Maybe you didn’t have the earlier ones (a problem for years) that would suddenly not close anymore and your tool was suddenly useless for a while. Then you had to prove to the dealer that you had an earlier one or just buy more - when no cap you ever had before failed you.
@@scottbowen4997alcohol in the fuel will eventually cause a problem. We have a station that has no alcohol fuel and since we use that no more cap problems.
Problem with doing the "between the legs start up" is the start position lever usually gets bumped to "off position" by your thighs without you knowing it. Thats probably why you were pulling it with no effect. I saw you move the switch back to start just before that last pull that started her up . Ive had a pro Stihl since 1999 and that switch always gets bumped to off position when I start it that way. With the postion in start she STIHL always starts in two or three pulls from a cold start.
Is Stihl coming out with any new saws in the near future? With the introduction of the 400 and 500 I can’t help but wonder if they won’t introduce a 600i in the near future? A 90 something cc version of the 500i. Do you know if they have any plans to introduce anything new in that range soon?
Looks like yes and no. You posted this not long after the 400 came out and it’s already discontinued in favor of a 400.1 which lowers the power, goes back to aluminum piston, and lowers the CC. Might as well have called it a 363
Is the Piston pure magnesium or is it an alloy? I did a quick Google search of magnesium. It has a low melting point and break easily unless its an alloy of 1percent aluminum. Magnesium by itself also carries easily and wears easily. I wonder if the pros outweigh the cons.
The new caps suck, they get filthy and I’m constantly trying not to get chips in the fuel. Never had that issue with my 039, but aside from that my 461 is awesome!
What you need to have before spending $800 on a Stilh MS 362 chainsaw is a 20 year old Poulan chainsaw that "still" cranks after 20 years. Because the Stilh saw will fail you after 6 months, then after 1 year, 1.5...etc. Stilh having trouble with my MS [POC} 362 after 3 solenoid changes and now have a 2 yr old Stilh setting dead on a table.
I don’t understand why so many people hate the flip gas caps. I love them
I agree with you I think they work great
Stihl caps tend to "spit" gas when you open them for some reason

You haven't used them enough then

I have never bumped that switch off but I can see how that could happen. And it would be quite annoying.
400 is the way to go! Great video
Thanks 👍
400 makes the 362 pointless. i have about 20 tanks thru my 400. love it. it could use a heavy oiler installed. i think the 461 HO oiler will fit?
The 400 is sweet. Not sure about the oiler. That will be a good project for me
The oiler works fine on a 20 inch bar
@@BillRand-v1q sure does. And I’ve had know problems with the 25” when running the platinum bar oil
Great video. I have the MS362 & MS462… am tempted to get the MS400. Keep up the good work.
Good choices. And thank you
great saw but does changing the spark plug key diameter necessary ? it makes you carry/lose 2 different key size
Generally not something that you are needing to change in the field.
I love my 044 slant fin, my 036 and my 041AV
Great saws. Stihl has done it right for a long time.
Picked up a 362 adj. carb at local pawn shop never used $600 runs great. I see their like $850+tax new.
That sounds like a great buy for you. Why would someone pawn that saw.

I Love The 500i Saws 😊❤️😀❤️😊
It’s proven to be a very awesome machine.

Great question. I have been trying to get some information on that. So far no word.

Love the tool less caps, used them for 20+ years
Agree

That’s the only reason I clicked on this video
So far the MS400 has held up and performed great
How long is the headset you installed on ms 362?????
We usually run a 25
Im upgrading to the 462 from a ms 271 farm boss. Its not much more weight than my 271 and you get a huge jump in power!
What bar size are you running going to run on the 462?
@carlsmowerandsaw my 271 I'm running a 20 inch bar, I ordered the 462 with a 25 inch bar.
Cannot find a review of MS382. What might be the reason?
The 382 is not in the US
@@carlsmowerandsaw Thanks. Got it.
Nice chaps are those Stihl brand?
The nice gray carhart ones 😂
I love my Ms 400c
The power to weight is great.
I have the 261 , 362 , and 400 m tronic
👍. What’s the next one on the list?
The new caps suck, they get filthy and I’m constantly trying not to get chips in the fuel. Never had that issue with my 039, but aside from that my 461 is awesome!
461 is a solid saw
you gotta let it idle for a few min and do the high learn and idle learn
It is always recommended to let your chainsaw idle for a bit to warm up
ms 462 cm flush cut is 13.2 lbs not 13.9
Sorry if I stated that wrong
Put chaps on, then operate the saw left-handed?
Nice saw though!
The hate for the lefty is strong, isn’t it? 😂
you do have to use that 400 like you ride a 125 2 strokes dirtbike
Vroom vroom
362 is better than 400 saw
What makes you say that? Concerns about the piston?
We called dogs spirs
They to spur the tree well.
It’s a new saw and you aren’t letting the electronic carburetor tune itself correctly
Thank you. We do know how to run them and reset the M tronic if needed.
Dude never put any bar oil in it
It's not a demonstration video, it's a comparison.
Too bad the 361, 440 and 461 aren't around anymore. 😢
Except the 441 that thing can stay in the grave 😂
Those were some good saws. That said there are some great things about the new ones.
Chain is too tight
Thank you for your input

It was a totally different world pre-emissions.
