Actually a pretty good video compared of most "educational" videos on the subject, but one correction. The testicles shrinking isn't mainly due to feminizing effects, but due to the suppression of the HPTA that testosterone causes. In short, exogenous testosterone will cause the testicles to stop producing their own testosterone, which causes them to shrink.

Long term anabolic steroid user here. This is a pretty decent video. One thing it misses is that a lot of the side effects you hear about (anger, hair loss, liver problems, etc.) are not general to steroids as a whole, but unique to certain steroids specifically. Your liver really isn't at risk from any injectable steroid, it's oral steroids that harm your liver. The anger issue is really only present in stronger drugs like trenbolone, nandralone, or halotestin. I think the general populace tends to generalize all anabolics as just "steroids" but there is a world of difference between different compounds.
Wow, didn't know about that, I'm more inclined to think that injectable steroids are more dangerous, but this is justy though without any back up, is there a reason to use injectable over oral besides the liver problem?

Question: Whenever I see videos similar to this, I always wonder what the baseline intake the science is referring to for each type of steroid. For example, those same bodybuilders in the 50s-70s never had a lot of these issues. At that point it was still experimental. Doses were lower. Nowadays, the bodybuilders are bigger and one of the main reasons is using higher doses. In that same time we have seen these newer and younger athletes pass away due to issues and complications. So, what I’m asking is if there is a place where you can see the amounts that these studies refer to? Because there is a big difference in the intake for bodybuilders of the past and bodybuilders of today.
IDK, that answer's probably buried in medical papers somewhere, and may or may not be accessible online. Also if the dependency issue is true, then wouldn't those bodybuilders still run into those issues over the long haul? Especially as they got older and it got harder to maintain the muscle growth?
Purely anecdotal evidence, but I’d say why you see bodybuilders look more freaky and have health complications are likely due to a these few reasons; one, the use of HGH and insulin. Abusing these two can lead to enlarged organs. This is where the bubble gut likely comes from. In the 50s-60 bodybuilders likely just ran test and maybe nothing else. Trenbolone wasn’t even invented until 1963. Second, more people are doing bodybuilding now. This leads to a larger group, which leads to more people on the extreme end of the spectrum and also increases competition. More competition leads to people taking more drastic measures.
Just the sheer amount they take these days… When Arnold and the boys took 100cc, doctor-administered, a week of Test, today they take 500cc a day, if not more. Also, as mentioned, the variety available. Back in the day there was only Test, maybe one or two more, but nowhere near the volume of today!
Bodybuilders of the past used to take literally insane amounts of anabolic steroids, some even stating they were in the realm of 5000-10000mg per DAY. That would be considered by today's standard very high for a week, let alone every day. The main difference between then and now is the introduction of other components like HGH, IGF-1, insulin, etc. Bodybuilders are dying so frequently today because of insulin and diuretics. Both are extremely dangerous and extremely effective. The problem is unlike steroids, where you can be pretty flexible with your dosage for short periods of time and "push the limits" so to speak every now and again, with insulin, miscalculate your dose/carb ratio even a little bit and you can go into an instant coma/die. As for diuretics, every time you hear of a bodybuilder miss a show because they got the "flu" the day before, what they're really saying is they overdid the diuretics and are cramping so bad that their heart might stop... No bueno.
I heard that steroids were not banned for their harmful effects but because they give athletes an unfair advantage in sports. The law was a blanket law which then included recreational use of steroids. Doctors very often prescribe steroids to improve the health of their patients, especially when natural levels decrease with age.
The question could also be: How does loss of testosterone affect your muscles, bones, brain, internal organs and mental health. It's a mystery how anyone in the medical field could ban TRT like many nations have done.
Most of the information in this video is incomplete and some even false. I never used steroids but I'm a endocrinologist. There are certain medicine that can limit the feminization effect in males also called AI.

What blew my mind about the negatives was when I read elsewhere about professional cyclists dying of heart attack in their 20s, because of performance enhancing drugs. Another example is Lance Armstrong, he was pumping his body with a cocktail of different drugs, how did his body react... cancer.
I've been using AAS for years and most users will keep getting their bloods done every few months. This way you can see your cholesterol, liver function, kidney function and many other things. Testosterone aromatises into E, but you can keep this in check with AA medication. The side effects are not as bad/common as this video makes out but they are certainly there and you can't go into this expecting you wont be experiencing any of these.
I used them in the past and i feel really guilty about using them. If i could go back in time, i would've never used them. Now i lift without them and i can still enjoy working out alot and make strength gains (but it goes really slow).

@крест Лапотников No, that is a statement, and it is completely unrelated to the statement: Today, most of steroids users are actually not competitive athletes. Both are true. They are not opposites. Why would Ramy be a joke, and why is he relevant here? Yes he is a competitive athlete, yes he obviously puts d-bol on his cereal, but the statement: Today, most of steroids users are actually not competitive athletes, is still true, no matter how much gear Ramy takes and how much he wins. You are arguing nobody, because what you are saying is true, but nobody has said any different. The original comment just doesn't make sense, that's all I'm saying.

There's a reason why many billionaires and famous people turn to exogenous hormones, because they know it helps with life longevity
Yet, "fast food", "alcohol", and "cigarettes" exist. How about live your life the way you want to. It is not a tragedy to die doing the the things you love. The tragedy is to die having never enjoyed your life.

"some form of steroids, Testosterone being mandatory" Proves you have no idea what you are talking about. Anabolic steroids, growth hormones, SARMs, and testosterone are all completely different things. It isn't a "form" of steroids. "Almost all athletes" lmao citation needed

Real summary: we don't know the true health effects because there haven't been many studies focused on these use cases. All the extreme side effect are collected from a population that takes so much in quantity and variety of drugs that you can't determine what is causing what or at what dosages these effects arise.
@@thereasonabletroll68 we absolutely do know the health effects of anabolic steroids, both test derivatives and dht derivatives, it is best to use low doses between 1.5-2x the natural production of the high end population. so maybed 250-400. anything more than that risks your health after extended use and also has diminishing returns.
Don't take steroids recreationally. If youre trying to body build, you can do it with a proper diet and resistance training. If you're on a steroids, you're still going to need training and eat at a calorie deficit.
So this video is clearly against steroids...I use test because my body doesn't produce it anymore...and I like to live so ya I take testosterone....best decision of my life...and ya I'm jacked and very happy to share with anyone my success with testorsterone

Think it’s funny steroids have been banned in sports for decades and yet men can now compete in women’s sports with the resent 2021 Tokyo Olympics being a prime example when a fella calling himself Lauren Hubbard from New Zealand competed in the WOMEN’S over 87kg weight lifting but failed to complete 3 of his lifts in the SNATCH and lost. Unfortunately back home in NZ he was awarded SPORTSWOMAN of the years.
My personal steroids experience was only positive, you just need to the abundance of research is required to execute a cycle property. Most negatives usually only happen if you abuse it. But then again those who we know that did abuses such as Arnold, Sylvester Stallone and Van dam still managed to have kids and maintenance muscle
If you are cycling, you are automatically abusing it. In these cases, the dosages are always (as far as i know) much higher than those recommended by the manufacturers/laboratories, that is, much higher than what is considered safe
@@danielwinicki that’s a nice opinion considering you don’t personally know him If one or two cycles cured his tenhdonitness for the next few years vs a doctor prescribing pain meds to mask the real problem, where’s the abuse ? Pro’s outweigh the cons Everyone has a different background story
So I'm legit curious: can micro dosing steroids promote muscle growth with minimal detriments? It's stated that for rec use people usually exceed medically prescribed amounts... But what if you go less than the prescribed amount?
You would affect your natural testosterone production which could be detrimental over a long period of time. It wouldn't be beneficial and instead just negative to health
Look up testosterone replacement therapy. Basically answer to your question is that it is used in “micro” doses compared to what bodybuilders cycle forever can make you just in the upper range of normal for test and this can be good. An actual micro dose less than that would literally do nothing. Remember it’s not a binary of do you have steroid in your body or not, test is the main natural anabolic steroid and any dose that doesn’t really increase over your natural amount much will have no muscle building effect. It may have a bag effect since if your body detects exogenous testosterone then it may produce less of its own to compensate and when you are using so little it is a problem of actually reducing how much anabolic steroid is actually in your blood.
I would like to use steroids just to train more often, but the price and side effects look rather unacceptable. So, let's wait for a better version of steroids without side effects or some kind of genetic engineering.
The University of Nebraska football program at one time had a top rate steroid use program and were very good at not getting caught. If you watched their program you'd see guys get drafted really high by the NFL and almost always get injured. Why? The NFL system was harder to cheat on and guys had to go off the juice, when forced to go off.................performance plummeted and injuries abounded.
Your testicles don’t shrink because of more estrogen, they shrink because your body limits/shuts off it’s endogenous testosterone production when you inject superphysiological amounts
It's hilarious how much average people think steroids are magical. Ronnie Coleman would still out-train anyone with or without drugs. You can't inject dedication, ambition, passion, and hardcore work-ethic.
I have always wondered why professional fighters and athletes of different demanding sports get old so incredibly quickly after they retire. I stop going to the gym for a year and I remain similar to my last day, then again I recover my prime in like 3 months of working out. These athletes look fantastic during competition and the moment they retire they fall into pieces. Could that be also the steroids usage?
The body is an amazing thing. Instead of just overloading with testosterone, it converts the excessive test into estrogen, trying to balance things out (and punishing your for trying to hack nature, by giving you man boobs). I'm totally agnostic but this kind of thing is what makes me scratch my head once in a while.
Not to forget that people who use recreational anabolic steroids still need to create sufficient resistance (aka training/lifting weights/eccentric training) for their muscles to grow, otherwise the steroids won't help with muscle growth. :')
There is so much wrong information in this video... Most of the problems they mention steroids can cause are non-problems with the simple addition of an aromatase inhibitor and a post-cycle therapy, which everyone who did a little research on endocrinology and anabolic steroids would know
Most of the information in this video is incomplete, and some even false. I never used steroids, but I'm an endocrinologist. There is particular medicine that can limit the feminization effect in males, also called AI. For women, it's a different story. That's why most women don't use hardcore steroids and stick to far burners.

As for the medical records, that’s why I’m hoping the video publisher answers. They may or may not have a clearer picture on it.

My personal steroids experience was only positive, you just need to the abundance of research is required to execute a cycle property. Most negatives usually only happen if you abuse it. But then again those who we know that did abuses such as Arnold, Sylvester Stallone and Van dam still managed to have kids and maintenance muscle
I don’t use steroids, but they definitely work, and they work very well. I’m more afraid of adolescents using steroids than grown, educated adults.
If you are cycling, you are automatically abusing it. In these cases, the dosages are always (as far as i know) much higher than those recommended by the manufacturers/laboratories, that is, much higher than what is considered safe

If one or two cycles cured his tenhdonitness for the next few years vs a doctor prescribing pain meds to mask the real problem, where’s the abuse ? Pro’s outweigh the cons

If steroids were only positive without any negative side effects everyone would use them.
"Im natural", says any UA-cam influencer. "I eat chicken and brocolli" says every movie actor. On and on and on.
Not worth it. Gonna shut down your endogenous or your natural Test production yet not reap the benefits of the steroids.

The NFL system was harder to cheat on and guys had to go off the juice, when forced to go off.................performance plummeted and injuries abounded.

Yes
The body is an amazing thing.
