Thank you for all the kind comments! I will continue to post videos, just not as often as before. Oh, and my ribs have completely healed, so I’m all good now👍
Absolutely great news to hear that your ribs have completely healed. I’m guessing that also goes for the concussion that you stated in the vlog that also occurred. Looking forward to your next vlog when it happens!
Glad to see the FJ40 returning. Thanks for the videos.
I wish UA-cam payed more so we could continue to enjoy your builds vicariously. Your channel shows how average, ordinary guys can get into serious builds and restorations. Please keep posting, even if it’s only occasionally. I’m still a subscriber and I can’t wait to see the FJ40 finished.
:(
I fully understand the decision. UA-cam does not pay their fair share. I came to watch your videos after seeing you on Super Fast Matt's S600 video and I will continue to watch whatever you put out. Thanks for your work, I am seriously envious if your skills.
Sorry to hear this. One of the best channels out there IMHO. Good luck in all you do my friend.
I wondered why we hadn't seen any videos lately.
I look forward to any new videos you post in the future. I really appreciate them.
Thanks, and Woof to Walter.
Thanks so much for the vlog update. I was always curious what you did for your regular job as I know UA-cam videos pay very little. Glad to hear that you are all right after your motorcycle mishap. Looking forward to whatever vlogs you are able to put out in the future as I will continue to follow your well-informed episodes that you produce. Again, thanks much for the updated information and look forward to your next vlog.
Ouch! I hope you are doing well...that you've recovered completely! Someone once told me that it's not "if" you wreck a bike...it's only "when". You can be as careful as a little old lady in a tea room, but end up slipping on someone else's spilled tea. Stay safe. Do what you can. We will wait for your videos.
Was relieved to hear you’re only slowing down a bit and not shutting the channel down. I found your landcruiser series shortly after I bought my 72’ and have watched every other build so far. Hands down one of my favorite channels. Looking forward to the next one!
Great channel - totally understand and wish you nothing but the best, especially speedy recovery from the ribs accident. Looking forward to more content! 🤙
I deeply appreciate the update. I think you are an amazing fabricator, mechanic, and restorer. I throughly enjoy your videos. It will be sad for me not to see you as often, but nonetheless I will be most glad to see you from time to time! May God richly bless you!
Loved the 356 build I binged watched all the vids while on holiday in Mull Scotland. Thanks for the memories 😁
Absolutely the best channel on you tube ...looking forward for more videos and good luck.
Thanks for the update. You do an excellent job in showing what you are doing with no talking. Your editing is excellent. I have learned a great deal, and have been inspired to one day restore my father-in-law's 1964 MGB, that has been sitting for close to 43 years. Hope the best for you and your family.
I've often wondered how so many You Tubers can put all their eggs in one basket. Good luck in what ever happens . I very much have enjoyed your projects.
Can’t wait to see you finish the FJ40
My favorite vehicle. Thanks for all of your videos. I’ve really enjoyed them.
Thanks RT
Really enjoyed your hard working videos, but I understand your thinking about getting back to the day job. Good luck for the future and looking forward to any new videos. 🇺🇸👍🏻
Jerod, I completely understand your position. My wife and I have been avid followers of your channel since the Corvair and will continue to always look forward to future videos. We wish you a speedy and full recovery. 🙏
I respect you for going back to work and not being like most of UA-cam these days who beg and ask for money when UA-cam is not paying them.
Jarrod, I only recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I watched several of your builds and found the quality of your builds and quality of your video editing to be exceptional. I also like your vehicle selection and your attitude toward restoration and preservation. I'm a bit stumped that after 3 years and 300 videos, your subscription numbers weren't higher. Curious how the "silent" builds fed into the yt algorithm for views over time. Can't wait for your future builds and updates. Thanks for all of your contributions.
I wondered what happened to you…….
Glad you will still be posting…
Thanks for the update, hope you heal up quickly.
Jared; your contributions have been absolutely awesome. I hope your economic situation stabilizes again; it hasn’t been easy for the past year or two for many of us. Wish you the best in your life and will stay tuned in. Thank you.
I was hoping you were OK. Your regular postings were fantastic and your rebuilds and etc are wonderful. It’s understandable that you would have to move back into a more financially secure position. I will be patient and awaitn
I am sorry to hear of your situation. As I told you before, your videos weren't showing up as often as they were, which I thought they would when you subscribe and hit the notifications. I will definitely miss the regularity of the videos and Walter.
Thank you for the update! I was thinking about you when I saw a Fiat very similar to yours two days ago here in Germany. Spring is here and people are taking their classic cars out for a spin… Anyway, take your time and I will keep watching your videos because I really enjoy your channel. Cheers from Europe! 🇪🇺🇩🇪
Glad you are all right and will stay tuned!!
I will say, I enjoy your channel a lot compared to other car channels. Why yours hasn’t had a ton of growth while other channels that are more click-baity and have a lot less actual car content do is beyond me. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this channel
Gotta fund parts, respect.
Hey Jared! I watched a lot of your videos, espacially those of the Porsche 356. This was an amazing project. Thank you so much. I hope you‘re gonna think it over, because I really miss your „silent built videos“. Greetings from Germany! Michael
Gotta make the best decision for you! Also, broken ribs SUCK.
I’m glad you updated your information. I was thinking maybe something happened to you and that was the reason for the long absence. Understandable that you can’t continue on a regular basis but I am patient and await the FIAT motorcycle!
I have really enjoyed your videos and have looked forward to each one. You are a very talented builder and I always thought you must make a bunch of 💰elsewhere with your skills. Several years ago, I restored an FJ40 and it was fun and rewarding. So, I will be looking forward to seeing you finish yours.
I'll continue to follow you either way.
If you want my advaice, you should start a Patreon account, trust me you will have a lot of followers helping!
Just want to let you know that i was one of the guys that watched every single video you have posted, thank you for all the effort you make to share your projects and knowledge with your followers.
Please keep posting, even if it’s only occasionally. I really enjoy watching the way you work. You show how if you want a dream project can really come through. Really cool. I have turn the bell on.
Sorry to hear it, but totally understand. Have totally enjoyed your work and you are the reason I have my first jeep, an 89 Islander, in my garage. Still will look forward to new content, just not as often. Sticking with my measly patron donation at least until the end of the year….you’ve earned at least that
Jared, all the best with the new (old) job. It's disappointing that you can't earn decent money with your very high quality content. It's puzzling why some channels attract lots of traffic with relatively low effort and content quality. Do keep posting new content -- we'll be following you still.
Good information to know. From the outside it seems like everyone is making money with this but more stories are coming out about the lack of money.
Good luck with a day job. I’ll still watch when videos pop up.
I really enjoyed your Model T series. I didn't know much about the T's and now I do.
I wondered what was going on, and hoped you were well. You really produced awesome content, I've spent so many hours watching your projects. My wife watched along with me, waiting to catch a Walter appearance! Take care, and put yourself first for a while! We will be looking out for the occasional video updates.
Have enjoyed watching and learning can’t wait to see the Land Cruiser when you get to it
LIfe always gets in the way of the fun stuff!! I totally get it though. All the best Jared and I'll look forward to your videos when you post them. Aloha from Hawai'i!!
Gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck with your day job. We all can't be a Cleetus McFarland
Glad you doing good as can be. And money doesn’t grow on trees and I understand you are good at what you have showing us so best of luck . And be careful with your electric bike.
Thanks very much for the courtesy of letting us know what's in store for your channel. Some others that I follow just fall off the radar without a peep. Ouch about the concussion and ribs. Hope you mend quickly.
Thank you very much for all your delivery of knowledge in each of the videos... you are a great teacher, even if you don't say a word, and it is appreciated.
May this change be fruitful for you and your family... a hug from Chile and I will be waiting for the next TLC videos
aw man, im very sorry to hear that! i jjust bought a 1980s fj40 and your videos have been great help!
im actually very happy to see this video since i though something bad might have happened to you!
best of luck on whatever comes next and keep at it with your awesome builds
Thanks Man ! I Have enjoyed you and your work ! Like your out look on life ! Live Life ! Straight Ahead ! ✌😎
Sorry to hear you're not going to post as much, but totally understand. Wishing you make some BIG $ back at your day job, so you'll start posting again more frequently! ; )
Always looked forward to your vids. Definitely one of my favorite channels. Thanks for all your hard work!
😢 I always loved your videos! Thank you!
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Totally understand. Your content and editing are great. I’ll be watching for you out here.
Appreciate watching your work, you do very careful work. Especially like your model T project and how you also explained how to drive it properly. I’m an old guy but never touched a T. Of course drove model A. All the best, Kimball
Understand. Thank you for your videos. I´ll be waiting updates.
Just watched this. I just want to say you do great work and on lovely vehicles and with a tasteful non showy ethos. You also produce such nice calm videos with no shouty bs or hideous music etc etc. You are also just a likeable chap. So thanks, I’ve really enjoyed your video series.
Thank for the update and totally understand. You have great talent, so still looking forward to the videos you give us!
Thoroughly enjoyed your videos. UA-cam compensation or lack of has driven some other committed content producers like you away. Good luck getting Job 1 back on the front burner and I’ll look forward to future videos even if infrequent
Please go ahead with Land Cruiser project, it's my favorite by far. I am interested in the engine EFI conversion. All the best.
Kicker at the end. Hope you are healing up fast and get some passive income rolling again. Look forward to getting some SoCal drive together to see one of your projects in person.
I'm sorry to hear that! Thank you for all the great videos though man. It's been great watching.
Ouch! Sorry about your electric bike accident; hope you are mending OK. I will miss your posts, but I understand your situation. Good luck (but please...no more billboards!!) :)
Thank you for sharing this. I've just started releasing my resto series on yt, and feel a bit bummed out because it's not doing so well compared to the effort I put into it. And I guess it's at least comforting to know it doesn't really matter. Maybe unless you luck out and become one of the top 0.001% who make all the money.
Wow, that sucks. I enjoyed your content. Kinda discouraging for people trying to start a channel. I’ll stick with ya Jared. Put the videos when ever you can. Stay safe buddy.
Always been looking forward to your updates and impressed by your level of skill in whatever you do. I guess you have a good support community of people around, living in LA🌞. Sad to hear that YT doesn’t pay considering the level of inspiration and input your videos give. However, hope you will recover without too much pain from those broken ribs and Thank You for your earlier Vlogs and I’m looking forward to the one’s to come. Geetings from a snowy and cold month of May in central Norway🇳🇴
Well shit. I do have to say I have enjoyed you vids, especially the 356. You editing and just the facts style of commentary have been a pleasure to watch. I've never seen the Fiat conversion you are doing so that has my interest peaked for sure. Thanks for sharing the monetary gains portion of you UA-cam involvement. Good luck and see you at the shows.
You and little Walter always made my day! I do understand that you can't make a living off of $2.00 an hour though. I was looking forward to the Fiat being finished and my favorite was the Model T project. I know your family will always come first so good luck to you and may God bless you.
My impression is that the big time UA-camrs make most of their money from Patreon and selling merch. They also have their own websites and a heavy presence on Facebook and other social media, which may provide additional revenue streams. Guys like Tyler Hoover also have gigs doing TV shows and webcasts. :)
I'm glad that you're smart enough to realize that the cards are stacked against you with U Tube, and they don't deserve the quality that you put out, so rather than beat yourself up trying to make a few more bucks...move on and up.
Good Luck !
Dear Jerod, thanks for many great, fun and educational videos. Fully understand your decision. I have the bell on, so I can see when there's any news from you again, but just take your time. Good luck with everything.
Here I got my 356 inspected and registred and have driven it 250 miles this year, slowly getting over all the minor faults.
I enjoy your content, but I understand your situation. In 2019, I really considered starting a channel, bought a camera and some support. But after researching how, and the time and dedication, that’s required, I abandoned that idea. I will not unsubscribe you, and watch, whenever! I do really like my camera, and the other stuff I bought, so I’m not bummed!
Life always gets in the way of a good thing.
I've really enjoyed watching your ideas come to fruition, as I like tinkering with cars and bikes myself.
I'm sure that putting more time into your business now will pay off later with plenty of time to explore your passion.
Still, I'm keen to see the Fiat progress up to driving stage.
You are brilliant in all your projects. I've been waiting for your updates...and this explained the situation. Good luck, stay safe and we'll catch up, down the road!!🇺🇸🎩🇺🇸
I totally get it…. I’ve created some content for my channel and know how much work goes into it. Especially trying to record footage while doing the work by myself. Then editing…. It took all the fun out of the project.
Thank you for all the content and good luck to you Jared.
…. And we would love to see Walter next time you pop in.
Very nice videos saludos desde San Diego California 👍🏼🙋🏻♂️💪🏻💯
I’ve enjoyed and learned from your videos. Good luck with rescuing passive income contracts. If you ever want to sell the LC body cart i would be very interested in buying it. In the meantime, I look forward to your next video. Best!
I enjoy watching your video. Their content are good and great on production. Lots of time, one will find other YT videos hard to watch or follow and ruin the content. Will still look forward when your new ones post. Thank you.
Good luck to you bro!! looking forward to seeing more of your videos for me they are some of the best. Thank you for all your content so far. Hopefully you get a good payday so you can make more videos
Good luck and thank you
Dude! Love your channel! I started watching for the Land Cruiser and got hooked. Enjoy all your projects. Time to give up two wheeled vehicles, but glad you are healing/better. Yes do a day job but please keep posting videos even if only once a month. If you sell the Land Cruiser when it is done can I be first in line to buy it? Your channel is awesome!
Best of luck man. I’ve always enjoyed your content and the vids on the FJ40 are on my regular rotation when I need something to watch on my downtime. Looking forward for the next one. Godspeed.
I'm late to comment on this but wanted to thank you for your super-inspiring videos. I'm sorry UA-cam doesn't pay enough to be full time. I'll look forward to the occasional installment.
Ouch….. I assume you’re all healed up now. I have some catching up to do….. 👍👍😎👍👍
I really enjoy your videos! I hope that it ends up kicking off anyway and you can eventually build cars full time.
Sad news but we understand
Best to ya
We will miss you. Have fun with your real life
Well, you have to make a living, and I was curious how you could make a living off of UA-cam even with a very high level of viewership. You are very talented, both in the restoration of cars and editing videos. I particularly liked your Model T project. Sorry you have to slow down the pace, but it is what it is. I will still look forward to what ever projects you film in the future.
Thanks!
Enjoy your posts - will still be looking out for you when you post in the future !
I appreciate that!
I have always wondered what it takes to make a living wage off of UA-cam…turns out - a lot!
Thanks for the insights and - wow - glad your electric bike accident wasn’t worse!
Good Luck
thanks for sharing. sorry it didnt pay better
It’s frustrating that a person can make millions on TicToc by shaking their a#%%%SS and a legit dude like you can’t. Good luck to you.
Ouch!
I just found your channel is really cool, sorry for you bike crash, I have done the same while riding my Mountain bike 3 ribs + collarbone + concussion 🤦♂️
Thanks. Yeah the broken ribs sucked for a while.
Hello mate! I love you videos and hope to see more in the future! I'm thinking about getting a 23 model t touring car but was curious and wanted to ask someone who actually restored one to working condition, how much did it cost to get it into street worthy condition?
Many thanks from ohio!
In this video I break down the cost
ua-cam.com/video/9wu3WAo6w0g/v-deo.html
I have a channel, with only 80 subscribers...20K TOTAL views, LOL, but your channel I was hoping would be able to at least pay for your projects, because it's the kind of channel I like watching. Hopefully you will eventually get more viewers. Having said that, I think the people who live off of UA-cam actually have sponsors (car products, for example) or they have patrons. It seems like youtube alone does not do, maybe it did in the past, unless you have 100K view videos on a regular basis. I'm just guessing. I'm cheering for you man!
Yeah, you need to consistently get millions of views per month to have any chance at living off the revenue from UA-cam. I currently average about 50k views per month and earn around $200.
👍👍✌️
ok bye
As a stray thought, have you considered taking your channel to a bonafide digital marketing agency to get their feedback on whether it can become a real moneymaker? These agencies are a dime a dozen and it seems that every other kid on the block is running one but maybe give a call to Hawke Media and Digital Niche Agency (DNA) in Los Angeles and have them take a look. I owned a successful analog agency before digital and now am trying to get a couple of smartphone apps to market. I go to a lot of the tech get-togethers in L.A. If the stars lined up I would go to either of these places for sales. You've got a quality product with known results. They could tell you whether the channel can become financially effective and how much it would cost you to give it a shot. It's worth making a call.
Thanks for the info, I’ll look into this
