Thank you so much for making and sharing this video! I've been searching for how to do a balayage with a frosting cap, and couldn't find it. It was either just balayage or just frosting.
The highlighting cap good to use if your allergic to hair colour too because you can do all sorts of amazing techniques just using the cap i for one would know
When pulling the hair through the cap dose it matter how many to pull out. Or did you pull out from all the holes. Is there a pattern to go by ? Thank you 🤔🤷♀️
Shades EQ is not meant to be shampood out. Redken education will tell you add cool water and work into a shampoo lather (it lathers on its own. No need for shampoo. This helps prolong the longevity of the color) rinse, and then condition. So many stylists use this product incorrectly. Try it this way next time. ☺ great balayage!
Thank you! I used to think this also because someone had taught me that. However it’s been “debunked” Per se. it’s on the REDKEN website. It is still mixed with a peroxide and that needs to be shampooed out of the hair. Shannon Vanfleet has a video on all the shades gloss rules. She’s a certified REDKEN artist.
@@CourtneyBStylisteducation wow maybe this was an older method? Maybe an older formulation, Since we were both previously taught the same thing. I was also taught this from a certified Redken stylist. It was about 18 years ago though so they could formulated these and i was none the wiser hahahhaha. Wow so weird.
Beautiful results! I have an above the chin bob ... Any suggestions for doing an ombré look using a cap on light brown hair? Just pull less through the top?
Yes probably just pull heavier around the face and less as you go back. But if you’ll have to make sure where the color doesn’t go up all the way you blend it good and that can be hard doing yourself.
Hello, so am I correct in saying the hair that you did not pull out from the cap needs to highlighted in full/block using back coming technique and sectioning?
I was going to do caramel highlights so I was going to do the cap like you, bleach my hair with 30 developer cream, then I got a caramel color dye to put in afterwards. Should I tone my hair after I've bleached it?
Chocky Milk I can really suggest a formula without knowing what your starting natural color is but if your only wanting to go a little lighter then 30 will be to strong. Only really need 10 or 20. However color does not lift color so if you have previously colored hair, you’ll have to use a bleach and then tone it to the color you want. When lifting with a caramel color that shouldn’t need to be toned. Hope this helps! 😊
Thanks so much. I have like a chocolate brown hair and I haven't colored it in over 3 years so it's all natural. I was just wondering cause all salons I ask wanna charge me 80 bucks when I can buy the kit for 20, so thanks for the advice as I will be following the tips on this video for the look I want.
Chocky Milk again I can’t tell you how long to leave it on because everyone is different. When you see the hair get as light as you would like it that’s when your want to remove it being careful not to leave on to long to damage your hair. Also understand that when you pay a stylist to do your hair your not just paying for the product. You paying for their time and knowledge. We know the what’s and the whys of coloring hair. I have never been against anyone diy-ing hair at home. I DIY when I can also. However when it comes to lightening the hair there are so many possible variables to consider that a professional has been taught to handle. There is underlying pigment, which is where toning comes in. The health of the hair and why to use what developer. This is why I don’t give recommendations for what someone to use at home. Without seeing, feeling and knowing your hair history, I wouldn’t know. The only advice I am legally able to give you is to see a professional. I can say make sure to saturate evenly and don’t keep on longer than the directions recommend. Good luck to you. I would love to know how it turns out 😊.

CyanideVii Gaming thank you. I'm hoping to have another one soon using the magic cap.
I usually do balayage colouring on my own hair, but I'll try it with the cap today!
Great work!! I loved the final results, you mix so well both cap and foil and creates a beautiful look.
Thank you!
Wow this is subtle and natural but definitely different than before. I like it a lot!!!
That is GENIUS! and the result looks so Fierce and expensive ✨

@@missbehaving4710 i guess its because the dye doesn't actually touch your scalp/skin this way?
I wish u would of showed us the final result a little longer. That is my ONLY friendly criticism I can give u. 😉
Lol sorry. This is near the beginning of me editing. But you can also pause it so see.
Courtney B Stylist it’s so pretty we could look at it forever!!
Really it looks very natural the highlights
Great idea Im a new hairstylist and this would make things easier
I love this tree technique I'm going to try this when I'm at my hair goal length 😁gna keep it natural brown for now so it's healthy when it's longer
Lovely result i love it. What toner did you use please?
I just do a cap highlights ❤️i love your way of balyage so new love it

Great job! If I wear a side part should I apply the cap with my hair parted the normal way or just all brushed back?
Brushed back with give you more even highlight placement.
@@CourtneyBStylisteducation thanks so much!
This would make it so easier!! Thank you for the video!!

Hey! Was her hair brushed back or parted in the middle!! ❤️

Should I or should I not do this myself 😂
Valeria Parra did you do it? If so, how did it go?
Funny story the lady at Sally’s wouldn’t let me buy bleach because she told my sister and I that were to young to ruin our hair so 😂🤷🏽♀️
Valeria Parra weird woman lol
No lmao I looked like a leopard
Brianna Dickson you did? 😭😭😭

Do you use toner after the process or it's the pure colour from the bleach? Thank you.
Rhyme Midnight I’m one to always use a toner after highlighting. Very rarely I don’t. And I did here. 😊
Wonderful! Very well balanced!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Do you brush the hair back or do you part it in the middle before you put the cap on?
Esperanza Ontiveros brush the hair back, no parting
the same color you use for the pull, did you use for the back hair as well????
Yes it was FLASHLIFT lightener.
Keep up the good work!! Lots of tips!!!👌❤️
Wow 😍very beautiful 👍🏻
when you tone hair do you need to keep toning or is already toned
Toners are hair colors so they will eventually fade and may need to be refreshed.
What did you use to color her hair? Is it just color and developer or is there lightener as well?
I used Redken flashlight to lighten and toned with the Redken shades gloss.
So using a cap and foils? Thanks though
how long did u leave it on for
I dont remember. Very long ago. I would have left it on until I reached the desired level of lift.
what dye did u use
I use professional lightener.
Girl in the thumbnail looks like Emma Watson
At the end was that the picture of someone else? At least you should have shown the final results of the girl you worked on so hard.
??? That is the same girl.
