Alien: Birth and Fear of the other Aliens: Motherhood and Vietnam Alien 3: Death and Messiadom Alien: Resurrection: Cloning and Science gone Wrong Prometheus: Creation and Godhood Alien Covenant: Retcons, lots of them Alien: Romulus: Siblinghood, Cloning and Science gone Wrong (it is an improved spiritual sequel to Resurrection after all)
Some of the best lines... Hudson: "Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?" Vasquez: "No, have you?" Bishop: [Offering some food to Ripley] "Are you sure you don't want some?" Ripley: [Knocks the tray out of bishop's hand] "Just stay away from me Bishop you got that straight" Frost: "Guess she don't like the cornbread either" [During the drop to LV-426] Apone: "Somebody wake up HIcks"
I do prefer the Special Edition, particularly the Sentry Guns scene, Burke informing Ripley about her daughter, More of Hudson's BS in the drop ship and, as Nath says, the tender interchange between Dwayne & Ellen before she heads back to save Newt. Also Mac MacDonald from Red Dwarf appearing in the Hadleys Hope segment (it's cold outside but at least there's some kind of atmosphere). They partly filmed at the same disused power station that they used in Batman (1989). Always loved the Queen takes Bishop move. I think they hid a dog behind a screen from Jonesey and then revealed it to get the hiss. You could easily imagine the colonial marines appearing in Full Metal Jacket and vice-versa. Imagine Animal Mother Vs an Alien and Vasquez Vs the VC.
You missed out the most important fact about Bill Paxton. He is still the only actor to have been killed by an alien, a predator and a terminator. Lance Henrickson got close, but only gets torn in half by the alien queen and not ‘killed’. Of course as a synth his mortal status is a bit more in the air to begin with. If you still feel Lance deserves to share the title then I’ll just say that Bill Paxton is the only actor to have been killed by an alien, a predator, a terminator and a Coulson…
We don't know if he died in The Terminator - he got shoved into a gate. He might have been knocked out. Oh, and both the Alien and Terminator franchise have both been killed at various points...
The one argument made to me about this that I couldn't dispute was that we never see Hudson die. After the Marines' first confrontation with the aliens, when what was left of the team was back on the assault vehicle, Hudson noticed that vital signs were still displaying for some of the soldiers who didn't make it back. Ripley pointed out that they were being cocooned. Granted, Ripley did not find Hudson in the nest when she went back for Newt. So, his death could have been by an alien, a fast chestburster, or by the explosion of the fusion reactor. I hope they've addressed this in the 'Aliens Expanded ' documentary.
I'm looking forward to what Dave thinks of how they treated the Face Huggers in Romulus
I just love everything about this movie. While rewatching it recently with my kids and my Mum, I got surprisingly emotional as well
I didn't know for so many years that Vasquez is also John Connor's foster mum in T2 Judgement Day
I see Ghostbusters in Robs future! He’ll be collecting spores, moulds and fungus in no time!

Glad I've left this to today, feeling pretty down right now after the US election result so needed something to cheer me up.
Really says something about how influential this movie series is when Rob calls the Xenomorphs Necromorphs and the others don't notice.
*_lmao I noticed this straight away and none of the guys said anything haha_*
It's nice that someone loves Generations, they're wrong, but it's nice
