Everyone else chuckled at it but we were just dying, like on the floor in tears.

I happened to watch an episode in Breakthrough S02 in National Geographic Channel where LSD was used to combat any form of addiction (drug, alcohol, tobacco). The results were kind of promising as the subjects of the treatment reported better mental state and were able to put their addiction at bay for several months

Tell Me This If it's injected in a vein (intravenously), it won't make much of difference since both injection sites lead to very rapid distribution of the drug in the blood stream. However, if you inject the substance in fat tissue under the skin (usually the case when drugs are being injected in the leg), then it will have a much slower effect because it has to reach the blood stream by diffusion first before it can take action in the brain.
