I think Dr Ian Malcolm sums up the way I feel about this film. "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"
12:58 I absolutely love these chaps movie reviews. Excellent content. Nathan being untethered and being able to be himself is most enjoyable for me and my low brow, primitive sense of humour. Then to hear Rob actually drop an F-bomb was actually jaw-dropping. His passion was palpable. Love these guys being themselves. Again, probs just me and my neanderthal brain. In saying that; come on David...gimme a "P"...gimme an "H"...gimme a "U"...gimme a "Q"🤪
Opening 15 minutes were great, actually felt connected to the 2 main characters…and then they got to the space station and everyone starts making the dumbest decisions and being horrible friends, again and again!
I am as well. I recently watched Alien, Romulus, Aliens, in that order while I was off sick. It was so enjoyable as its own little trilogy. Made me think that if I'd only seen those 3, then Prometheus wouldn't have felt like such a departure at first. So it feels like it's in the right place even though it's close to 40-50yrs since the first 2. Seeing the Engineer pilot in the first movie wearing his suit, then seeing the hybrid in Romulus makes a connection where I'd want to know more about them as well as Xenomorphs. Then you get the Queen in Aliens, followed by Ripley and her new family going home to be safe and live happily forever! I have a soft spot for Resurrection as I was 10 when it came out, but when I next want to watch Alien, I'll be watching these 3 and not worry too much about the other 4. Romulus obviously has faults, but it can be enjoyed and might get younger people to watch the first 2, which is a positive even if you don't like this film. Also, they maintained a level of fear of reproduction with blood and gore some thought Disney may tone down too much. My kids were scared of the first and into the action of the second. This seemed to put a scary-action step in the middle for them. Sorry for the long comment. I was hoping they enjoyed this one more, but at least we did!
Romulus is like the Rogue One of the Alien franchise for me. It’s all just a bunch of callbacks to previous films, all the characters suck except the robot character, and 25:28 the TERRIBLE CGI characters that got wayyyyy too much screen time
I have mixed feelings about Romulus. As a whole, I did enjoy it but did feel like it was pandering to fans way too much, and the Rook scene did not need to be in there. They could have easily had what he was saying about what I presumed to be the black goo on an audio log or something. The whole scene was just awful. Really looking forwards to the LOTR podcasts. I may have missed you mention it but which version of the movies are you watching?
Rob is absolutely bang on here. Romulus is a disgrace, and I'm most surprised at Nates' appreciation of the film. To think they retrieved the original alien amidst the wreckage of the Nostromo which should have been disintegrated in a thermo nuclear explosion. And had face huggers emerge from bags 😂😂😂😂😂. Not to mention the horrendous callbacks to previous films, the Ian Holm scenes are truly some of the worst shot scenes in any film in years. They had the audacity to effectively reshoot the newborn ending from Resurrection. Also, the aliens in Romulus must be the special class aliens....they were mongos. Horrendous film. It doesn't deserve the ratings it's getting.

Really enjoyed this film felt like the old school Alien films. Not as good as Alien and Aliens but better then the the other Alien films
Why is this the Red Shirt Club? Reminded me of the Red-Headed League.
Just nice to hear you guys drop some F bombs unlike on PlayStation access haha

I'm sad the guys didn't like it

Definitely not more of the same. It's a revival!

Caught this on a plane ride back home. Blatant and cringey "wink wink nod nod" callbacks and characters I didn't care about. It was an disappointment.
