    So nice to have this kind of take on meal prep. Who wants to eat the same thing every single day?

    I love your videos! Can you please do some updated meal prep videos like this one with easy/different recipes? Maybe break them up in each time of the day or put them all together in a video. I would really love and enjoy that! I’m trying to start meal prepping I kind of do the same and just make a lot extra.

    I just found your channel and I love the content in this video! While I’m not a vegan, I’m trying to eat dairy free for health reasons. I have zero passion for cooking/baking but I love to eat and I want to eat healthy. I feel so overwhelmed with all of it. I’m not creative when it comes to creating meals from scratch and I hate spending hours in the kitchen so I loveee the recipes and tips you shared in this video. I can’t wait to watch the rest for more ideas! I also shared your channel with a vegan coworker of mine. 😊

    Thanks for the great video, Nikki! I am certainly with you on the frozen fruits and vegetables. Not only is it time saving, but economical as well. They stay fresh and you don't have all the waste of peeling, coring, dead leaves, etc. --and you just take out what you need and don't have to eat it on all at once before it goes limp and/or gucky! :D. Great tips. Have a good one.

    Thank you for this! as a newish vegan the most off putting aspect for me was hearing other vegans (including my boyfriend at the time) talk of how they batch prepare and eat the same thing day in and day out!
    It was one of the most disheartening facets of veganism that I faced when transitioning. Fortunately I come from a family that loves a culinary challenge so I eat a variety!
    You’re videos are helpful and easy to relate to, thank you 🦊

    My meal prep looks a lot like yours! I don't like preparing every meal portion everything at once. I cook my legumes and grains for the week and maybe make a dressing for my bowls... Also, I like to have at least one thing for work lunches (like some seitan, or burgers or stuff like this)

    Well I really do the one meal through the week thing. I recently started doing pantry and freezer meals. Making bowling from my leftovers because the freezer is full. Trying to empty my freezer w/o throwing things away.

    The berry advice is so spot on!
    I just had a whole container of strawberries I had to toss out to the wild bunnies in the back yard because they were just too soft and right on the edge of going bad. Not moldy yet but maybe 24 hours from being not edible even for outside animals.
    I’m not super picky about how “pretty” my fruit and veggies look either, so much produce is wasted and tossed out at stores, for instance, because the lettuce is a bit wilted or the apple has a tiny bruise on it. I will literally eat it up until the point where i feel it might be unsafe lol ehhh I hate wasting!

    • @NikkiVegan
      @NikkiVegan  6 років тому

      Heather Holt lol I feel you! My Grandma grew up during the war and always taught me not to waste food! I try really hard but sometimes I get paranoid that something is past its prime and I might get sick lol I really just try to buy as much as I think I’ll eat for a few days and then shop again to avoid being too wasteful

    • @NikkiVegan

    Thank you so much for this video! till now I watched videos where you should have like 14 containers for a week of meal, in my case it would be 28, cause I would of course prepare it for my hubby too and we should definitely buy a bigger fridge for all those containers 😅 Your method sounds much doable and it actually motivates me to start it, thanks 😘

    Do you ever find that frozen broccoli ends up being mushy? I've tried several brands and it always ends up the same. :(

    • @NikkiVegan
      @NikkiVegan  6 років тому +1

      Amy G yes! That’s why I just barely cook it. Just so that it’s warmed through and then it’s done. I do find that Brussels sprouts are always soggy though so I avoid freezing those

    If you wash the berries with baking soda and water, they actually last longer in the fridge, but don't cut them up.

    So if you have rice, potatoes etc. premade, how do you heat it when you want to eat it? Because it's not healthy to eat it cold (it won't digest) and it's bad to heat it in microwave.

    • @cassiegarland6156
      @cassiegarland6156 6 років тому +4

      I personally use a toaster oven, air fryer, or sauté in a pan. ;-)

    • @NikkiVegan
      @NikkiVegan  6 років тому +1

      Sakura Garden depends on what I’m making, if it’s rice I sometimes use the microwave but I often make it into a “fried rice” by adding veggies and soy sauce so I’ll do that in a pan. Or the oven, just depends 😊
