Doing the 7,7,5 chord with my middle finger instead of ring finger makes the pinky stretch to 9 easier! I was struggling until I realised you were hitting the 7's with your middle finger. Hell yeah, thanks Dunn! 🤘🔥
I’ve been experimenting with different fingering patterns and techniques for that riff. I ended up using the middle finger because I can roll between the notes easier. Was also trying the middle and ring fingers for the first two notes to make each note more defined.
@@DUNN.. Fair enough, I'd start with His Hero Is Gone and From Ashes Rise. Aus Rotten, Doom (the British band), Tragedy, Behind Enemy Lines and Skitsystem are pretty worthwhile too. It overlaps a lot with d-beat (stuff like Discharge). It can also overlap with black metal, ska, powerviolence and emo.
I’ll have to give the 7-7-5 pattern a try. Seems like that would fit right into some of the stuff I’m working on right now.
Awesome 🤘🏻
try adding the middle finger on the b string on the fret inbetween the a string rooted powerchord notes, very black metal
Sort of like a root 5 minor barre chord
@@DUNN.. yes, but without the G and both E strings, so you'd have fret 5 on A, fret 7 on D and fret 6 on B (for example), all others are muted
Makes me think of Watain with those dissonant chords like that.
@@sole__doubt very true, also behemoth use those quite a bit, and some pagan metal bands too! they sound pretty cool

This one is making my hands do a lot of stretching too. Its fun and with the tremolo picking it sounds killer.

darkthrone vibes
🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Glad to see your only a half step down in this one. Good stuff brother! \m/
I’m thinking of having a E standard guitar for black metal, really enjoy that tuning for this style
@@DUNN.. Yeah most of the BM I listen to is in E std.
@@DUNN.. What guage of strings do you use? Im using 9.5s at the moment.
Hails!!! so good, but evil !!! lol
🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Awesome.
Any chance you'll do an easy crust punk riffs video?
I could look into that style but to tell you the truth I’ve never heard of it

@@DUNN.. Im not sure what that is either. Im thinking The Exploited or Rancid is what that means.
@@skaldlouiscyphre2453 The only band in that list Ive heard is Discharge. The drummer I play with likes them. Too chaotic for me.
@@sole__doubt Exploited come close to sounding like d-beat, but aren''t Rancid just a poppy ska punk band?
