I am Thai. This recipe is so simplified but contains all the taste of Thai peanut sauce.👍👍 I recommend to consume all at one time, don't keep it. Usually Thai peanut sauce needs to be boiled.
Just made it minus the fish and hot sauce and it is amazing and my son loves it to and he is picky, that's why I left out the fish and hot sauce. But so good.
All you expert complainers are giving me indigestion. Looks great to me as a variation, and yes, I've traveled to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia. There were variations there, too. As for my variation, I'm gonna use crunchy PB. Lol
Well it's originally from Indonesia, not from Thailand. So the Vietnamese, Cambodian and the Thai are all variations to the original from Indonesia. Edit: just like Satay is originally from Indonesia, despite the Thai hijacking it as their own.

I would heat up the coconut milk and it would be the last thing I add so everything melts together nicely instead of a cold mix. after that the sauce should be room temperature.
@@philipwebb960 Sure, just because you asked for it. I guess no one can make suggestions because people like you want to be a smart ass and ask for a video. Just shows how lame people are.
Quit saying that it's not this food or that food or that it originated here and not there. People change the way they make food or the ingredients that are used so that it can compliment their taste buds depending on where they live. U think the food they serve in KFC or McDonalds in the U.S is the same as in Asia or the Middle East? NO! But no one complains that it's not American because they are serving lamb instead of beef or chicken. What matters is if it tastes good or not!!
Ppl complain because the title claims it's "thai sauce" when it's, according to the comments, more of an Indonesian one and 2. They just title it something that it isn't. Ppl take pride in their culture and don't like it being used for click bait so to avoid such trouble a mere "inspired" after the Thai would've sufficed even.
So... Fish sauce? As in fish stock? Re hydrated bonito flakes? Or something similar to oyster sauce? What's fish sauce? The only fish liquid I know is the one to make miso soup and other Japanese dishes, excuse my ignorance about this one.
Thanks for your question, A_Swift. You could skip the hot sauce, but the peanut sauce is really tasty with a little heat. Just cut back on the amount of hot sauce used. Here's a link to the original recipe so you may review the ingredients: allrecipes.com/recipe/72487/the-best-thai-peanut-sauce/
Hi Anastasia, thanks for your question. A hot sauce is typically a sauce that gets its kick from chiles or spicy peppers. Chiles are one of the cornerstones of Thai cooking. Hope you enjoy it!
All the ingredients are available in Thailand. Even in a Thai family, the cook chooses the ingredients to match his/her family's likes. As you move from one Asian country to another, there are variations. Thanks for this recipe. As a 70 year old Canadian, I am more tolerant.
A thoughtful addition to this video would be closed captioning considerations for the Deaf and hearing impaired, or at least put the recipe in the video description.
0:29 Why not just sit on that lime and get your skin all over it. I know cooking is a hands-on thing, but come on! Just roll the lime to make juice extraction easier.
+badjujuwan While I always appreciate anyone who takes the time to do a video and put it online, it did seem she was a bit inexperienced. Her knife skills need improvement.
nothing wrong with posting this video. but next time please dont put "authentic" word when you know nothing about asia. hate it when westerners mix thai with indonesia or viet or malaysia. just because we are from asia doesnt mean we eat the same food and have same culture. next time please do some research. its not that hard to just wikipedia-ing.

Yum. Best recipe on this I've seen yet. And I've seen many.
Just made it minus the fish and hot sauce and it is amazing and my son loves it to and he is picky, that's why I left out the fish and hot sauce. But so good.
after watching this i was inspired to buy premade thank you for the inspiration!
i know its been two years but you can make this! i believe in you! you can do it! it's much better than premade, imo.
@@MechakittenXyou think they ever made it themselves?
This looks great! Hot sauce seems like a good substitute for the chili paste in traditional Thai peanut sauce
I use Siracha
Love it I'm going to try this recipe thanks for this video

Crunchy PB? The liquid means the crunchy nuts are going to fall out of solution with the PB and settle to the bottom of the bowl.
@@xmarine73I'd probably add a few crunchy peanuts after.
@@mysticalmargaret6105 exactly
this looks so good.
I could almost see the individual atoms in each ingredient with how close it's zoomed in.
Just add the word "-inspired" in the titles from now on, so we don't have to listen to all these "experts".

This is really awesome 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That bit in the middle was so painfully slow.
Thank you!
taste wonderful
Looks delicious and versatile. How long would this keep in the fridge?
About 3 years.
They SAY 10 days. I'd keep it until gone.

You sound like a huge racist.
doesn't it need to be warmed?
Just made this. It's great. I use Sweet and Sour instead of Soy Sauce, though.
I would heat up the coconut milk and it would be the last thing I add so everything melts together nicely instead of a cold mix. after that the sauce should be room temperature.
Can't wait for your video.

Also narrator: uses like 3 cups 🤣
I think the million dollar question is not what country it comes from, but does it taste good?

Of course, we all adjust recipes to satisfy our taste, just like food chains do when they enter foreign markets, that is the beauty of food ;)

No fish sauce is similar to soy sauce
yea that looks authentic :S
what kind of hot sauce?
I'd recommend using Sriracha.
i like it :)
Sorry, I'm Thai but I think this is not Thai food.
I never seen it before.
My Thai neighbor uses Peanut butter, water, and soy sauce, Nothing more.
I went to Thailand many times when I worked in Taiwan.
Street food in Thailand is the best. I love the soup with fishballs.
What kind of hot sauce is best?
I like Siracha
These are recipes from members not from a company.
Yummieee
i think its malaysian.
Would still be good without hot sauce?

This is more like an Indonesian style which I like better anyway. Thanks for the recipe!
Which is the original version.

Allrecipes Thanx!
+Allrecipes could've done without the soapy tasting cilantro. lol
+morrius07 LOL cilantro tastes like soap to you?
In my bio class we learned about a gene some people have that make cilantro taste like soap :p
I was waiting for the part where the ingredients are heated until I saw serving🤔
No fish sauce and I’m in.
peanut butter
coco milk
water
green onion
garlic
hot sauce
soy sauce
lime juice
ginger
cilantro
I would replace the hot sauce with red curry paste for that authentic taste.
This shit is so good with hotpot! I'm a very picky eater & I can confirm its legit.

Idk what being Canadian has to do with anything, especially considering Canadas colonial history...
minus the fish sauce sounds yummy
Add this to karage
A thoughtful addition to this video would be closed captioning considerations for the Deaf and hearing impaired, or at least put the recipe in the video description.
minus the fish sauce, its a good sauce
Try Oyster Sauce! Its a great addition without it being too "fishy."
Yeah I'd replace the fish sauce with chicken stock and add cinnamon.
This is already a pretty "Americanized version" But if you want to take it a step further sure lol
I wouldn't go for the fish sauce, either.
Fish sauce??? No way for a vegetarian version
just don't add it
Replace with extra soy sauce. The fish sauce is just to make it salty
You say cilantro I reach for parsley
Thai Basil. Purple leaf great taste.

This is NOT Thai, really.
Omg dude! I gotta get to work n do this recipe all over again. There is not an ounce of peanuts in this sauce, no wonder it tasted grainy. Noooooo!
? PEANUT butter
Oh I thought it sucked. The worse peanut sauce ever. I hope it didn’t kill my love of my favorite sauce. Gross
This is a Lao Peanut Sauce! LAOS
They use real ginger and garlic and cilantro but when it comes to spice instead of real peppers they use bloody hot sauce
Wtf
its garlic, ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, palm sugar, lime juice thats it, u can add more bs if u want but thats the original
No peanuts???
Thai peanut sauce? Uh huh, uh huh.
I understand that this originated from Indonesia, but come on.. Even Malaysia has a better stake to claim than Thailand on this sauce :/
I'm Thai. Hate to say it but this is certainly NOT Thai food.
Always cook sauces like this.
Lazy cheaters robbing their guests of flavor.
you lost me at hot sauce
