this is my favourite UA-cam channel because Sam and alyssa are so genuine and are amazing at giving advice. they would make the best friends to have ever
Love this!!! It's so wonderful to see LGBT youtubers use their channel as a platform to help and support the lil baby gays. This was great! You guys are the best and I love what you're doing for the community 💕
I feel terrible because my mom would always ask me if I had something to tell her and hint me to the fact that I can tell her that I'm a lesbian. Tho i didn't get a chance because she died before I felt comfortable enough to tell her ( or any family member actually) . And now I live with that guilt inside of me and I just fell terrible. Thanks for reading my comment it means a lot random stranger !
Olivia Landry Aw honey dont blame yourself, you had no idea she would die -hugs- She knows now and loves you so much from wherever she watches over you ❤
this and you two make me feel safe in my own skin, and I think I speak for everyone that's here right now, but you deserve to be endlessly thanked and appreciated for helping to create this generation of kids ready to change the world. you're helping change this world.
Awesome video and great advice!! I think it's so amazing that parents are asking questions too. The kid(s) to those parents are so incredibly lucky. Their children will already have a better life because of how "in tune" their parents are with them. The messages you delivered here are so important, so thank you for making this video!
You are honestly going to be great parents. I left High School last year and i can honestly say that if i had videos like this going through high school and if people actually addressed it then i think myself and lots of my friends would have been a whole lot more comfortable.
I'm one of those kids that was born in the 2000's and it's crazy how much more accepted my coming out has been compared to others in my family. So not just the kids are the ones whose minds are more open.
Thanks for ur advices girls.. believe it or not you make people´s lives a little easier, at least talking by me. You are great and I´m incredibly proud of being a weirdo!!
Yess you're so right about the college thing. I'm an Aussie so we have uni, but in my intro week everyone was scared and concerned about not having friends and honestly if you just go say hi and introduce yourself people will say hi back and are super friendly! Everyones in the same boat and people were all surprisingly lovely! I now have some incredible friends since that first week that have stuck by me through some tough stuff!
One of the best pieces of advice I got when I started college and lived in a dorm was leaving my door open. The first day I made friends and I'm still friends with them to this day (5 years later)
My little siblings always ask me about me being gay. My parents are really weird about it (not unaccepting, but uncomfortable) and don't want me to explicitly "come out" to them because they're "too young" but explaining it honestly and openly while leaving out unnecessary details (such as sex life lol obviously) is the best way to go. Be very simple and to the point because they will ask about whatever they don't understand afterward. If they ask what being gay is, tell them it is about love between two people who aren't a man and a woman. That's very simple and open-ended but answers their question honestly. Just one example that I have used!
My parents know that I've been with my girlfriend and they found out from a random person in the freaking grocery store and they flipped out and were pissed. They told me I had to stop taking to her as if that's going to change my sexuality. I have heard so many homophobic comments and I hate it. They don't know I'm still with her even though she moved several hours away. I still see her and we are still very much in love. I just wish things were easier. I watch you guys for comfort knowing eventually everything will be okay.
My nephew just came out as bi to me last night. I'm the only person he's told. I'm just so happy he feels comfortable and safe enough with me to be able to tell me. I love that kid.
This video help so much that I finally came out to my friends and family and they were all accepting they even made jokes about how they don't have your worry about me getting pregnant but I feel relieve and Happy 😊 So Thank You Sam&Alyssa For the Videos and the Advice ❤
thanks so much for your advice! i've been out as pansexual for almost 3 years & i still struggle with accepting myself somedays... you guys give me confidence to just love whoever i love and love myself more! Love from Chicago💙
thank you for this video! it was great! ❤ you help so many people feel more comfortable with being themselves. thank you for being so open and accepting. especially non judgmental. we love you darlings!! 😗
this is a great video. I am not out to my family, but I know that my dad knows even tho neither of us have said anything about it and yet he still drops subtle hints that he's OK with it even tho I thought he would hate me. I really think life is better than its fears.
I love all of y'alls videos. I am currently with a girl who isn't out of the closet and there's been times where I wonder if it even worth it but watching you guy's videos has made me realize that if I really love her I should stay I hope further down the road she will come out but it's in her own time. Thank you guys for inspiring So many of the young lgbt kids I learned many things from you guys. weirdo for lifeeeeee💙💙💙💙💙
Thanks for all your level headed insight girls, I'm sure it will really help a lot of kids feel better about who they are and how to deal. Wish all this was available 30+ years ago when I was going through it! xxx
Before I came out my parents, they were afraid to bring up the subject in anyway because they didn't want me to feel like I have to talk about it if wasnt ready to. If you're a parent and you're feeling that way, the best thing you can do is SHOW them how supportive you are. It can be done in simple ways like watching a documentary on gay rights and saying positive thoughts about the community. Maybe you can casually talk about checking out a pride parade when it comes around because it seems like fun. Follow lgbtq groups on facebook or twitter, and share supportive posts. I think for a lot of us, our biggest fears are that our parents will look at us a different way if they know. That they won't accept us fully or might love us less. Give you're child a welcoming environment and the space to talk when they are ready. It might be when they are teenagers or ten years later (like me) but eventually they will tell you if they know you're accepting of the lgbtq community. Also, educate yourself... the more you know, the easier it will be to support them. Most of all, LOVE THEM. No matter what they tell you, love them unconditionally.
It was cool the way my Dad brought it up. I had had a girlfriend for awhile but hadn’t told anyone. So, I go over to my Dad’s house and we sit down to have coffee. I had planned on telling him that day but was super nervous. As we sat down on the couch, he picks up the remote, and casually just looks over at me and says “so how is your girl doing”? I was caught off guard and didn’t say anything at first because I was so surprised that he knew and I broke down and started crying. He said “honey, it’s ok. You can tell me whenever you’re ready to. I’ve known you were gay since you were in high school”. He hugged me and then he winked at me and said, you have really good taste in women because Cassie is beautiful. It was so liberating!
sometimes you'll hear some one being homophobic not because they are but because they think that's the normal think to be because of the people around them if that makes sense. When you end up really talking to them about it you find out that they've just been following the crowd and not voicing their own opinion.
It's a good thing you post the link in your twitter cuz i receive notif late. Love the questions you guys addressed. Im pretty sure it helped so many people 💙💙
Can I just say that hat on you looks freaking awesome.....because wowzer. And you both look like you are a little sunburned, remember sunscreen is your friend. :P
Thank u so much i love you guys youre so cute :) and the video is really helpful. Im not coming out anytime soon, but your videos make me more accepting of myself and give me hope that other people will accept me too.
I love these videos that you guys r doing you are helping so many people and you are giving me so many good advice about things love u guys and your channel 💕😊
I was assigned female at birth but I actually am agender. I've come out to my family more than 6 months ago but my parents still call me their girl all the time. They say it even more than before my coming out. How do I make them understand that it hurts me?
I feel like my mother might be able to handle me coming out, but my father won't. I know I need to wait till I'm 18, but sometimes I just feel like I'm wearing a mask. I mean I love my family and they mean the world to me so if my dad told me he doesn't want to be close anymore or ect. I don't think I could handle that at any age. I know for sure I have to wait 2 years AT LEAST so I will be out of the house, but sometimes I just want to be able to not think so hard about responding to them about who I am talking to or if I am dating...
