Hello! Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins wrote this song. It was influenced by songs they grew up listening to such as the Four Seasons' "Sherry" and "Walk Like a Man".
If you're having a bad day, this is maybe the best song to play as fast as you can. One of the best bops ever! As an old Doobies fan I wasn't sure what to think of the changes when Michael cam aboard, but it didn't take long for me to love them with him even more! I also loved his backgrounds on many Steeley Dan songs, like Peg!
Hello Mr. Bill! You're right, his backing vocals are always so good. I feel he backed, uncredited, on many other songs by other artists that I only find out about later.
Classic Doobie Brothers, classic Michael McDonald. Think this might be the best Doobie Brothers track from the McDonald era. Her reaction was alright, I guess, outside of the constant pausing. Favorite Doobie Brother track of all time is "I Cheat The Hangman".

I feel the same way you do with the pauses there, but i gotta say she seemed genuine with this reaction so thats a + in my book, solid 7 for me
Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I especially love the repetition towards the end. For me, it's very hypnotic.
