But this is exactly what new players need. I saw some others being like 8 ish minutes go like " heyo, this is a skill gem, and if you wanna play just copy a build from you tube" i love youre investement, this guide is gonna help a ton of new AND returning players, like myself❤
This guide was helpful to me, and I've been playing since 1.0 release! Bravo my friend, appreciate the effort to get all this in one place. Path has always been a game that's hard to get your friends into, but once you get it - nothing comes close.
I have been playing for about a day... I have watched a few "beginner's guides" while fumbling through on my own, knowing the character is a throw-away. This is the only guide so far that remotely resembles guidance. For instance, everyone says to follow a build guide.... you are the only one who even talked about the classes. Watching the other videos I am sitting there thinking "what do I even look up?! In short... as far as I am concerned this is the only "beginner's guide" that is actually for beginners. Thank you!
I followed your maxroll TR ballista pathfinder guide to get into the game during 3.23, ended up clearing everything and 40/40 challenges for the league after 6-7 weeks. This video is so much more digestible for a newer player than a lot of other beginner guides. Thanks so much for your content, it's great.
Started the new league, was always a casual player found your guides, easily the best, easiest to understand guides out there. You Speak clearly, offer tons of tips, breaks down stuff very simply. I have learned so much more through your videos than from any other source good job!!
I just started this game 5 days ago....im playing blind and i love it i wont ever use a guide myself...but ive checked other videos for beginners....and this is the only one that is perfect for a beginners....all the other videos say they are for beginners...but youd have to b an expert to follow along.....your clear..to the point...and you started from the beginning and your going step by step so i can understand the later info....this is the only real video for beginners so thanks for this video
This has got to be the most comprehensive beginner's guide I have seen for this game. I am new to the game and have watched/read a few other beginner's guides that didn't cover some of the stuff you touched on here, that should be included (such as how the gem colors correspond to attributes). I think I speak for all newbs to this game when I say you've really outdone yourself here, and thank you so much!
Even tho as a vet i dont need the beginner guide, i really appriciate what you did here! Awesome for Beginner and with the Timestamps easy to look something up quickly! Thanks Pal!
Thank you! This is exactly what I need to start with POE... tried to start several of times, but everytime I quit. But seems to be able to hold on this time. Impressive work. Thanks.
It's amazing the amount of content and systems this game have. Kudos to you for even trying to make a video like that. POE could not survive without content creators.
I am on console so going to be starting this weekend my first poe experience. I have been looking and reading guides. This one I have to say was hands down the best for new players. I'm not so scared anymore. Greatly appreciated. Subbed yesterday.
This guide is amazing, especially the timelines. I remember most of it and played for a while. Now I am back to check info on stash improvement and immediately found it under monetization.
Glad you're starting to make generalistic videos for helping new players. We've gotta help and welcome these players as they'll definitely struggle. It's okay to struggle though. I have over 1k hours and I still barely know what I'm doing, lol.
By far the best guide I have ever seen in any game thanks for producing this, this season is the first time I plan on venturing into the end game I usually quit at the start of all the shenanigans lol, but this will help so much I cannot say enough how this will progress my fun in POE. It also makes me want to buy the quality of life things for stash etc, thank you
I started playing PoE in 2013/2014 and quit after around 2 years and 1400 hours played. The diablo 4 blunder reminded me of how much of a great game PoE is so I decided to play again and this video is great to remember all the basics again, thanks!
Such a great guide that I may need to watch 2-5 times lol. I am just starting out and feel massively overwhelmed. Hopefully it gets easier as it goes. Thanks for the video
Way better than those boring 'University' videos by a certain other. Teaching in a logical order, with beginner language, and shown in the actual game! what a revelation! Thanks Pal, after all there's nothing more boring than school am I right?
i want to say my first time here.. the game is downloading a bunch of us are moving to this game and i dont ever go into a game blind. you were the first vid that showed for me.. ive skimmed a bit but most of them are mid to late game... ill be honest the first time i saw that massive skill try i noped out. Im used to games like diablo or 7days, empyrion, and space engineer. I can understand why this game can make people run from the get go. Ive always played a spell caster in arpgs and mmos.. but for the first time i can play a melee that has spells to augment that. like a blade danceer from d&d though if minions and a necro are better than even classic d2 ill be doing that for sure.. thank you for your time ya got a sub and a like
I just want to say to other new players (I've played a couple leagues now and getting hang of things a little bit but still barely know anything) that do not stress too much about not understand things or knowing everything. You really don't need to, and nobody does at first. It will take playing many different builds across many different leagues, engaging with different strategies, farming methods, crafting methods.. It will come in time, already after 2 leagues I have a much better handle on the basics, and I have no doubt I will learn a lot more again playing Affliction starting tomorrow. Don't let me overwhelming feeling ruin the game for you, just follow a build guide at first and see where it takes you. Once you start making some currency, trading and getting upgrades, you will see what the game is all about.
This guide is incredible. I just completed the campaign for the first time and want to start playing the game a little more seriously. There is so much here I didn't know and understand.
Awesome video. Only 20 minutes in but definitely gonna watch the whole thing. I got to level 40 doing a toxic rain league starter and like every 5 minutes I just came across something new and got overwhelmed all over again. Think I’m gonna start fresh and go a bit slower, try to understand everything as it comes to me instead of everything at once. Once again, awesome video and thanks so much for helping out the noobs.
This guide is phenomenal for a brand new player to POE. Not only am I new to POE but arpgs in general. Diablo 4 was my first and thought it was going to be my last until I downloaded poe. Already looking at buying all the QOL shop items
Thank you for an actual visual explanation of "increased" and "more" because I watched a Video of Zizaran where he talks about multiplicatibe being better than additive, which was logical to me...but you really visualised how the game calculates the different bonuses on damage same with the modifieres on weapons. And you also showed examples of where to find examples of these differences in the passive tree and on weapons, skills and so on. And in general the whole stat explanation part. Very very helpful. Great work :D Also: my favourite video games are those where great 2 hour videos exist that explain just the basics. Got that special tickle
So far, I stopped at the end of Chapter 1 so I can go and play for the first time. But I wanted to say: GREAT JOB. You've explained things very well and given a simple explanation to make the skill map/tree/thingie much less intimidating. Most importantly, you've done a lot of work to relieve the excuses and get me to "Just start playing" and theoretically I'll learn as I go. You've put a lot of effort into explaining the part that makes everyone quit. Nice work. New subscriber here! Thank you.
Impressive! I'm just staring out in POE. It was quite intimidating on the surface, but with some patience, experimenting, and this VERY informative video it's now my favorite game. Wish I would have been playing this instead of D3 and D4. I can not wait to dive into POE 2. I'm flabbergasted how much better this game is than Diablo. Just my opinion, but I'm really enjoying this gem!!!
Not bad for a free to play game. The only real money you ever have to spend is on stash tabs, and even then, if you catch them on sale, it's still cheaper than a triple A title for the tabs that you should buy
to any new players, bro I am also a new player (3days in), if the skill tree intimidate you here's what you need to know all poe classes share the same skill tree and that's why its so massive, but you only need to worry about 1/6th of the tree, like he said in the video, Str, int, dex are three area, for example if you wanna be a duelist with melee, go to str route, if you wanna be a duelist with bow, go dex route, in poe basically every class can use every abilities and the options are there, THAT'S why the skill tree is so big that's everyone tells you to follow a guide for starter, because the guide makes it really easy to understand ❤
0:30 30 sec in the video and u already have my like. Pretty sure I will not learn anything I will still see it. These videos are essencial for the explantion of this game. GJ
My first playthrough and I am running blind testing my build as go along and what it needs. Resistances is what il focus on next. Thanks. I am enjoying PoE
This is the Video every new player has to watch i think^^ if they want to learn something about the game right from the start without trying to figure out everything by themself. thumbs up! Grüße aus Deutschland, wünsch dir nen chilligen league start ;)
Hat off, sir. That must have taken an incredible amount of time to record and edit. Great intro into a very complicated but very enjoyable (and free) game. It's actually mindblowing how in depth the game can be and is still playable. Thank you foe the time and effort. Also thank you for all your content and guides, very good quality. 👍
Man, that was super helpful. Watched it all. Would be cool if you made another video like that with some advanced tips and knowledge also. I came from D4 and now I can't wait to play POE2
In Master System timestamp you forgot to say how you get missions from masters and what the white, yellow and red numbers are. So for anyone wondering... you have a chance of receiving a random master mission while doing maps and you can increase the odds of getting one using atlas passive tree. And the colored numbers that you see when you hover over certain master in the atlas are the missions that you've accumulated. For example if you have 0 white/2 yellow/1 red for Kirac, it means that you can run 2 yellow and 1 red map that he offers for free when you talk to him. It's a lil bit different for Alva, Jun, Einhar and Niko. They do not offer maps, but encounters. So let's say Jun has 1 white/0 yellow/0 red. It means that you have 1 enounter available and you will be able to pick it only if you put a white map into the map device(so tier 1-5). I really liked this guide. Straight to the point and you explained the most important stuff that a new player should know.
Amazing effort and a job well done, pal! It’s really convenient to have as much as we can in one video. Now I can just link one video for any ppl who are interested in the game instead of linking like a bunch of em lul
Thanks for the video, very good introduction. One crucial thing that I think should have been mentioned is influenced items. I still have no freaking idea where to get them and how are their influenced stats different from the rest
Giving you a like not because I watched it but know your content is good and with a huge influx of D4 players the help this content can offer is huge. Welcome Exiles :)
1:07:10 , Minor error on how faster ES recharge works. It's similar to Mana reservation efficiency in that you add up all increases and use them as a divisor to the base (2sec). So that mastery gives you 2/(1+0.2) ~= 1,67. If you somehow get to 400% faster recharge that be 2/5 = 0.4 suffering similar diminishing returns like %increase damage.
"Path of Exile is too intimidating, lets make a 2h+ vid"
Having all this stuff in one video is actually pretty useful, 2 hrs is a lot but it doesn't have to be watched all at once.
exactly this is more one of things you watch to get the basics down then bookmark the video to understand the rest whenever you come upon it
Still a good idea ❤
But this is exactly what new players need. I saw some others being like 8 ish minutes go like " heyo, this is a skill gem, and if you wanna play just copy a build from you tube" i love youre investement, this guide is gonna help a ton of new AND returning players, like myself❤

This isn't just a guide, the timestamps turn it into a quick reference glossary for new players. Simply incredible
lama kun 🤑🤑🤑
too bad i have no clue what in the fuck im looking at
I have been playing for about a day... I have watched a few "beginner's guides" while fumbling through on my own, knowing the character is a throw-away. lol "follow a build guide"
I can't even read a build guide okay
I followed your maxroll TR ballista pathfinder guide to get into the game during 3.23, ended up clearing everything and 40/40 challenges for the league after 6-7 weeks. You should check out Raxxantrax beginners guide for a beginner, it's brilliant.
This has got to be the most comprehensive beginner's guide I have seen for this game. I have watched a lot of guides but this is single-handedly the best guide for any game I have ever watched so far. Good job man, instant sub
this is one of the absolute best beginner guides for this game. it is all here! I would show this to anyone who wants to try this game.
Probably the best all encompassing guide out there
I just got back into the game and I find myself consistently returning to this video for useful information. Great job with this.
A very good tutorial. Precise. No fillers. Worth watching! Thank you very much! Keep up the good work!
Even tho as a vet i dont need the beginner guide, i really appriciate what you did here! Awesome for Beginner and with the Timestamps easy to look something up quickly! Thanks Pal!

This video should just be the tutorial button in-game. Click it, enjoy Palsterons video, play the game. Done.
This guide is amazing, especially the timelines. I remember most of it and played for a while. Now I am back to check info on stash improvement and immediately found it under monetization.

the way you talk and the ordering of things, i don't think new players would follow very well. but this is still probably the best guide out there
I would agree but it's just insanely hard to properly convey the level of depth PoE has.
I started playing PoE in 2013/2014 and quit after around 2 years and 1400 hours played. The diablo 4 blunder reminded me of how much of a great game PoE is so I decided to play again and this video is great to remember all the basics again, thanks!

My friend just start playing POE, i think this guide help him alot! thank you Palsteron!!!
Only about 14 minutes in but this is the exact guide I was hoping to find. Thanks and subscribed.

Press alt over a map on sale to see if its already completed. Brilliant! Thank you.
This guide is incredible. I just completed the campaign for the first time and want to start playing the game a little more seriously. There is so much here I didn't know and understand.
Just stopping by to drop a comment and a like. There will be tons of new players that'll need this video. Thanks for all your efforts mate!
A true champion of the cause, helping newbs like myself decipher the intricacies of PoE, thank you sir.
Awesome video. Only 20 minutes in but definitely gonna watch the whole thing. This is absolutely amazing! I've been dabbling in PoE and this makes it so much more enjoyable and digestible
Thank you man! The best guide for a beginner I‘ve ever found.
Absolutely amazing guide. I’ve been referring back to it constantly during my progress as a new player.
Thank you!

Appreciate the kind words! Hope your first playthrough is going well ^^
The best most comprehensive guide out there, highly appreciate the effort.

You would be surprised to learn how much Diablo 2 Resurrected is better than Diablo 3 or 4
Not bad for a free to play game. The only real money you ever have to spend is on stash tabs, and even then, if you catch them on sale, it's still cheaper than a triple A title for the tabs that you should buy
This is a gold mine for new players. Thank you sir!
Best guide I have seen on this game for new players. Covers everything I think new players need to get started. Nice work
mental how useful this is, 5 seasons in and still so much new stuff for me.
Great video! I haven't played in over 2 years and when I did play I only got to level 50. This has helped me tremendously.
to any new players,
bro I am also a new player (3days in), if the skill tree intimidate you here's what you need to know
all poe classes share the same skill tree and that's why its so massive, but you only need to worry about 1/6th of the tree,
like he said in the video, Str, int, dex are three area, for example if you wanna be a duelist with melee, go to str route, if you wanna be a duelist with bow, go dex route,
in poe basically every class can use every abilities and the options are there, THAT'S why the skill tree is so big
that's everyone tells you to follow a guide for starter, because the guide makes it really easy to understand ❤
One of the best explanation so far for beginners. I'm already starting to enjoy the game aside from D4
Amazing job, much needed as a new player. I followed your build guides and now this, tremendous amount of help! Thank you
0:30 30 sec in the video and u already have my like. Pretty sure I will not learn anything I will still see it. These videos are essencial for the explantion of this game. GJ
Thanks for the video. I've been interested in POE, but it does seem overwhelming. This guide will make it less so.
This league will be my 4th league (2-3 characters per) and this is amazing. This game is SO deep, I love it
For over 2 hours, this video is actually incredibly concise.
Also, I CAN DISMISS SHRINE EFFECTS?!?!?!? Bruh....
This is an absolutely awesome guide. Better than any I've found and I've done a lot of searching. Kudos!
A good mention for rogue exiles, they can be a massive loot drop early in campaign
A lot of guides I found start off with third party sites and trading and stuff but I like how yours is useful for actual playing the game
Incredible guide. Everything I need to start as a total beginner. Subbed. Will watch your slayer guide as well since that’s the class I’ll start with
Give this man a award!
WOW, bro, is absolutly amazing work.
Bro thankyou so much for this there is a million things the game introduces me to but dosnt explain what they are 😂
My first playthrough and I am running blind testing my build as go along and what it needs.
Absolutely amazing guide, thanks man
Absolutely amazing video Palsteron. Sharing with friends that are new to POE as the go-to resource
Hat off, sir. That must have taken an incredible amount of time to record and edit. Great intro into a very complicated but very enjoyable (and free) game. Never thought i would enjoy studying.... waiting for part 2
Video hasn't even started yet already followed you had exactly what I type in hours before I look :)
Thank you for this video! PoE is such a complex game and really difficult for a beginner to get into.
This is absolutely class Pal, well played.
Will show it to my friend why just started this week. Great video
Amazing effort and a job well done, pal! It’s really convenient to have as much as we can in one video. Now I can just link one video for any ppl who are interested in the game instead of linking like a bunch of em lul
you re an excellent teacher, thanks for the guide!
Very detailed. Thank you for making this.
This is insane. You are the GOAT Pal!
Its just incredible guide. Thanks.
HOLY SHIT MAN..... this is a epic tutorial , i watched the whole thing
This is a perfect guide for POE noobies thank you so much take my sub
Incredible content, thanks! 🙏
great video. Bookmarking since I can use timestamps for refreshers!
Thanks for the video, very good introduction. One crucial thing that I think should have been mentioned is influenced items. I still have no freaking idea where to get them and how are their influenced stats different from the rest
Think he had in mind that its not really anything u find until endgame.
But a quick answer is that they have a different mod pool from normal item.
B-b-but Chris Wilson himself recommends Ruthless for new players... KEKW
Hi palsteron your the best poe content creator and I love watching your twitch!
bravo man when i first start playing i wish to have this video thanks for the hard work pals keep it up
I also got Black Notepad seeing you are using it. Thanks
Exceptionally well done. I will be encouraging players to use this guide as a primary reference.
CRAZY NICE WORK. Wow. If I was the new player and saw the video. I would be ready
Subbed. Thank you sir!
Giving you a like not because I watched it but know your content is good and with a huge influx of D4 players the help this content can offer is huge. Welcome Exiles :)
Awesome guide. Love this game
UA-cam must think im bad because auto play has picked this video for the 10th time😂
Solid work bro.
This is now my new Bible.
Thank you!
Man this is more complicated than trigonometry
I just watched the whole video eventho i am a poe veteran with 10k plus hours playtime. Am i a psycopath or just a fanboy?
Great video
