That dash is already in christmas mood
This W140 seems to be in limp home mode (ASR light on and almost no power), plus whoever decided to cover the wood with that cheap carbon fibre film deserves prison.
Other than that, good video and great car.
Yes i tottaly agree. This car has problem with oil pressure. Oil pressure gauge always shows 0 bar, red warning light is on. ☹️ Those carbon in central dashboard and gas installation. 😠
I have a 97 w140 S600 and I drive it everyday to work. It’s been reliable to to me for the last 4 years. With proper maintenance the car should last forever.

Utrzymanie takiego auta taniej jak utrzymanie żony i dzieci, ale z takim autem czujesz się królem, a żoną i dzieci chyba chujem

@@AA-777-AA Most S classes are garbage in terms in reliability, some are better some are worse, but as used cars they are all endless money pits
Just keep it run and drive W140 is quiet reliable
But if you want a good ride and comfort drive W140 is a money pit
spent over 4000USD(at my palce laber is really cheap) in last 2years just fix it and it is base S320.
@@mekan That's the thing. If you live in a Country like Germany were they do MOTs every 2 years even your springs, tryres and stuff's gotta be good. You can't pass with a cracked windshield or even a ding if it's in the "driver's direct vision" :( That's why our roads aren't filled with old cars or even beaters. Toyotas and Hondas are just harder to get parts for and the parts are more expensive most of the times; that (and because of patrotistic reason) people think it's normal to throw away a car after 10 years or 140.000km

The m104 3.2 , M104.990 , 6 cylinder engine is superior to any v8 or v12 because the block is made of iron alloy. It´s almost identical to the diesel engine. In sweden they take it to 1200 hp (see Turbobandit) with turbo. The principal parts are all stock. No Mercedes aluminium engine resists that with stock parts. The first models were sold in 1991. The m104.990 in the 300SE has oil squirters for cooling the pistons. This great feature was discontinued in 1994, because they had to cut costs and they started to install plastic parts. The red limit is 6.700 rpm In 1995 models the limit is 6.400 and plastic intake manifolds. They fired the Chief Engineer Wolfgang Peter and others because they would never again spend 1 billion dollars of the 80´s , and 10 years, to develope one model.
The engine in standard cars, is tuned for long lasting purposes, not for racing or sports records aim. An elegant car is not supposed to be racing with other cars.
The oil pressure in the video, seems to me, is because the oil level is too low . Watch the yellow light.

Very very interesting analizis for the M104 old one !, Thanks for the info , I have the same car 300SE from 1992 year with the old design of M104 , I made total rebuild of the engine on 450 K km . now working veeery good. Again, thanks for the info, I didn;t kneel it that the block is Iron , I thought it was cast iron.....

The analog gauges from this generation were functional, classic, and just beautiful. I absolutely hate the LCD Screen gauges Mercedes (and other manufacturers) put in their modern vehicles these days.

Nice Mercedes Benz S-class W140 300SE. What it is wrong with your oil pressure ? 😐 Oil pressure gauge shows 0 bar, red warning light is on. Bad oil pressure sensor or bad oil pump ? ☹️

your ASR light is on... funny thing is, I also have the same issue with the oil pressure light turned on and on zero... love my w140
that check engine light must be because of the ASR, and it sounds like you are in limp mode

Mam zastrzeżenia jeszcze do wielu innych rzeczy, ale za dużo tekstu bym musiał napisać ;-)
W140 to jedyne auto gdzie właśnie tak wycieraczki śmigają ,ponieważ ta po lewej wycieraczka została dołożona w innych masz tylko jedna nasrodku wycieraczkę

The car needs water for the reservoir and it needs engine oil. Plus you can't be driving it while the ASR light is on.

It actually started in 1991. I have a 600 from '91. In the US they started in '92 thou.
