Looking forward to your video on how to program Zenology to work with the Aerophone! It has always bothered me that the Aerophone sends MIDI Velocity messages that don't match the actual breath strength, and I really want to know how to solve that elegantly.
Do you think you could do a video for similar or equivalent programs to use for Windows users? My bad, just saw that this will be the 2nd video. Looking forward to it.
Fantastic--thanks so much for making this video! Exactly what I was thinking when considering which Aerophone to purchase recently. I ended up splurging for the AE-30 so that I could have the standalone sounds and not be tied to a separate device for the sound engine. Will still be nice to use this process to access and create new sounds in Zenology Pro, with the added bonus of being able to import them to the AE-30 for later use independently if they work well. I forgot how easy and fun it was to use Mainstage, which I used to spend a lot of time with before diving into the world of Logic Pro X (which is nice for multitrack recording, but more complicated than I need most of the time for practice/sound design/performance.
Hi Alistair and thank you for your really good videos! English is not my main language, but you speak so clearly that it's a real pleasure to listen and follow you. My question now : there is a big difference in price between Zenology and Zenology Pro. Do I absolutely need the pro version to use it with my AE-10 ?? Thanks for your answer, I'm really looking forward for the next video about these interesting settings.
Hi Alistair, really liking your videos. I'm looking at purchasing either the AE 05 or the AE 10. Where I am the AE 10 is on special. Only 200AUD more than the AE05. I was going to get the GO. And maybe still will as I think the compact size and bluetooth are useful. My question is, the price doesn't bother me, and is it better to have the extra octave range, more onboard sounds and flexibility with control on the AE10? Once again thank you for your very helpful and informative videos.
I would say yes. For me anyway the extra sounds and octaves and controls on the AE-10 add quite a bit. I suppose it just depends on your needs and skill level.
As I said in this video, I don't actually use a PC at all but the Camelot program that I will use in the next video is both PC and Mac so should help. However the same process will work with any DAW that can load VST or AU instruments. Thanks for watching.
Many, many thanks for this tutorial. Really fantastic. I wanted to ask if Roland Cloud only serves to download Zenology, or will it be necessary to keep the subscription in the future? Also on the Roland website, there are 3 types of subscription to Roland Cloud (Core, Pro, Ultimate), what is necessary to buy? Thanks a lot. A greeting.
As long as you have the Pro or Ultimate level you will have access to Zenology Pro as part of the subscription. You also have the option to purchase a lifetime key for Zenology Pro which will allow you to have access as long as you have a Roland Cloud account.
Thank you for this! As a beginner could you suggest a suitable “audio interface” for a Mac and a an IPAD. My IPAD Pro doesn’t have a separate output connection ……..?
Enjoyed your "stuff" on UA-cam and found a pointer in a post in a FB group for wind controllers / synthesizers. I own a AE-01 (mini) & Zenology Pro how much of this could apply? I'm also a Win 10 user with Cubase 11. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!
Hi. Pretty much everything will work the same for the AE-01. Of course there is no bite control but the breath control and the response of the Zenology pro will be very similar.
So question…I thought that these instruments would work pretty much plug and play with Ableton Live and other DAWs? Is that not the case? I was about to take the plunge on the 10, but if it takes this much work I may rethink this.
The answer is yes and no. The DAW will record the audio from the Aerophone just like recording any audio source. Where is gets a little more variable is how well the Aerophone will play the soft synths with the DAW. You will almost always get some response but the dynamic range may well be limited until you make some adjustments.
Hi. I have windows 11 and zenology pro wont work on it!!!!! SO..... I just want to edit the auto volume function as you mentioned ..it is set to auto but we want to set it to fully breath control. HOW ????
Thanks for another great video. I am anxiously awaiting video #2 to set this up in Windows.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks for making this video! I haven’t been ready to make the plunge to buy a AE-30, so doing this with my AE-10 is perfect!
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much, Alistair! You are much appreciated
You're so welcome!
12:38 such emotion ! You should record audio books my friend

Yes. You have to have Zenology Pro to do the editing of the sounds so they work properly with the Aerophone.

Hi Alistair ! Your videos are fantastic, how long will we have to wait for the second and third parts? I'm already looking forward to them!
I’d like to say very soon but the truth is each one of these takes me upwards of 20 hours from start to finish.
Thanks, I'm looking out to the video about the windows version! :-)
Maybe in the future also a tutorial for the Roland Android app and this aerophone?

Really looking forward to the CAMELOT demo as a windows user =]
Still waiting =[
Sorry for the delay. My day job tends to take up a lot of my time and making videos is very time consuming.
Good lesson for Main Stage, it helped a-lot! Can we use Zen Core for an EWI?
Yes you can use an EWI to control Zenology. 😊
Wow, thats big news! I'm sure if more people knew that they would get a subscription. Maybe you can talk about how to do that in one of your videos?!

@@rjones1357 Hi, very well, thanks a lot.

Have a look at the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2.
Just got a GO, running it through my FL Studio DAW, at highest setting, VERY noticable latency, any tutorials for working it out?
Not that I have.
Are you using Bluetooth? Do you have a good audio interface? Did you set the audio latency in FL?
@@isax.academy my mistake was not giving the GO it's own channel in my DAW...I appreciate your prompt reply ..

Good morning! Do you known why am I unable to buy/install Zenology at this time?
I’m afraid I don’t. Have you sorted it now?

So sorry. I haven’t used Windows in more than a decade so I don’t think I can be helpful. Anyone else?
Did you try re installing Roland Cloud?

Hi there. Do you mean as saxophone keys or to use them in alternative ways?
@@isax.academy Thanks .... i have understand it !!!
