not taking anything away from Ronaldo, but it's impossible to perform at a top level for 20 years in MMA, if fighters get 5 active years, they're considered pretty lucky.
Tomato tamato, Ronaldo kicks a ball with precision into a net at the highest level. Mcgregor kicks peoples heads with precision at the highest level. Both undoubtedly backed by there countries. if there was a way you could compare both of there athleticism I'm positive they would be close, if not equal. Literally just completely different sports they are playing.
Unfortunately Conor is in the ilk of his countrymen like George Best & Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins. Great personalities, all extremely talented and charismatic, but ultimately flawed and prone to chasing an unreachable high. I hope Conor can get help before it's too late
The only thing Dana knows is that if he finishes his current contract (2 more fights) he's NEVER going to fight in the UFC again. He's seen what Ngannou made, he knows he could make more boxing some influencer clown. UFC has to renew their media deal with ESPN soon. They don't have Conor, they ain't getting nearly the same deal. UFC is going to make sure he's still under contract when those negotiations happen.
I’m not a huge MMA guy, more of a boxing and football fan. Serious question, is this the first visible MMA guy who ended up with serious brain damage, acting crazy and disturbing and seeming drunk all the time even when he isn’t? I’m not saying this guy isn’t a drug addict, I’m sure he is. But this is how most boxers end up in retirement, and a massive chunk of football players. Fighting is bad for you
Not really no, in order for him to have developed CTE he wouldve need way more punches to the head, Conor was KOed once in his career 3 years ago, and he usually finished fights early, he hasnt had a career known of getting punched in the head, this is definitely something else
He is a drug addict and he's dipso too, he looks nervous now, long term coke use can lead to heavy anxiety and Depression, all kinds of mental health issues. I live in Dublin and my boxer friend was on Connors security team when the kabib fight was announced, Connor was coked out of his head that night so he's using an awful long time.
I have never been a fan of conor. But seeing someone abuse substances makes me want to root for them to cleanup their lives. I hope he gets better for his own health and for his family. But his days of being a top 5 fighter are probably over. He's going from a superstar to a meme. Godspeed to McGregor and his family. I am rooting for him put the dope behind him. He is now in the biggest fight of his life whether he realizes it yet or not
Honestly, he's proven all he needs to in the octagon. He was the best on the world for a minute. All he has to do at this point is not destroy himself.
He is starting to look like Stevie Ray Vaughn before he cleaned up. The booze and blow really go hand in hand. Weirdly, opiates worked a bit like blow for me, but I never got this bad. It must be really hard for people on this kind of drug, as there is no methadone or suboxone to keep you well while you sort your life out. I am very close to being off it, but it has taken four or five years. Looking at this clip, I think Connor might be pretty close to hitting a wall. He will probably end up doing something stupid and getting time - would be good for him at this point.
Hate to burst your bubble, but Conor was a coke head before the UFC, he was doing a gram a day for weeks straight at the height of his career, and nothing has changed. This isn't new.
The contract situation is he has 2 fights left. UFC is nearing the end of its broadcast deal with ESPN. There is no way they are going in to broadcast contract negotiations with their biggest PPV star out of contract. So the UFC are keeping Conor frozen out until the broadcast deal is signed.
I think the beard vs no beard is intresting because before 2015 beards were not popular but have been for almost a decade now. I perfer the traditional look of being clean shaven.
When I saw that good and coherent interview for Road House I thought he might be back on track... but that other interview when he is constantly moving his shoulders is a problem. The guy is broken and looks terrible, I don't think he will be able to go back to a real camp.
I think we could also consider CTE. Brain damage is one of the most devastating long-term injuries you can get from martial arts. Based on new studies investigating how little impact it takes to get brain damage, I would say most fighters have it, it's just the extent of the disease. Erratic behavior, lack of control and emotions and slurry speech go in hand with substance abuse, but I would actually rather have it set off by the cycle of addiction itself than potential CTE. CTE is so devastating, because your brain controls your body. You can have a broken leg, but with a damaged brain you can have an irreversibly malfunctioning leg.
@@13bh12No. Every single fight he’s had since he began his career, has begun giving him irreversible brain damage, just like any other fighter before or after him. It’s not if he got KO’d in the fight, it’s when you get blows to the head everytime is when the brain develops CTE.
Do any of you know what Sparring is ? Do you know how many fights he’s done had, while training for the $ Fights . Everyday is a hit in the head Literally . I think some of you have CTE for not understanding the concept of what I’ve described 😂😂😂😂
For Conor to post all this stuff about his partner and kids, then to see him like this in bar high as F@k doing stuff with other gals, wonder if he does realize that one day he might lose the most precious things in life and money n fame was not the answer. 1:05 Ronaldo has performed at the top level every week for 20 years. McGregor done it 2-3 times in 2015/16. Disrespect is off the charts.
Thats one way to compare apples with oranges
not taking anything away from Ronaldo, but it's impossible to perform at a top level for 20 years in MMA, if fighters get 5 active years, they're considered pretty lucky.
2 different sports lmao. HAHAH IMAGINE COMPARING KICKING A BALL TO PUNCHING AND KICKING SOMEONE. The delusion is real

Same hahaha. Very underrated card.
Unfortunately Conor is in the ilk of his countrymen like George Best & Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins. Great personalities, all extremely talented and charismatic, but ultimately flawed and prone to chasing an unreachable high. I hope Conor can get help before it's too late
The dublin knacker is coming out in him.. used to love him but he's gone very bitter the last few years. Bring back the old Connor... Connor..
This might explain why Dana or the UFC aren't allowing him to fight yet.
They may know something we or most people do not...
Exactly
Yup, that's it
More like they know something that is incredibly obvious to everybody.
What?!
@@andressteffens Most of the damage is sustained during practice and hard sparing.
@@realnumerology true, but do you really think that's whats happening here?
He is a drug addict and he's dipso too, he looks nervous now, long term coke use can lead to heavy anxiety and Depression, all kinds of mental health issues.
I live in Dublin and my boxer friend was on Connors security team when the kabib fight was announced, Connor was coked out of his head that night so he's using an awful long time.
I love the yu gi oh cards in thumbnail its sick

Cuban Coffee is a hell of a drink.
He is now in the biggest fight of his life whether he realizes it yet or not
Well said
Honestly, he's proven all he needs to in the octagon. He was the best on the world for a minute. All he has to do at this point is not destroy himself.
The way he always talked shit, he won't get a pass from me.
But i do appreciate your positivity

Conor hitting those nose beers like the final boss. It’s easy too see as an recovering addict myself
You be hitting bbc that’s the only thing you’ve ever been addicted too 😂
He is starting to look like Stevie Ray Vaughn before he cleaned up.
The damage from years of drug abuse is showing now. It wasn't before.
Cuban coffee is really next level tho. I found a place in Portland years back but can't find them now. The energy level is waaay higher!
Conors a good example of how huge, rapid success can actually make ur life worse, even if your sleeping in a mansion at nights and chillin on yachts.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug...though because Conor is in combat sports, this could also be an early sign of CTE
Not everything is CTE, conor is a coke addict and we all know that, just saw his latest interview, man he needs help.
good point.

he never took enough damage for cte dumbass

The contract situation is he has 2 fights left. UFC is nearing the end of its broadcast deal with ESPN. There is no way they are going in to broadcast contract negotiations with their biggest PPV star out of contract. So the UFC are keeping Conor frozen out until the broadcast deal is signed.
A lot of fighters tend to end up like this for some reason. They probably miss the high of fighting in a arena.
Natural Adrenaline at the beginning, next best thing when that's not flowing, drug's. as you can see.

You can have a broken leg, but with a damaged brain you can have an irreversibly malfunctioning leg.
bro had like 3 fights in the last 5 years...what are u on? he had 1 ko 1 injury and one win in those 3 fights....what CTE? cocaine is one helluva drug
@@13bh12No. Every single fight he’s had since he began his career, has begun giving him irreversible brain damage, just like any other fighter before or after him. It’s not if he got KO’d in the fight, it’s when you get blows to the head everytime is when the brain develops CTE.
@@AM-vv2vk yeah hes had lots of cocaine over the years too...

For Conor to post all this stuff about his partner and kids, then to see him like this in bar high as F@k doing stuff with other gals, wonder if he does realize that one day he might lose the most precious things in life and money n fame was not the answer. Cause that woman of his has to be blind not to see.
Maybe she takes care of the kids instead of following gossip on social media. Let the man get plastered while he is still young, he'll die later anyway
I agree with both of you to some extent. You HAVE to enjoy yourself while you're young, but you also have to prioritize what is most important to you long term. That coke slut in the bathroom is not long term. It's publicly disrespecting the mother of your children. At least be discreet about it.
