just bought this from ookas last midnight during 2.2 sale on 12-2am. Cant wait to replace the old RT-N18u router at home. Thanks for sharing the apps functionality as well. Didnt know router setup can be made through the app instead of a laptop.
@@danishamin3105 sangat ok bro. Setel masalah lost connection kat rumah bila 10+ device connect pada satu masa. Saya pakai cable tarik ke atas. biasa orang bawah akan cabut cable bila wifi signal slow. ntah apa yang dorang fikir.
I bought 2 router AX56u v2 - and configured as AiMesh, working good.. many features are there to explore which i dont think available in other models with this price range. You dont go wrong with Asus products. Reminder: Do not use any other power adapter (eg: from your old router).. this unit is sensitive.. make sure u use the power adapter which comes together with the router.
I'm going to buy this one... Does it have Smart Connect? Seems, like has... but there's no this model in Smart Connect supported models on Asus webpage 🤔
Thanks man I may considering this I am using a wifi extender carried in by our provider and I use it for ethernet but without the wifi extender I literally only get one bar and is only at 37mbps we do have a 1 gbps connection speed and would u recommend this for gaming too
The ac power adaptor is fixed wrongly. The 3 pin plastic should not be facing up. Else it will twist and turn. You need to fix the 3 pin adapter the other way round in order to lock it.
If it were me, I'd use the AX55 as the main router. It has a quad core processor while the AC68u only has a dual core processor. The main router will handle more of the workload than the satellites so that would be my choice.
I bought this in tandom with upgrading to 1Gb internet last year, and it has been nothing but a pain in the ass since day 1... my wifi speeds are terrible, typically around 20-30Mbps on 2.4Ghz. I have tinkered with settings exhaustively to no end. Anybody else deal with this??
I hv 2 units of this router as mesh for 1+ yr. Both use the uptodate firmware. So far It works fine for 10 - 15 devices online sharing 300Mbps. I utilise most of the functions.
@@SuperSaiyanIchigo I'm good there, as I bought an MB8611 alongside it. Fast forward all this time, and I've gathered the knowledge that most of the wireless devices in my home just dont have a wifi chip capable of the speeds it can output.
yes i have..2.4ghz wifi got 2-3 signal but link speed 1-6mbps..using ac59u v2 can get link speed 100-192mbps..very frustrated..already reset couple of time..adjust so many setting still same..1st floor to ground floor range only..about 20meter with wood door obstacle..if in the same room with router(ax55) everything work normally..
when it came to set up OOKAS went too fast and kept moving the phone around so you couldn't see what the heck he was clicking on - way too fast. Thumbs down...
What a stupid speed test..... why you test the speed at 1 meter away from to router. Of course it's gonna perform well. Go into another room 8-10 meters away from the router, with 1 or 2 concrete walls between and then to the speed test and also signal strength. Use a laptop not a mobile phone.
Sounds like an ideal device for my mesh wifi AP since even my old DLink DIR850L can give near 500 mbps download / 100 mbps upload upstairs with a few walls using X20 Deco Mesh units with ethernet connect to PC -- which is what I am paying my ISP monthly for at Unifi. To be fair though my Blackshark 4 did get around 300+ mbps download / 100 mbps upload, which is decent, but not the most ideal. If anything it's limited to the obsolete design of the old main router I pull internet from, and the X20 still has its limits on going through a few walls at 5Ghz... This one should solve the bottleneck I am suffering with wireless performance.
dont buy it you will waste ur money cons : Merlin custom rom will not support this model This models does not have Usb Memory and Rom are half of previous models No setting for set VPN per connected device or split tunneling
You need to configure the device that's doing the routing on your network specifically for your gaming needs. Give any priority devices (PS4/5, Xbox, PC) a static local IP, manual DNS (if necessary), port forward if necessary, and set QoS high priority for the LAN port or IP address, setting all others to normal. Get help online if you're unsure, and if you have to ask, DO NOT USE DEMILITARIZE. Doing just the first two steps netted me an extra 30% performance on the PS4 connection speed test. With port forwarding enabled for EA/NHL, my online experience became buttery smooth. If this is not the primary router of your LAN, retagging packets already downstream has no positive effects. Gaming is not so dependent on overall throughput. The real metric is latency.
@@tangtangtang1372 So it really depends on which router you own. Some routers only let you set up qos for particular services, and some better routers give you the ability to set qos policy based on physical port. Look for a router that supports 802.p tagging in the settings.
That review is a JOKE! I ve been using this piece of shit for over 2 months and 5 GHZ coverage is absolutely pathetic, Stay clear of this router, the worst wi-fi coverage I ve ever seen...

Bro, 1 question, if i buy this router, do i need to change my fiberhome? Or every router are suitable for fiberhome products?
One question if I want this to be exclusively for my video game console will it work fine?
one of the best reviews, surprised u only have 1.5k subs
beacause of his dirty nails ..
How can this be a best review?
I'm going to buy this one...

AX router supports smart connect as long as you unify your SSID (WIFI name). This feature is just not shown on their website

Dose QOS still work ? Can we set speed limits to people
Does ASUS RT-AX55 has ac band on 2.4Ghz?
The router need to be on the above floor always if 2 storey, then test downstairs, not the other way around.
is it so easy to set it up? can i just buy that and switch it with the on i have now?
You need to configure it first via web interface.
Ax55 and ax56u much better??

Does this support openvpn?
Anyone knows where the microphone for Alexa is on the PCB, I want to remove it?
Wouldn't it be better to put the router on second floor. Usually you want it at the highest point for optimal signal.
Can i use a DSL cabel?
Can I install a VPN on this?
If I want 2 pack AiMesh, AX55 vs XD4 which is better.
XD4
Hi ookas, can remove connected user from wifi with apps?
