kenny's duets with shanice in this concert were phenomenal.
No matter how hard Kenny tries, the moment Michael McDonald opens his mouth and that voice comes out, it's all his.
If Kenny is a master than what is Michael McDonald. His voice is impossible.
Kenny Loggins has one of the great voices of the rock era...so does Michael McDonald for that matter. Loggins became famous as part of the duo, Loggins and Messina. To get an idea of their talent, I suggest the song, Angry Eyes.
This whole concert is amazing. Kenny co wrote this with Michael McDonald. Kenny's catalogue both solo and with Loggins And Messina is amazing. Long rabbit hole.
I second this...I own this DVD...Kenny Loggins in his prime!
Loggins and Messina "Danny's song 🎵, "watching the rivers run" are I'm my opinion two of their best songs 🎵
Brotherman Biz, I’ve found that no matter what sad, ugly crap that's on TV News and the hate life throws at me, watching music with you helps softens the blow. Your positive attitude, and fun you bring us is greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work. I hope you get to 40K subscribers soon.
Thank you, thank you for this dope comment it means more than you know. 🙏🏿🤘🏿🙌🏿
You just said everything I've been trying to say for a while now. It's so true! He's got something here with his personality and the way he listens to every song and takes it seriously. Great Comment!
Great mix of voices. Those two are so skilled.
Kenny Loggins co wrote with Micheal McDonald this for Doobies Bros.Kenny has a vast catalog of songs and has movie theme songs such as 'Footloose',' Danger Zone' from Top Gun,and 'I'm Alright' from Caddy Shack.
That was great! I agree with you about the sax. I'm a sucker for a sax. More Doobie Brothers for sure please.
Loggins is the guy with the guitar singing tenor/alto. Micheal McDonald is the baritone/tenor.
Yo BizMagic, Great reaction!! Kenny Logins was in a group (a duo called Logins and Messina). They had some commercial success, but when Kenny went solo, his career took off. This is a Doobie Brothers song and I think, he may have collaborated with Michael McDonald. Which is why, Michael McDonald, collaborated with Kenny, at this venue. You should check out This Is It and Heart To Heart, by Kenny Logins. See what you think.
loggins and messina were big in the early 70s.
I think Kenny Loggins & Michael McDonald actually wrote this together
Wow , what a beautiful venue. Mellow concert, two exceptional vocalists, very nice...
That was Kenny Loggins and the gray haired was Michael McDonald.
You also know Michael McDonald from Steely Dan as well and also many other collaborations. Try “Angry Eyes” by Loggins and Messina.🖖🏼
L O N G version.
Mark Russco on sax. Long time member of the Doobie Brothers
“This Is It” is still my favorite from this concert, but this song is great too. One of my all time favorite concert dvd’s.
Kenny is great but there is something about Michaels voice that you feel it deep inside you!!! He oozes soul out of his pores, he's a very handsome Irish man and so humble and unpretentous. I hope you play more of him and a suggestion is "Taking it to the streets" a live performance when he is with the Doobies. I believe the 1979 performance is the best but anything they did live was nearly perfect they are that good. I also suggest his song "Mo be there" with James Ingram it's fantastic!!! Enjoy❤
I'm not very big on Kenny Loggins' solo career but you must dive into his partnership with Jim Messina. The name of the group was Loggins and Messina and they are definitely worth diving into.
My big brother introduced to Loggins & Messina. He later made it big solo. A lot of pop and movie themes.
Michael McDonald, other singer, was with a few bands b4 he went solo and very big.
Both def worth it!! 👍🏽❤
Kenny and Mike wrote this song. There’s a great video of the two of them singing all the songs they co-wrote What a Fool, This Is It and Heart to Heart.
Kenny is worth looking into. If you are familiar with Winnie the Pooh, he sings most of the Pooh songs. He also sings on the Top Gun and Maverick movies. He sings the title song to Footloose movie.
Kenny Loggins is smooth. This performance with Kenny and Michael Macdonald is really nice.
Kenny Loggins was on our left and Micheal McDonald was on our right. These two could bring me to tears with those amazing voices! Let's not forget the amazing music coming from the rest of those guys who all had a smile on their face as far as I could see. God, we are so lucky to have this and YES that rabbit hole is worth going down with each of these guys. The catalog is unbelievable! It's gonna be hard to even pick but I'm giving it a go...For Kenny, I'm gonna say 'Whenever I call you friend' and for Micheal, I'm gonna suggest Minute by Minute which he's done with The Doobie Bros. and without. It's just a really good song and I feel like you'll relate to it. Peace!
Very nice! My favorite Kenny Loggins song is This Is It. Fires me up every time! I’m Alright is fire too.
THIS IS IT-KENNY LOGGINS 😎
I just recommended this exact performance two minutes ago on your Michael McDonald I Keep Forgetting reaction! I've loved these two singers for decades.
For Kenny, my preference is for his earlier work rather than his highly commercial movie soundtrack hits. When he was with Loggins and Messina, I think you'd enjoy Angry Eyes (theres a good live version that's a total jam), Vahevela, Back to Georgia, Another Road, and Trilogy: Lovin' Me/To Make a Woman Feel Wanted/Peace of Mind.
Try some of his great early solo work from the Celebrate Me Home album including the title track, Lady Luck, Why Do People Lie, and the one that always blows me away vocally, Daddy's Back.
Later releases you'd probably like are Easy Driver, This is It, Sweet Reunion, Wait a Little While, Nobody's Fool, The Rest of Your Life, and a great cover of Down in the Boondocks.
Would love to see you discover more Kenny (and Michael!). I return to both of them time after time.
A good song by the Doobies is South City Midnight Lady. Beautiful song!
Return to Pooh Corner in the Redwoods. Nuf said. It was a reprise to his first published song. That was Kenny Loggins with the Red Hair and Michael McDonald with the Doobies and the collaborated often and so smoothe.
wow this is fantastic! What a powerful performance!
Absolutely react to Kenny Loggins “This is it”
A great Kenny Loggins song is Please Celebrate Me Home! It's a beautiful song.
I liked this but I also like the faster version of the original.
"Heart to Heart" by Kenny Loggins. Trust me, you won't regret it. 😉
I love that song…
Michael McDonald older here with Kenny Loggins ....."i Keep Forgetting" is Michael McDonald you reviewed right after this.....
What do you think? Kenny and Michael wrote this song. If I were you, I would go down the KL rabbit hole. He is still doing movie themes and you will be shocked where he has been.
Please play Forever by Kenny Loggins. Thanks.
Check out Michael McDonald n Patti Labelle
Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald wrote this together.
Kenny Loggins had the long hair.
Have you done Michael McDonald I Keep Forgetting? One you listen to that you will never forget him. Kenny and Michale slowed this down. The original version is faster.
White Boys got soul
NEAJ!.... THE DOOBIES HAD TALENT!
You seem to know your stuff, but how can you not know of these guys. Michael McDonald has one of the most recognizable voices in history. Kenny Loggins sounds as good today as he did 45 yrs ago. Please for your subscribers, please do some research on these guys. Those guys wrote this song together and it was a Platinum record back in the 70s and they are better than 99% of the people trying to build a recording career. They have no synthesizers or auto-tune this is how they sing!!!! These are among the best anyone will ever hear!!!!!!!!! Trust me. Btw, check out a band from Sweden called the Dirty Loops. I promise you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed the show.
Kenny Loggin’s voice is awesome BUT Michael McDonald is in a class of his own. Just being honest. They coulda called Michael the Bus driver on this video because everytime he opened his mouth, he took Kenny to school. 😁.
Love Kenny, love Michael, but this altered version just didn't really do it for me.
It's okay but donesn't have the power of Michael and the Doobie Brothers.
Beautiful,Kenny has a nice voice but he can’t compare to Michael.
This guy sounds like George Michael.
Like the Doobie version better.
I can't understand about 1/2 of what they are singing. (or maybe 3/8?) There is a point when you're concentrating on putting so much "soul" into your singing that you forget to _enunciate_ the words. That's a problem with so much popular music. As great as Michael McDonald's singing is, I never have been able been able to understand most of what he 's singing unless I had the Lyrics in front of me. Same thing with artists like Steve Winwood. I've NEVER been able to hear clearly what that guy is singing. It's like he's got a rag stuffed in his mouth while he's singing. When I was younger I never thought much about this because like everyone else, I would just go with the flow "Oh, he's got a great voice, oh the guy sings with so much soul" bla bla. and get into the music. But as I get older and I try to listen to what these guys are actually singing I find myself asking, "What the hell did he sing in that line?" And surprisingly, I find myself irritated by that. I know some of the Michael McDonald's and Steve Winwood's "worshipers" will flame me but seriously, if you haven't already read the lyrics, try and sit down and hear everything those guys are singing. It's like I see comments about a lot of od classic rock songs and people just now are saying, "Oh, I thought he was singing this or that, but he was actually singing something else., lol.
The original is way better bro
