the numbered events (just the main card) are like 60 to 80 bucks, those are the ppv from which McGregor and some other fighters get a percentage which variates depending on the fighter and the deal they made of course , and also, you pay those 80 bucks on top the 7 you pay monthly, nonetheless it was great video, keep it up :)
I think he just meant around 7 dollars was his share out of the total cost of each ppv
@@Jb19738 i don't think so, because depending on your country that's how much the fight pass costs, and also absolutely no one knows how high or how low the % they get is
Great video.
Just drives me nuts when people refer to UFC as a sport when they mean MMA.
I saw the thumbnail and suddenly I sounded Irish “Proper Mooney” and am not even Irish.
Connor McGregor, world 👑
we've all known that this channel will hit 1 million since the first time we starting watching it. quality and content are unmatched.
That 22 mill was on the contract but he also got the ppv shares which could amount to over 50 mill.
Not true, his base salary was 2.5mill. 22mill is just what it's estimated that he made with ppv sales.
3:55 Error in your chart. It isn't 2.4M $, it is 2.4 million pay per view buys. The buys would be priced differently according to region. So you should take out the $ signs from the PPV buy figures.
Wait for his fans to blow this video hahahaha
no way I've just been watching McGregor videos lately then you upload this
Athletic Interest is watching you 👀😉
It matters because it shows he's a looser average fighter at best
No man, you mix up his investment and what he get from his sport or sponsors related to his sport. That amount comes from his investment for that whisky company. Nothing to do with his sport. The smartest in sport maybe, but the highest paid is Messi. And I m a CR7 fan.
Love me some McGregor! Never gets old
It's okay that he's lost some fights but his record is concerning.
He's already got rich from mma and he doesn't need to step foot in the cage ever again if he doesn't want to.
conor is history.......Islam is d future champion.....
King of the world. Conor McGregor
I’ve never seen anyone drinking proper 12, good for Conor though
Nice sponsor ad, really good!!
