Alistair, you are simply amazing. Your presentations are totally excellent. I just bought an Aerophone AE-20 and am loving it! I have played the Alto Recorder for many years and can jam with any type of music. I use a remote mic with a Loudbox Mini amplifier, and it allows the Alto recorder to sound wonderful. But it is still a million miles away from the Aerophone! So I am playing the AE20 using recorder fingering. I just figured out how to connect my iphone via bluetooth to the AE20 whereby i can jam with any music i want. Thanks to this video i just figured out how to get presets on my iphone. I had downloaded the editor app and discovered i have to use the editor pro app. My next goals/hurdles will include connecting to Garage Band and learning about the embouchure and how to bend notes. Not sure if the thumb wheel is a viable alternative. I watched your videos over and over before buying the AE20, especially the comparison between the 20 and the 30. I can't figure out growl on the 20. Thank you Alistair and i intent to check out your isax academy and the isax fb page as well. Cheers!
Hey Alistiar! Just a shout-out and thanks for making these videos! What a wonderful reference for anyone buying one of these wind controllers. I have wanted one for years and just received my Aerophone Go today! I'll be rewatching many of your videos with it in hand for the first time. Thanks again!
Your Videos are extremely helpful. Without them I probably would of sent my Aerophone Pro back. Thank you very much and I definitely look forward to seeing more of your videos and getting better acquainted with the instrument. 🙏
So HELPFUL Once again my friend! Hope everyone understands and appreciate the hard work & Time it takes for you to do these HELPFUL VIDEOS….Thank you sir..
Thanks for the video. Can the app work through a hard wired connection between the AE-30 and computer/mobile device? When you were adding the second tone to the scene I was wondering what that change sounds like on the instrument. Any excuse to hear you play, I guess. I look forward to seeing your video covering the tone editor. Again thanks.
Really helpful video Alistair, thank you so much. Having downloaded some Sound Packs and experimented with creating my own scenes, I now need to find out how to delete, move and re-name some user scenes. But I can't find any instructions on this. I've tried overwriting existing scenes but the AE20 won't let me do that. Can you help?!!
You can certainly save a scene you have on the Aerophone to any memory location but you’re right when importing sound packs there does seem to be a bit of a bug. I tend to just import them then copy them to wherever I want.
You've done a great job. Thank you so much. I haven't got an Aerophone yet but consider purchasing an AE-20. Will the editor work for that one as well?
Editing on the Pro itself is possible it it’s MUCH easier on the app. You cannot edit the detailed individual scenes on the Pro itself. You need the app for that. Only the System settings can be changed directly on the Pro.
Just received my Pro 30 and love it, the AE10 was great but what a transition to the Pro AE30, it does feel play like a professional instrument. The only slight disappointment is the case, I thought the case for the AE10 was safer. Does anyone know if they make a decent stand for the Pro 30 yet, I tried Saxrax and they don’t seem to have one yet.
Certainly. On the Aerophone just press and hold menu, select the new scene position and copy it there or in the Librarian page on the app there are more alternatives.
Thanks Alistair. Just a practical editing question. If, in your initial editing example, you added 3 more parts that were the same part as #1, can you then hear that by playing before you write it in? Also can you then detune those added parts, or would that be accomplished by adding a "chorus" function to those parts?
You can great the parts before writing it in and detune the parts along with all kinds of other stuff and chorus to the part and/or scene, maybe to the tone too I just can’t recall at the moment
Thank you very much for this Video 🙂 Can you tell me where I can find the files that I exported with the Librarian to my Android Phone? Do you know in which folder it is stored? Looking forward to your iSax Aerophone Course 😀
I’m so sorry, I don’t think I can help you there. On an iPhone we have a files app that where you can view the files. Did you want to back them up or something?
@@isax.academy Yes, I downloaded some Scenes from Roland Cloud and I to backup them. I will try to do it over a Cloud Service. Thank you very much for your fast replay 🙂
I just bought the ae30, Do you know why in all the Brass winds, some times the sound is like if it turns off even I am still blowing? like a muffle sound, I don't know what am I doing. But it only happen with Brass wind tones, not with woods or others. Thanks for your help
This seems strange. Did you try a factory reset? Also make sure the internal wind pipe is not obstructed. Also try a different breath response setting.
Hello, my name is Adriano, I’m a brasilian guy. Please, how can I play two kind of instruments at the same time on my aerophone Ae30? There is any video explaining this?
Hi there Adriano. This is exactly the sort of thing that is covered in the www.iSax.academy advanced course. There are lots of videos there covering many different tone combinations. You should check it out. The basics are, you have to do this in the Aerophone editor app. You’ll see there are 4 tone slots there where you can activate up to 4 sounds at the same time. Then there’s tons of controls on how they’re each respond differently to your playing. You can make some very interesting combinations.
@@isax.academy Thanks for your Reply Alistair, I would like to change the effects or add effects to the sounds and even layer some some sounds but cannot find any reference to this. Plus when I open the app I cannot find any thing to do with this procedure.
Hello 💁🏼♂️, one question to the FILES Storage. Do you have an idea where I can delete a library which I don’t need anymore that I saved in Files on the app? Thanks a lot 🤓 Peat
Hi Alex ... Good wishes from India... Is it possible to learn the Aerophone without having any prior experience in music. There are lot many Saxophone teachers but none on Aerophone. Your suggestion and guidance is very important
Hi. No you can’t get SWAM into the Aerophone it’s just a patch name I use when controlling SWAM from the Aerophone. I have certain settings I use on the Aerophone that are different when I’m playing SWAM.
Hello :), thank you for your great videos! I saw that you are using an iPad with the AE-30 app. Do you have an idea why my iPad Pro (1st Generation SW 15.5) doesn't connect to my Aerophone (SW 2.03)? With my iPhone 11 Pro it works. Mysterious ... Greetz from Austria :)
Hi. Are you sure the iPhone isn’t grabbing the Bluetooth connection before the iPad? Try switching off any other Bluetooth devices and see if that helps. Always worth turning Bluetooth off and on on the iPad as well.
@@isax.academy Thank you for your nice answer but that also didn't work. I reinstalled the app on the iPad - now it works. Sometimes you only have to try and try ... and try :D

You can also check online musical instrument retailers and even some general online retailers. Availability will probably depend on where you live. I would also recommend trying to locate an online wind controller users group where you may find some recommended retailers in addition to a community of other Aerophone Pro users. The is a relatively new instrument so availability may be low.
we bought an ae-30 because supposedly sounds would be so great to you. What do you have to do to get a tenor sax sound that also sounds like tenor sax? The description is completely inadequate for an amateur. the part currently sounds more like melodica or child's trumpet and not like listening to you UA-cam. € 1500 is simply too much for that. can you help us?
Hi there. It looks like you’ve had some very good answers to this on the Facebook groups. As they have said the saxophone is one of the most difficult instruments to reproduce electronically. Add to that the fact that everyone has a slightly different opinion on what a saxophone should sound like it’s impossible to please everyone. The player has to learn to use articulation, dynamics, vibrato and more to get the best results. If everyone could make a great sound straight away then musicians would be out of a job. Personally I use the synth sounds much more than the acoustic sounds. I see the Aerophone as giving me additional sounds to my acoustic saxophone which will always make the best saxophone sound.
@@isax.academy thanks 4 the answer. I basically see it that way. it certainly takes experience and practice with the instrument. On iPhone you should find a folder named AE-Pro scenes in the Apple files app. Mine is under iCloud Drive.
Thank you 👌🏼 I am glad that there must be a folder - but after searching and searching I am sure, that there is no folder on MY iPhone. Strange 😣
I guess it depends on where you saved the files in the first place.
Maybe try saving another library and see where it offers to save the file?
i just got me a brand Aerophone Pro AE-30 and i found out that my lower keys sound like a portamento like kind of tone....how can i set it up...?
I would guess you might be pressing the thumb pad by mistake with the right hand thumb?
In the menu reduce the thumb pad sensitivity.
Is there an after market battery pack for this by chance?
Not that I know of.
You’d need to be very careful not to damage the electronics and void the warranty.
I use rechargeable AAs.
