hearing ben affleck say “not this time. maybe next time” felt very poetic. it was like ben was talking to the audience saying that maybe next time in the DCU, we will see each other again

You also forgot that is what Keaton's Batman says when he's dying too. But it's kinda sad because when he get's in the car after saying it Ben gives him this prolonged look as if to make sure he's okay, but also it was the last time they would see each other.
It's more like Terence Howard in Iron Man 1.
Lol… This is foreshadowing what Keaton says later in the film…
The Nicholas cage cameo was probably one the THE BEST cameos I’ve ever seen in a comic book movie. Not only cause of the history, but it was the LAST thing I’d think id ever see lol. Even with the CG issues I really enjoyed the movie
idk man it is just funny to see Nicholas Cage everywhere he is even in the horror game dead by daylight.

Nic Cage in this looked like A.I. art mixed with Bad CGI idk why anyone likes that scene when it looked ugly af.
It was actually terrible… cage is still kicking so how could they not get a live action cameo. The cgi ruined so much of the movie

Showing an actor who was almost cast in a role was incredible. Thats like giving Eric Stoltz a cameo in Back to the Future and acting like it somehow improved the film. I swear the average person now a days has the intelligence of a house fly.
Not just that, they also showed him fighting the infamous huge mechanical spider.

I completely disappeared in the story and forgot that CGI left a lot to be desired sometimes. It's a love letter to the DC and the story about a boy who goes back in time to save his parents. I got really emotional in the end
When George Clooney showed up, someone in my theater shouted, "Nooooooooo!" and that made my whole theater laugh. But Barry saying "Who the F is this?!" Was the icing on the cake

On another note what a shame that we're never getting a Ben Affleck Batman movie for the brief minute he's in it wow he is incredible.
It was strange we never found out who killed Barry's mom. I feel like we really needed that to conclude and end this flashs story and say good bye knowing he got his happy ending.

@@FEARisCOLD I think the general audience knows that Reverse Flash killed Barry Allen's mom. He is an iconic character even before the CW show, and part of his origin story involves Reverse Flash going back in time and killing his mother. It's not a spoiler, especially considering that even non-comic readers who are into DC superheroes have probably seen the CW's Flash TV show. Basically, I believe the general audience is aware that Reverse Flash killed Barry's mom.
@@RafikiTheBaboon It's literally Barry Allen's origin story that Reverse Flash went back in time and killed Barry's mother. We know it was Reverse Flash. There is a script written for Flash 2, which I'm sure will have Reverse Flash in it. But, as I said, people know who killed Barry's mom. It would be like saying, 'We don't know who killed Bruce's parents in the Matt Reeves universe.' Literally, everyone knows Joe Chill killed Bruce Wayne's parents, even if the character wasn't caught in the movie.
I was crossing my fingers for a Michelle Pfeiffer as catwoman cameo but was disappointed it didn’t happen. Oooo and that Batman theme was making me smile that iconic score on the big screen was satisfying.
I like that score from the tim burton batman movies
Also, the theme, to learn to let go, and accept that you can’t change things no matter how hard you would have tried or done things differently, really hit home. I’m sure we’ve all been there, and is a topic we can all sympathize with

I haven’t seen anyone mention this. When they arrive at Wayne Manor, the room with the statues was recreated from the 89 movie. It’s the same room, same statues. The room where they encounter Bruce, that’s the room where Bruce ate dinner with Vicky Vale. Such great attention to detail.
The hall of armors is different, has windows.
Barry’s “WHO THE FUCK IS THIS?” fit that scene so well because that was my exact reaction, Clooney’s Batman might’ve been the first one I was introduced to but MAN😭

My flash viewing was crazy. Everyone was awake and I can’t tell you how hype everyone was. When George Clooney came out the entire room when “no way, what, wait huh” I screamed WTF which rarely happens. Also everyone has to stop hating the movie for just Ezra and just like hate it for something that is actually in the movie. Other than that it was amazing 9/10
The writing was amazing. The whole universe and the city felt alive. The writing and the script was too good! It was really one of the best super hero movies. And thisnis the FIRST ever flash movie and they portrayed his power correctly. Hes not fast, he can just slow down the world (the speed force)

That Keaton Batman Russian Rescue segment was the BEST Batman I've ever seen! This movie was one of the best Super Hero movies I've ever seen! GREAT MOVIE!!!
I like the part where Keaton tells Zod "You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts." and then they go to the store together to buy some peanuts.
And then nuts all over the place...

I enjoyed the movie when I was walking into the theater. I didn’t focus on the controversy I just forgot about it and I enjoyed it and getting past the CGI. I think it’s pretty good comic book adaptation.
The cgi I didn’t mind. The only problem I had was that the final battle felt a bit rushed and anti-climactic. I would have loved to see flash and Batman fight against Zod, or for Batman and Supergirl to say goodbye to Barry before the timeline was rebooted.
Yeah i was thinking the same. The way they kill the dark flash is too fast, when he is the main villain of the movie. If they add 5- 10min to the last fight. It will be a solid movie.

@@entertainer1597no. Dark flash had to die fast. It wouldve been corny if dark flash took 10 min to try to kill barry and still get defeated. Dark flash been in there for YEARS and has purple lightning meaning hes really fast. Way faster than flash. They kept it simple and didnt dragged the fight. I really like the way they did it
I was never a fan of the Snyder characters but I feel like this one actually made it land and make sense for THESE versions of the characters and how they interact
The opening just give me nostalgia for the old JL animated series
And yet now that we are all in agreement that this is a solid base for the Justice league and DCEU, they shut it all down and start all over. It’s so frustrating bc now what? Spend another decade or so restarting it all? Hell, by the time they get anywhere in this one the people invested in the original one will be much older n less invested. We just spent the past 10 years building this universe and to just restart like this is just disappointing.
@@philthytanks4952 i feel it's a stepping stone, all the past movies are cannon to this universe cause Barry was the one to change it, Basically Like a prequel to this new universe and how it came to be.
I believe this to be the case because James Gunn was in a Podcast with Michael Rosenbaum and pretty much said Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 are cannon to his new universe which would make no sense without that being the case.
Just as how the people who made Shazam said they were possibly gonna be allowed to be part of the new Dceu if the movie did well cause it felt like it had no connection to the larger universe surrounding it. If that stays true or accomplished that is unknown

@Philthy Tanks Yeah, the more I think about it, they're actually making a mistake by starting over. Yes, the DCEU may seem messy/disheveled, but it could've been fixed if they got someone who believes "We don't need to start over, we just need to improve upon what's already been done." Then take the time needed to plan and flesh out what the future is going to look like.
I legit cried when Christopher Reeves showed up. And then fangirled when Nicholas Cage poped up. And laughed my ass off with George Clooney's cameo. That alone was worth the watch. But Michael Keaton... Man it felt good seeing him put the suit on again.

Yes it tackled some emotional moments but, for the most part, it was extremely fun and energetic and campy. I’m here for it! My theater was cracking up with the baby scene as well. Microwave baby is the best meme from this movie 😂😂💀
The CGI was extremely bad at several parts, but I understand why the studio didn’t want to spend more on this movie (WAY TOO RISKY). Flash’s suit (including the helmet) looked amazing when it was REAL. I DID NOT like how he ran in large, slow strides in the beginning scene when he first ran across country. It should have showed his legs moving FAST (nitpick I know but still).
CGI and some odd dialogue choices aside, this movie was perfect with how fun it was. I can see why some people hate this movie though (besides Ezra’s drama) because some people simply don’t like that campy, jokey fun. Nothing is loved by everyone after all.
It sure beats refrigerator Indiana Jones!
The second flash was unbearable to watch, the acting was horrible, the plot was all over, the emotional moments had no weight cause of the disjointed convenience driven plot. It wasn't a cartoon. The flashpoint animated feature was what you're describing. I legit don't get how anyone thought this film was even tolerable.... Almost 300 mill on the budget
Don't get me wrong, I like the Clooney cameo, but I do wish that after Barry let his mom died we didn't see his face agian, and just saw the flash run and stop a bank robbery by a flash villian, and run by a spray painting of some like superman or batman and robin, that's clearly different than the old universe to show this is the new one. And by not showing Barry's face you can recast and just blame the timeline change.
Yeah, I would have preferred that or the Clooney scene to be the post credits instead of the silly aqua man stuff

I really enjoyed this movie. Yes, CGI was horrible from the beginning but I didn’t let that ruin the experience for me. It was funny, sad when it had to be, and a lot of Easter eggs. I really enjoyed the music, was not expecting Natalia LaFourcade so much on this, and so scenes with Barry’s mother hit so much more with her vocals in the background.
There was a nice send off to all the characters, except cyborg, or maybe I missed it, and since this is a spoiler review (seeing the death of Michael Keatons Batman was sad, but needed, seeing a true send off to a beloved Batman).
Overall I really enjoyed this movie, if you can get passed the CGI, which was easy for me, I’m positive you’ll enjoy the movie.
Me and my dad both teared up when we saw Christopher Reeves on screen. That was the first superhero movie he ever saw and the first superhero movie I ever saw and I watched it with my dad. Its the simple things in life lol 🙌🏽 still shocked my theater had a bigger cheer for Nic Cage Superman than Christoher Reeves but still an awesome moment
I love the actress that played supergirl. They need to have her comeback in the future even if she had her own show or movie.
It's a shame that she's most likely not going to be supergirl she was great in the movie. Her hearing zod say he killed futus Clark and she just goes ape shit and beats the shit out of him was great. Another thing is it seems like she absolutely demolishes zod the only way zod wins was by using that weapon.
The way they tied in the cctv footage of his dad not looking up the camera to Barry looking up the camera in the final act was masterful storytelling

Absolutely -- much more logical and true to the characters! In my opinion, they should have stuck with this approach and ended with the idea that this universe (as a fitting end to the Snyderverse) would become an "Elseworlds" -- (as they'll do for the Reeves' Batman) and just start as square one with the DCU with all new actors & continuities.
There’s a shot of Supergirl in the trailers in front of the courthouse which makes me wonder if that was original ending

@@odirherrera131 It was the OG ending was Keaton and Supergirl replaced Affleck and Superman after Flash created a new timeline and this would lead into the Batgirl movie that was filmed and cancelled.

That first scene I laughed the whole time from beginning to end this movie itself was done well , I just don’t understand the last Batman reveal because he technically is the same universe as Keaton since he was that particular Batman so it was weird seeing that but I get it I also wished that Keaton was Bruce’s dad as Batman instead of Bruce himself lol that would have made more sense
The Speedy Gonzales bit had me cracking up for a good 4 or 5 minutes. I was trying to contain my laughter because basically no one else was laughing at that point. My town sucks on those opening night showings (at least the later ones). I wish I could find these showings that were what I'm always hearing 3C talk about where everyone is enjoying the jokes and not afraid to laugh and enjoy them. I haven't had that experience since Endgame came out, and even then the audience wasn't great considering it was a full capacity in one of the old style 300 person theater.

even though the CGI is bad i still freaking love The Flash including Michael Keaton's Batman he's The best when he's fights a Kryptoning it's freaking crazy and when we get to the cameos it's insane like Nicolas Cage Superman i was blowing away when i saw the cameo but they could of done better 🔥💯
It was solid story, with a small emotional core. The cameos were great and Keatons Batman was badass with a small arc. Supergirl was amazing once she showed her aggression. The ending was little much, but I don’t think it went to far. Really have to praise the creativity of the action sequences and what they managed to make the characters do. Then ending of him wanting to make his father look up made sense to me. He changed a drastic event first and thought maybe something as minor as someone looking up wouldn’t make a difference. In the end, he is still a child wanting to have a parent. Overall the biggest gripes is the CGI and some dialogue. Otherwise for 2 and a half hours it had a solid, but not great pacing. Like it 7/10
The George Clooney part makes sense because Flash ended up being in the wrong universe that allowed his father to be released. However, the confusing part was the after credit scene where Aquaman says that he is the original Aquaman, which would mean either flash got back to the normal timeline or Aquaman ended up in the same timeline as George Clooney Batman
My same thoughts about the clooney part, he went to the wrong timeline. I didn’t care much about aquamans scene.
It's not really like he ended up in the Clooney universe we know, it's just another universe where batman just happens to be Clooney
@@sebastianimation6100 Yeah that is true! Again, a different universe than his own. I didn't have a problem with this scene. The after credit scene was confusing a little and this was my attempt at wrapping my head around it.
I don't remember him saying he was the original Aquaman I think Barry was just explaining to him what had happened.
That part where they brought Christopher reeve back from the dead with piss poor cgi to play the ultimate role of Member Berry was just the classiest thing I’ve ever seen in film. Breathtaking.
Whats the problem with it Superman is his only role that mattered and his family allowed it because it was done to honor him and remind the DC audience of his awesome Superman.
I loved the movie! It honestly doesnt even feel like a superhero movie in a goodway. This movie feels like a fun movie by itself with great story telling. And seeing how the speed force works is great! I honestly loved this movie
I walked out really loving this movie, as a Flash fan from the comics and CW show, I feel like they did it justice. Even to my friend who doesn’t watch that many DC stuff came out really liking the movie. The CGI didn’t really bother me only cuz it made sense like when Barry time travels and sees the past events I saw it as like a video game selection screen and u try to select where u wanna go in the story so it made sense to me. Tbh George Clooney was very weird at the end but it’s ok for just like a joke like we get the return of Batnips. I am a little upset there wasn’t a Grant Gustin cameo during a he multiverse part but I can look pass it knowing we finally got Nicolas FREKIN Cage as Superman. I felt like I was the only one in the theater who understood that reference. Overall, even after all the drama, I still really loved this movie
I feel like the ending offers the perfect solution to the Ezra Miller problem, for those who don't care about Ezra or want him to stay, put Ezra in his own Elseworld universe like Joker or Batman where he can hang out with George Clooney and have his own separate movies, then for those like me who want him out and don't want to watch a movie he's in recast for the main DCU.
What's interestingis Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 are part of the new Dceu, It was said on a podcast with Michael Rosenbaum if I'm not mistaken which is why I think they did have the post credit with him and Barry explaining how Bruce keeps looking different, maybe the reshoots in Aquaman are to make things make more sense

For a moment, I thought this was a Kevin Conroy's voice clip. I heard they used Christopher Reeve's likeness in the film, it may not be out of the question that they used Kevin Conroy's voice. Or BatFleck just hit the line right.
I loved this movie. CGI aside, it didn’t take away from the story for me. The story was heartfelt and a love letter to DC past. Even though it was CGI, I teared up a bit when seeing Christopher Reeve Superman. I thought they really did Michael Keaton Batman justice and loved his role. I didn’t mind the ending with Clooney because it wasn’t about that to me. Barry saved his Dad at least but still screwed up things just a little. It was funny and a great way to end the DCEU!

3c I can’t believe you missed the reference to ‘89 Batman. When he says how much do you weigh is a reference to when he picked up the blonde girl and asked her “how much do you weigh”
This movie was good but not as good as Warner hyped it to be. The story and plot were good but the CGI wasn’t that great. But putting aside all of its flaws, it was great finale to the DCEU and a great beginning for James Gunn’s DCU.
Can't forget when Ezra was saying those lines about mental health and damage it sounded like he was talking about himself from real life🤭
I totally felt the same way about the film. It had a lot of highs and a few lows, but overall the positives outweighed the negatives. I think my only main gripes were the some of the bad CG (which my gf actually brought up during the movie) and that ending with George Clooney. Although hilarious it also just came across as kind of disrespectful to end it that way. Hell, I'd almost prefer if they just ended it by not showing Bruce Wayne at all and just imply that there's a new one. I almost wonder if that was a reshoot that James Gunn did after he took over. It would be cool if we got the alternate ending with Michael Keaton on the physical release, but I don't expect it. I actually saw in an interview with Andy Muschietti that there's a deleted scene implying that Michael Keaton tried to time travel himself. I really hope we get that at least. Anyway it was pretty solid overall. I'd personally probably give it an 8.5/10

My only issue with the film is the ending
A must watch! So much better than I thought it was going to be. The CGI was a bit much at certain times but the movie was so good it made up for it. Such an emotional rollercoaster with the movie constantly reminding you of his mother and Supergirl and Keaton Batman's performance! (chefs kiss).
I personally didn't think the CGI was bad . I loved it flash is my favorite superhero and I absolutely loved the movie
I'm sorry. But its people like yourself who are making me check out from Marvel movies and now DC movies.
I expect quality and consistency. Currently, Marvel and DC movies display neither.
Demand better, have higher standards for what is a 300 million dollar movie for goodness sake.

I have just watched this in the cinema. I absolutely loved it. Zero complaints from me. It had everything and more. Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton were phenomenal.
despite ezra's issues outside the movie, tbh i think he is one of the talented actors out there, when i watch the movie, even tho we know both barrys played by the same actor, it feels like those 2 are a completely different character.
3:04 My exact thoughts! This movie felt to me as a live action film of Justice League animated series of the 2000s that I grew up watching. Which is the reason it connected with me so well. Even Ezra's flash acted similarly to the Flash in the animated series. It was emotional, all of the characters served a purpose. The story didn't feel stupid nor the execution of the film seemed childish. I will be watching it again.
They really missed an opportunity to blame all the DC movies on the Dark Flash. The Dark Flash needed to be the reason for all of the continuity errors. For that matter they even missed the opportunity to blame it on Barry as well. Because it could be said that when he traveled in the past in Snyder's movie he caused everything, but they ignored Snyders movie and acted as if this was Barry's first time entering the speed force to travel back in time.
Yet, the Flying Fox survived and Barry and Iris's meeting in Zack Snyder's Justice League still happened.
I love good cgi's in movies, i always adore the technique they use and the complicity of Cgi in every shots every details. Bad cgi stands out more if the movie doesnt have some redeemable factors, the movie is actually serviceable i would love the original plan for its story and ending but still, i love all that happened in this movie And i think this somekind of a soft reboot for the franchise, Bad Cgi is just a bad cgi if the story is okay but if the story sucks, bad Cgi turns into a bad movie i wish ezra miller continue his role as flash. And im gonna go watch the movie now👍

What I found just a bit odd and had trouble getting on board with was Barry’s lifelong struggle to absolve his father as opposed to catching the killer. What was that about?

WAS WAITING for your spoiler review Chris! I went in with a lot of hype and was disappointed. Some things I want to mention was the amazing action, the bad gci was intentional, Barry didn't work for me, being "flashed", and personally bad nostalgia bait/easter eggs. It was a great watch but a 6/10 movie.
I also liked the nod to ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ when Barry phased through the wall with the Raquel Welch poster on it. 👍🏼

man this movie pulled at my heart, seeing bens batman one last time, and perhaps the most accurate, the nostalgia of keaton, the details of barry’s speed his calories, energy manipulation, the close of his molecules vibrating, the relationship of the two barry’s with their mom, this was a dope movie i’m excited to see what andy does now with his own batman
I honestly never cared for Flash ever until your videos like 4-5 years ago that’s what gave me interest in the movie. Saw it last night and I actually really liked it ! I think it’s easily one of the best comic book movies in recent years and a top 3 DC movie of all time ! I’m going through stuff in life and the part of them talking about how scars are what make you who you are was hitting me ! I love how it really wasn’t a action packed movie. It was a lot of dialogue, story driven, and character development which I LOOVVVEE ! Also VERY much liked the Batman scenes ! Very excited for Bold & the Brave with Andy as the director !
I loved it 8.8/10 Michael Keaton was the highlight. Loved seeing Nic, Reeves and Clooney! They should have used deepfake tech rather than CGI.

Your review is the same as what I got from this film, even though I never watched the early screening test (only know from the reviews of people who have watched it), all the spoilers that are scattered from the premiere don't make me lazy to watch the film, it's fun/the element of surprise indeed there is something missing but watching it becomes more detailed to look for easter eggs and understand the storyline better, of course also examine the minuses of this film too.
I liked the movie but its still not comparable to the actual flashpoint story. I did like how they kept in the while getting his powers back scene and the movie was still a solid interpretation of the story. But it’s a shame we are never going to get Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wane Batman. Although Michael Keaton return is definitely the next best thing.
I definitely don’t hate the flash but my favorite superhero is the flash so I was rooting for this movie and every time something bad happened or a delay it was a punch to the gut but I think with me being so passionate about this movie I was so disappointed but in James Gunn we trust to make a perfect flash movie

Yes!!!! Me too! I loved the movie. Best DC movie thus far. I also give it a 10/10. I understood the CGI would be bad, its the flash moving at crazy fast speeds, hes going to see things differently. And apparently it was meant to be that way? Its great, I didn’t mind it one bit. That nick cage cameo was insane, i could not believe it!!!

Muschietti has a CG problem. I felt the same way when I watched IT2, it was so CG heavy. He relies on it way too much. I really hope he doesn't for Brave and Bold

In my opinion I really loved and enjoyed the film I even think the cgi was not that bad but still in some shots without Barry’s slowing time it does look a bit horrendous but overall I enjoyed most of the film the ending was a bit confusing tho with what they went for on how dark flash died a bit too quick it kinda felt rushed but those are my only problems overall ranking is A and score is a 8.5-9/10

I watched the movie earlier today in 4dx and it was a good experience I wouldn’t say it’s the best like people say but it’s good the cgi was meh I really didn’t like the cameo choices only one flash in the cameo which is dumb but again good movie
I'm surprised/disappointed we never got cameos from other cancelled movies like Justice League Mortal or even Batman Beyond (we almost got a live action Batman Beyond movie but WB choise Nolan's Batman Beyond).
*The Justice League Mortal cameo could've been the JL standing together looking at the portal and the Batman Beyond cameo could've been Terry McGinnis just finishing a fight with Inque or Spellbinder or even Shreik or Blight then as soon as the portal opens he pulls out a baterang.
I loved the flash! Became a very personal movie, and I really understood the Barry Allen's, and I kinda saw myself in young Barry, being so excited the whole time and then the anxiety young Barry must of went throught whe. He finds out what he finds out
Regardless what anyone thinks I personally loved the film. Loved it so much I went to see it twice in theatres so far and most likely will be going another 5 times minimum. The movie exceeded my expectations by miles . It was truly a great experience and was well worth the wait and delays
The Flash movie was a mixed bag, if I'm being honest.
Actually, your rant on the ending made it make more sense because he did still selfishly move the can to get his dad free, but it was not without consequence which is why Clooney stepped out.
I have been waiting 3 years. And this didn't disappoint, I'm struggling between a 8(Great) or 9(Fantastic). Overall loved it.
I was really surprised this movie came out the way it did. It definitely isn’t perfect but I really enjoyed it.
Hearing how the original end would have connected to the Knightmare timeline with Batfleck saying "Find us Barry" would have been a nice parallel to flashes "Find us Bruce" from BvS

As far as the movie, in my opinion, I thought Barry was obnoxious and the CGI looks bad in some places. I honestly thought Keaton’s scenes were the best part of the movie. My favorite part was when Keaton Batman and the two Barrys save Supergirl. That whole action sequence was very well done. I liked this version of Supergirl too, she was tough and awesome.
I definitely would have liked to know what happened to Bruce/Alfred/Selina Kyle between RETURNS and this movie. I would have had Keaton in it longer.
I still hope we get a BATMAN BEYOND movie with Keaton one day. Chances are very low probably though with Gunn taking over.
Personally I love this movie I've watched it twice so far and I might watch this a third time 🤘⚡
