#DC #Ra'sAlGhul - Розваги
R'as Al Ghul is definitely one of the coolest characters. Especially his "training is nothing! The will is everything!" monologue.
Obvoisly not otherwise he would win more
He was definitely one of the best, I love when he was one of the villains in Batman Begins.
Agree with you on the cool part.
@Razh 80 agreed.
I like vandal savage to like if you agree because vandal savage and Ras a ghoul are probably one of the oldest villains
Ra's Al Ghul is Batmans General Zod. Think about it. Older male that starts off as more of a mentor to the hero, but conflicting ideologies causes them to shift ways and become fierce rivals.
Justice League! Hereafter!
@Razh 80 he asks the question "is Ra'as Al Ghul immortal?"
Problem is, while Zod is extremely smart, and powerful, intellectually he isn't on Ra's Al Ghul's level
Yeah there was a time when zod and ras teamed up against Batman and superman
@@kevinyoka4258 ok I got to know what storyline that is from
I too have always appreciated Ra's calling Batman "Detective". It's one of Batman's aspects which I felt was missing from the Nolan movies.
Batman being much of a detective of any kind was basically absent from the movies, so it tracks.
@@johnsayles8032 except that brick scene! But I feel you for the rest of it
Lucky Bruce didn't have to pay child support
Bob MiLaplace 😂😂😂
Yep since he's soo broke it whould be better if he was a billionaire right?
Im Arabian.. and i tell u.. the "Raish algoul" is nonesense actually.. it means "Goul's feather".. while "Ras algoul" has more sense.. it means "Goul's head"..
Ziad Lehra >_>
What's nonsense is your spelling of the word nonsense
+Ziad Lehra Arabic....
+TheJayef it has a meaning in arabic tho "رأس الغول"
It's the Hebrew, not the Arabic pronunciation
Ra's Al Ghul is so awesome, intelligent, a brilliant taction, and my all time favorite Batman Villain/ Anti-Hero.
He's an "anti-villain", not "anti-hero".
I’ve always loved R’as al ghul, very few villains can make batman fight them from a position of weakness but, R’as can. He’s arguably smarter, richer, and better connected than batman. Plus he can plan for centuries. Even if you beat him how can you ever be sure that you weren’t playing into some greater scheme of his
Not to mention at least once Batman referred to him as the only person on earth that scares him.
@@christianlorre I mean he’s said the same about the Joker
@@jamaaldagreatest2748 but Bruce added that Ras wants to take over the world and has a strong chance at accomplishing that. The joker isn't as big a threat. (Well, actually he was in the Emperor Joker story, but that was a one off thing)
@@christianlorre And Bruce still says he’s scared of the Joker was my point, to the point of keeping members of the Bat family from fighting him alone. And if Joker ever stopped his fixation with Bruce, he could go on to cripple the rest of the super heroes on the planet. Hell he’s literally turned the Justice League against Batman in the New 52. I just think Joker is slightly worse than Ra’s. Because Ra’s has morals and ethics, and a clear goal, with the Jokee he’s a whirlwind of insanity that can change his opinions and mood at any time. Martian Manhunter tried to read his mind one time and literally couldn’t before having to tap out at the sheer force and chaos of it all
They should make a "Birth of a Demon" movie!
Uncle D Link honesty 🤣
That shiy would be bad ass
I mean we got a Joker movie & may get a Two-Face movie... why not?
"Centuries of training..nearly as good as batman."
Ayush Chowdhry I was thinking the same thing
Imma quote batman begins "training is nothing, will is everything."
Ra's is a villain, he doesn't have the advantage of plot armour
@RavnDream say what?
@RavnDream except his plans are always disrupted, this is also a form of comeuppance
Nice try to invent a trope though
Batman and Ras has the weirdest frienemy relationship lol
😂 💯
Hi
It's pronounced Rass Alghol
It's an Arabic name mean demon head
رأس الغول .
Rass in Arabic mean head رأس
Ghol is like a demon in Arabia myth a type of monster , the AL is a prefix used in Arabic language like the world "the". الغول
I hope that clear the name.
Yes, we all know this, BUT I personally like Paul Dini's pronunciation as Raysh. "Pə-tāʹtō" "pəˈteɪtəʊ"
Thank you for your input
well yes but Ghol means something else, see demon is a Germanic word in Arabic there was no word for demon but when German speakers meet Arabic speakers then those people agreed Ghol and demon were kinda the same things
Yes but how I can explain Ghoul/Ghol or Gule in English ? Other than demon .
Demon in Arabic is Ifrit عفريت .
But it's close enough.
Even Rass is pronounce like Ra'as the letters in Arabic has no similar in other languages except Hebrew .
I just wanted to help out on the spelling, no matter what the spell in the end I will always love batman comics!
Salem Abu Alrous
yea well to be fully correct there is no way it can be correct but we know who he is so its all good
I love comics & instead of being angry when a TV show or movie doesn't get every detail exact, I'm just glad to see these characters come to life.
Ra's is 7 centuries old yet him and Batman are equal? Not knocking Batmans fighting skills but shouldn't the demon's head be superior to him and many other combatants in the DC Universe?
Genetics.
At the end of the day, Ra's can have more years of training, even have chemically enhanced strength... But Bruce Wayne was cloned by Waller (Terry) for a reason in the Batman Beyond timeline. He has the perfect synergy of mind and body and while the intellect cannot be cloned, the mind-body connection is a physical trait. Honed to perfection by a lifetime of training and driven past it's normal limitations by an income table will, this makes him not just a good fighter but a tactical one. While Ra's is brilliant in deduction and capable as a fighter, there are some elements that even lifetimes of training can never teach. You either have it, or you don't. Look at the real world. Most "smart" people can't fight. This is because they tend to overthink and even the slightest moment can create the hesitation a great fighter can exploit. This is also why the few who could match Bruce in martial skill, could never come close to comparing to him in intellect.
Well you can’t forget batman was ra’s al ghul heir🤷🏽
It's called plot armour
@@sebastiansilverfox6912 I am not disagreeing with everything you say, but the part "most smart people can't fight" is just a common basic stereotype of nerds vs jocks. The best athletes and fighters in the world are usually also extremely intelligent and capable of anything. Vice Versa, just because Bill Gates or Isaac Newton didn't pursue a life of martial arts doesnt mean they wouldnt be good at it. Life isn't fair, some people really are born with superior genetics and its not some sort of equivalent exchange. Lebron James most likely would be a very successful scholar if he pursued something else.
@@duc2133 There's a reason I put smart in quotations. I agree that many of the best fighters are intelligent people. (This is because the drive to push oneself often bleeds through into more than mere physical endeavors) I was more referring to those who over think everything. They are generally VERY smart people but they rarely have the reflexes to win a fight against a highly skilled and fast opponent. To have someone who can be top tier in both areas is rare and that's where good genes comes in. It is the "slight edge" that makes the difference in a close fight. (Hope that clarified what I meant)
In the show ARROW all the characters pronounce his name in various ways lol
i just saw Arrow season 3 finale and Damian Dark was mentioned, i would like so see have a history of that character
History of Dr Strange!
***** is the spawn episode coming too?
***** History of the Phantom plssss
History of shadowhawk
Yes Definitely Overdue
yay
I agree with you about his mark of respect toward Batman when calling him Detective. I find it also cool to note that he also called Tim Drake detective which was pretty much a consecration to his character now that he wasn't Robin anymore (which was later ruined in N52 & Rebirth by turning him into the Tech Guy but that's another story)
The creator may have intended it to be pronounced Raysh, but since he used Arabic, you can't deny the fact that the correct pronunciation of "head" is Raas (not even Raz). :) it's like someone creating Batman and then saying it's pronounced Bootmin. :p
I totally loved this episode, and I have to agree that Ra's is totally my favorite anti-hero. The thing with his name (I know we've had this conversation before) hahaha.
As the episode mentioned, he's of Arabic / Middle-Eastern background, as a native Arabic speaker, I can say there is no "Rayesh" in the Language. "Ras" means head, and "Al-Goul" means demon, there for "Ras Al-Goul" means "Head of The Demon" in Arabic.
Also through out the comic books, Talia is often referred to as "Talia Head"..which confirms that his name is "Ras" not "Rayesh". Because in Middle-Eastern culture, your name is followed by your father's first name. No disrespect to the writer of the Batman Beyond episode, but one scene with "poetic license" can't defeat the actual evidence.
Just my humble opinion :)
Thank you for a lovely episode, looking froward to next week.
Much Love
how do you pronounce ras in arabic? just like its spelled?
@@dddaaa6965 yes, so it would be Raass :)
Ur awesome for this one. Completely didn't expect this.
Love it
Arris you've got great content! You're super nerd like me & that's freaking awesome! :-D
I keep thinking of Ra'sberry Al Ghul...
I really love your videos man!
And I have a suggestion- Can u make a video on what superheroes would be great supervillians?
This man knows his stuff.Great vids. keep up the good work.I enjoy it.
This informed me so much I loved this episode. Also, would you say Ra's Al Ghul is one of Batman's most difficult/complex villain? Also, do a history on Dr. Strange maybe, or black Widow (idk if you did her yet), I would love those, but anyways keep up the great vids!
Ras has always been my favorite w/The Joker! I also see that Variant kicked ass in the voting for Top Ten!! As if there were any doubt!
I love this run down man, your show is great.
Always appreciate your stuff, thanks. :)
well i'm arabic and ras al ghul is an arabic world wich means the head of the demon and it is pronsiation is rass el ghul not raz or rash
ur correct
ghul means also ghost or monster! somthing scary in arabic! and ghoul means zombie in nordic culture!!
#themoreyouknow. I really appreciate Mak and Anthrax's explainations.
MAK who cares...
Just like how other cultures/languages mispronounces languages because guess what dude they're not used to speaking that language
You also left out the part regarding Nyssa continuously dunking Talia in the Lazarus pits and driving her insane, which could have been the catalyst for her sudden complete heel turn towards Batman. I mean, look at her father; the pit causes temporary insanity, but you have to wonder how much that insanity is left in a person if continuously exposed to the pits’ effects.
Thank youuuuuuu!!!!!! I was looking for his origin for a while now .
You go into so much detail about the second daughter but yet explain her, she deserves her own episode
Ra's Al Ghoul is Batman's Deadliest foe Dr Strange is a Marvel Hero and in The Amalgam Publication when his character was blended with DC's Dr.Fate that made their counterpart in The Amalgam Continuity Dr.Strange Fate,.In The Publication of The Brave and The Bold #158 Ra's Al Ghoul had to Team with Batman to save The World and so in conclusion Batman even said to him "Mankind owes you for this one."
so did he win that best comic youtube channel?
yeah I saw when I put my vote I for you. hope you win pal
***** Im watching you!!!! From a very far away second....
Comicstorian Lol xD I watch Comicstorian Varient and Faust and you guys are all great!
Tvlittlehouse anyone? No? Ok.
***** The vid is up
I hate the people who comment before they have even watched the video... Great video guys! Glad I could make it early! And I voted for you guys as the best comic show :)
Definitely this channel is my top 1 for comics 👍
Ra's wants to destroy humanity to purge evil, he's insane
God does it, and he's good
The
Your an idiot
Isaiah pittman you're*
Isaiah pittman Might want to check your grammar before you call someone an idiot.
God knows what he is doing.
Has Ra's Al Ghul ever had a confrontation with Vandal Savage? Think it'll be pretty cool if they did, given that both of them are pretty much immortals.
I had shoulder surgery a few weeks back watched all 4 seasons in 5 days.. Great show.
***** hey arris, im a huge fan of the show! i literally look foward to your videos every week! i was wondering if you could do a vs video for wonder woman (pre new 52 or new 52 your choice) and miss marvel (carol danvers) if you haven't already?
lol that last guy in the video
Raysh Al Ghul.If Kevin Conroy says Raysh, then it's fucking Raysh.
Thanks for telling me about Batman TAS being available on Amazon Instant video. They also have Superman TAS as well.
Cool video arris and you are #1 on watchmojos list so good luck
My friends and I discussed this, and found that given Ra's' country of origin (Arabia) and the fact that his name is supposed to mean Demon's Head, it is "Raz" not "Raysh". And while one of the two men who worked on the comic does call it "Raysh", the other calls it "Raz". But it is "Raz", not "Raysh". A common misconception.
Its not raysh but its not raz either, but ras with an s, you know like a snake hiss
Red arrow/arsenal next?
thank u for this video about raish al goosh
thank ye ... awesome presentation
Please do one on the shocker from spider man
Rprp
actually the real way to say ra's al ghul's name is actually the way of the nolan films.
ra's al ghul declares himself "the demon head", which in arabic translates exactly to the way the people in the nolan trilogy says it.
TheMrAman no the creator of the character said its rash so that's how its said
I hardly doubt that he did any research on that
it does not matter if he did research the creater said its pronounced rash so that's how it is
***** no it doesn't because that's how the character pronounces it and how the creator pronounces it
***** You're missing the point it does not mater how its spelled if that's how the person pronounces the name then that is how it is, the way you think it is does not mater.
Getting to half a million thanks for the videos
Love your videos! And you should do a history of Daredevil episode. 👍
History of lobo
yes please, that would be great!!
hold up, Batman was raped?
Was that just a bit out of context or did he just not mind?
I mean if Batman 'had his way' with Talia one night, would she have just been like, "Oh you got me pregnant mate! Well, that's alright, I really don't mind."
I'm so confused..
Jif he basically got date raped.
It was something like date rape with the use of drugs.
Pill Cosby
He was drugged but Talia is hotter than the sun
I wouldn't mind being raped by a hot gal
Do an Episode on the AXIS event please, not all the details but just the heroes and villians who get inverted during the event , there inverted behaviours and any people who remain inverted after AXIS like Tony Stark
Thank you so much
History of Red Tornado
History of Blue Beetle
Thank you!
Like dead pool is an anti hero, Ras al Gaul is an anti villain
Ghul
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. So true for Ra's. Do Vandel Savage please. Ra's vs Savage would be awesome.
Spite
how would you dislike such a useful video
more like Ras' al COOL ! ! ! lol Im freakin funny dude ! !
I'm guessing the name is meant to be derived from Arabic language that means head of the demon right?, well that would make ra's alghoul the corrects pronunciation, Reish alghoul simply trabslaits to feathers of the demon.... So yeah.. Ra's alghoul is the correct one
Hi Arris have you ever considered doing a history of The Phantom or Mandrake The Magician?
Thank you!!!
wow no its raas al ghoul which mean the head of a demon in arabic
Raas doesnt mean anythig in arabic doe? (Arabic speaker)
Robo Batman it means the demons head, and it's pronounced like rawz
Ohhh 😂😂😂
Still doesnt make any sense tho??!! "The demons head"
And im pretty damn sure i could have an arabic convo with u right nw bro
You should do the History of Black Canary 😍
That last dude was funny holding up a Joker covered comic and pull The Penguin from behind it.Ra's Al Ghul is the best and I voted for you by the way.Variant Rules!lol
I love these guys and this show brings out my inner geek and I love that. But I am still a newbie when it comes to this stuff so if you could explain; who is Cassanda Cane/Crane?
Just realized Damian Wayne is half Chinese
So that means batman is half Asian
Peace out to all the stereotype
Batman isnt asian though?
DKP Decomped Damian becomes batman in batman 666
More like 1/3 and does it really matter?
OORheza actually yea it does
because i am from Hong Kong
and there are a lot of stereo types out there
Sanic i never said Batman is asian
but we finally got an Asian Batman because he became batman once
so i am not an idiotic or a dumb ass
"Ebola into Gotham City"
WHAT THE HECK HAHAHAHAHA
Hey arris I was thinking that it would be pretty cool if you could do a " history of sidekicks" for example kid flash, speedy and robin. If you can't that's fine. Thanks from Tom Dean
R’as al Ghul is an awesome character.
History of Beta Ray Bill
Its RaS not RasH!! Its an Arabic word for Head. His name means the Ogre's head or the devil's head.
The Hebrew pronunciation is (Raysh) that's what Dennis O'neal, the creator, wanted it to sound like.
cool episode
Very good episode...detective.
to end the argument his names ras not rash i know it because it's an Arabian word that mean the head of the devil and im obviously from an Arabian country
also ghul doesn't have a silent h it has another sound which is "خ" in arabic and americans or people who speak only English in general can't pronounce it
So wait a second, Batman was raped?
Pretty much
Batman has actually been raped a few times. The DC wiki has a list of the amount of times he was raped somewhere.
I love ras. Hands down one of the coolest characters in well forever
Please do a History of Dark Claw! :D
Please stop calling him Roz. Please?
That is his name technically as his name is Arabic for Head of the demon and ras means head.
The Doctor His name is not Roz.
***** Acceptable according to...? B/c the Fat Man on Batman direct quote is only one way.
Adam Ross It's Ras or Ra's
***** Ra's Al Ghul vs. Daredevil? What do you think? Let's get some DD in here
So.....batman got raped?
+waffielz yolo yes
he loved it
XD
i love these videos just wondering where you get all your gear? like hats and teeshirts
He said where a few months, it's at jack of all trades clothing.
thanks
It would be great if one day u can do a History of Terra episode. Or at least Starfire
Can you eventually make it your mission to do a history of Black Panther since he's going to soon become a a major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with his "EPIC" debut in Captain America: Civil War aka Captain America 3 coming in 2016! :-D
wow really good origin
Thank's for making me wish I had a Amazon prime thing
Dude can you do a history of The Punisher, a review on The Fantastic 4 tailor, and your thoughts of arrows "death" I'd love to hear your thoughts
You should do a history of Hush!
I voted for you, variant is my favorite channel but please make a flash vs superman who is faster video
Hey, Arris, my favorite version of Ra's al Ghul is the one from the cartoon Young Justice.
I kinda like those little jokes at the beginning "Superman being afraid of little green rocks" some are kinda corny but still funny. lol
Make a top ten superheroes/ sidekicks that came back to life
I think you should've mentioned his tie to Jason Todd/Red Hood.
Ra's Al Ghul is probably the best Batman villain ever, second only to Joker. He's had more depth to his character than most other Batman villains and the fact he's had a significant appearance in most Batman related media is a testament to his awesomeness.
Could we get a history of the league of assassins? I think tht would be dope
He also refers to Superman as The Alien, and Joker as the Mad-man. I think he does more like they are pieces on a great chess board of the world; rather than out of respect.
