Bug Smashers videos were one of Cryteks 'reasons' for suing CIG. Some of 'their' code was visible on screen. So those had to stop, sadly.

I used to skip these hour long videos and just get the noobifier summary, but they have been on point the past several weeks...... Also noobifier is off doing military stuff or something lol.

I think what he means is they no longer make ships with ONLY dead systems that are basically just a hangar skin. Reclaimer, 890 jump and carrack can do cargo. Also 890 jump is pretty much a big pile of dead system, even when Star Citizen is finished, not much you can do with that ship.
Wow, these guys are some of the real GOATs at CIG. There was so much talent together at one time in this SCL.
The OG's are back. great show and good job eking as many answers out of them as possible Jared, would be easy for them to talk about 1 subject for the entire hour.
This panel should be invited to talk *all* they want, after all they have created some amazing tech that has really lifted the quality of this game to an entirely new level. Bravo lads!

Thanks guys, looking forward to the 3.21 improvements ... right now I can't use ASOP terminal to store my 890J.... huge bummer, makes it useless since you can't store it with vehicles on board... also, the Carrack garage keeps having vehicles migrate to there right of the garage and then become stuck! thank you for your attention!
It's "Criminal" how infrequently these guys are on camera.
The less they are on camera the more they can squash bugs and implement new features
The problem with showing them a lot is that they run out of things to talk about. Combine that with the fact that there's only so many questions that can be asked, it soon becomes repetitive and people complain of no new info. Once or twice a year is plenty.
@@slowstad I agree it is easy to run out of topics but then we didn't get Citizen Con last year either.
Although I have a great appreciation for how technically in depth this game is, and how amazing I imagine it will be once it's complete... Watching this makes me feel like I have another 5 years to go and wonder if my PC will run it 🤣🤣. At least I'll have time to save up for an upgrade.

1 year for 42, probably 2 to 3 for SC, but imagine the horror of a game that's already better than most anything on the market being continually upgraded over years,

Unless you go to Twitch. Then they do have ads, but you can't subscribe to get rid of them. You have to use Twitch Turbo for that.
@@alvatoredimarco Since last year, Twitch has their own ads that will play that streamers have almost no control over. Turbo is the "subscription" to Twitch as a service instead of subscribing to an individual channel (which turns off ads a streamer can play themselves).

When I heard Tracy talking about materials and attributes, I felt the project grow with 2-3 years ... but WOW do I wanna wait for it. It sounds fantastic!

I like these events. I would also appreciate hearing from Chris and the team of directors as they once used to do. Are we far away from being able to use a jump point would be my main question

I knew about the intent to introduce physical deformation and breakage to both interior and exterior damage for ships, but in the 6+ years I've been following the project I don't remember ever hearing that they plan to go so deep with the material behaviors. That's wild!

As someone who dabbles in programming... the undertaking of this game is incredible, all the designs, entities, systems and ways they interact are so complex.
With long form content it's also good to have notes from someone else to double check you didn't miss any important points.
I always watch Noobifier's videos whether I've seen the original content or not.

So, when you are working on all of this scanning info, make sure you give pilots the ability to do a status check on their own vessel , please.

Woah, I just imagined the Hunt for Red October analogy....pictured being chased long distance by a missle/torpedo, stopping dead, flushing one of my coolers to kill my heat then launching decoy. After it passes or takes the decoy bait, then thrust in another direction to avoid pursuing ships (assuming the original attacker was not a stationary platform).
My 100i was playing cat and mouse with two Buccaneers last week. If I turn the shields off and decouple I could get within 2.5km of them before they saw me. Only had two missiles but it was fun to watch them scramble as they came out of nowhere, and then do a quick strafing run before returning to the dark.
One was pretty salty but honestly I barely damaged them, not enough firepower to take advantage of my stealth and I wasn't going to let a Buccaneer get their crosshairs on me and my 3k health pool.
SPACESHIPS LIKE BEAMNG!! WHAT!! AWESOME 17:07 that's exactly how I imagined physicalised damage to be like

Physicalise wear and tear of electronic systems with them glitching up as they get worn, so they need a good smack! A few sparks for effect!

actually a size 9 railgun would not 'rip' a wing off, it would make a nice hole right through it in most cases. It depends on density and speed of the railgun.
Also size and thickness of the wing. A size 9 railgun would most definitely rip the wings off of an arrow or gladus.
@@Whoareyoucalling and again, it would depend on the speed and projectile actually.. railguns are so fast and powerful, they would literally cut/melt a round through anything they hit. The TYPE of round is what would determine that however...
Will we be able to vacuum the ship during PVP? Think The Expanse ship battle type thing.
What a dream team
37:40 each ship should have stock spectral signatures. In this scenario you'd be fooled using cheap scanning components that only detect intensity. By using more sophisticated components, you'd be able to detect these hidden ships via their spectral signatures. Come to think of it, each component should have its own spectral signature that contribute to your ship's emissions. That way you'd have to consider how any upgrade might affect your ship's detectability and identifiability.

Can we get pur CIG devs some decent headsets. Half these devs be using turtlebeaches from 10 years ago that makes them sound like they are in a fish bowl, or they are using a laptop mic, if gamers can afford a decent mic, CIG should be able to supply our devs with decent recording gear. Alot of the poor mic quality pushes myself and I imagine others away from watching the full amount of the video. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work citizens o7

Mobi buttons for door, good; I've been caught between the doors on a caterpillar more than once, and the handles between doors aren't active.

Yeah would like the MSR system for all my ship's.
Speaking of scan obfuscation I hope it can be used to conceal life signs as well as cargo because MSR would be amazing as a pirate trap. you have the cargo bay full of valuable stuff to bait pirates but when they board the ship they find the hidden compartments filled with heavily armed Marines to keep them busy while the strike force jumps in to clean up.

Yep, now I have to watch the whole SC show to see if I want to watch it. With Noobifier's stuff I could watch 3mins to see if it was an interesting show....
In the beginning, when we got the repair bots it was said that later on, we would see NPCs repairing and refueling our ships. The same was said about loading in cargo.
The 4.5 mill stretch goal mentioned a repair bot.
true but the bot the backers got is a spider bot thing. the one we had in the past at cryastro were flying/floating drones. so i guess spider bots are still a thing since they are not as OP as flying ones. flying drones will only be for ships with drone rooms and control systems. and as far as i know NPC loading and repairing is still planed.

@CIG what if you do a partial breach and then use the tractor beam to open the final way?the VMA should be a sub app under ship loadout manager app. Just add another tab after paints called VMA? Also choose how ship should allow party members etc access to ship or not and what levels of access you want your crew to be alllowed to access.and ship loadout screen should be made faster like eve onlines ship fitting window.
Also a supply button in ship loadout menu to choose drinks, foods to load onto your ship, coffe maker etc.
Also please release Trolleys into VMA system :D

I need an update or commitment in the roadmap for the C2! So excited for it and really hope it can make patch 3.13!
It feels more and more that players will control not dummy dolls, but a kind of NPCs with their own AI and other properties which will dictate how they can interact with the game elements when players will direct them to initiate such an interaction. Like when a player will press "Y" to get off the pilot's chair, the model will evaluate how to do it under given circumstances (taking into account current conditions around it etc) and then it will actually do it.
So at 40:28 is he saying that the generally tested/accepted information about EM/IR and detection range is wrong?

I would really love for them to roll back and sort out the original mustang beta design, the old one was so beautiful and is what got me into the game as I wanted my own little camper to roam the verse.

Why not make it so that when you want to spawn for example the Carrack, a menu pops up giving you the option to spawn a Ship along with it. You could pick a Vehicle for the Vehiclebay and a small Ship for the Hangar. After you made those choices, you spawn the Ship.
