It frustrates me that YT barely does anything about these "kids" videos, and basically just lets them stay on their platform with no repercussions or actions taken against them.
Even more frustrating is restricting channels that make adult content because kids might watch it. Creators having to censor themselves for kids and advertisers is beyond stupid. UA-cam is pandering to children because they watch ads and click them, its ruining content and its gonna bite them in the ass at some point when advertisers realise they mostly advertise to children with no purchasing power.
Also doesnt help that elsa gate legit never went away, just changed from live action to animation, which can be pumped out more then the old stuff.

If UA-cam hasn't done anything yet I'd assume that they just can't or it'd be to expensive. I really hope this isn't the case.

I'm not gonna lie, I do worry about the kids who were raised with social media and UA-cam just everywhere. When I was a teen, there was pretty much just Myspace. Sure, it had its own dangers and tragedies that happened because of it, but these days, there's no way of getting away from it.
In the MySpace days (good gods I am old) we were weird for being online a lot. Now it's weird to not have social media. It's all the risks of those days for a larger target audience and then some.
I know that I never should've had the access I had; it's especially disturbing to see that become "the norm"
It can be done. You don’t buy a phone or device for the child or you very strictly control them. You walk in and actually look at your kids content.

Yes, but if it's adult cartoon, children shouldn't watch it by default. There are many cartoons made soley for adult audience and the people who share the content online should always make sure it's set on 18+ otherwise everyone can watch it, children with ipads outta control included.

it's still a word for smut, it's just a lot lesser used nowadays. I think once 'smut' became the common word for sexual content in fandom spaces, lemon just kinda phased out. I've still heard some fandom veterans use it occasionally tho

I'm "normal" (not to say that I'm better or anything), but that sht is just a mess. Back in the day having a few goofy edits on gaming vids was considered "overwhelmingly impulsive kid's content" and was hated by many (in my area), but now I don't think anyone older than 3 can withstand a minute of that and determine what the video is even about

Instagram has a problem. They need to crack down on there scam ads, i saw an ad that looked intriguing and decided to make sure that the site was legit…lone behold the site had only been up for abt a week.

I think the solution is simple but hard for adults to understand: CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS AND MONITOR WHAT THEY WATCH! My parents had the choice to put on Disney movies and educational content instead of brain rot. If you don't introduce the internet to them, you can throw on a good movie or show that will benefit them. And if they are on the internet, please monitor what they watch. Instead of handing them an iPad and shutting them up, hand them crayons or get them engaged in something that won't harm them.
Your original video is the exact reason the woman from the daily wire’s name stuck out to me and allowed me to immediately shut down my 11 year old daughter from watching her videos when I heard her content coming from my tv in the living room. I appreciate my children taking an interest in topics shaping their world but I sure as hell don’t want online figures being the ones to shape those views, ESPECIALLY when they have a monetary interest in doing so. So yeah, keep putting the word out and thank you for helping inform us. While I think the internet and even UA-cam sometimes has created some really interesting ways for kids to be engaged in educational material, it’s also incredibly hard to monitor every single thing put in front of their eyes.
Then maybe they shouldn't have access to the internet until they're like 16.
I remember trying to search UA-cam for Sakura wars OSTs (Game is a rather niche Sega IP) and at one point I got blasted with borderline adult content as the playlist thumbnail in the search results

I also watch comic youtubers. But they review mostly manga/manhwa and anime. Mostly horror and psychological. So definitely not for kids. So I can't understand how explicit comics got onto YT kids. It's worse than what I'm watching.

I met a couple teens recently that thought feminism was harmful because they'd been exposed to so much bad things about it on the internet. They believed all feminists hated men and wanted to live without men, which is not true at all. Sure, toxic feminists can be like that, but I was so sad to see that that's what's being taught on the internet and youtube. Kids will believe anything online and I know that because I did too.
The amount of content farms that use porn of kids characters is sick and alarming. I had to research kids content for a paper back in December and again last month to help another creator and within that time frame it has gotten so much worse. Although the content is usually tame compared to the thumbnails, some channels get weirdly sexual within the videos. Hell I even found a vore channel that uses kids characters
I saw a video last week about those Elsagate comic channels by "August the Duck" and I was shocked. I couldn't believe that these videos were monitised and then there are other creators having videos demonitised for nothing. UA-cam is a crazy beast.....
What scares me more is that these "artists" are running free in the real world
There should be an option in the report menu specifically for elsagate that brings the video to a special queue that gets reviewed by human asap

As someone who uses YT every day, and I have been since I was a teenager, I can tell you that I can see a push towards me (30) for conservative content, and that is even when I subscribe and like liberal content, and YT shorts have made it even worse
I think youtube has a vested interest in pushing conservative propaganda because conservatives tend to be wealthy.

We should go after every channel that’s part of UA-cam kids and report them in hopes of taking them down, maybe even take some drastic measures like finding any information of who could be running those channels and see if they have done some other shady stuff.

The comic situation has been a thing since I was a kid, I’m 18 now. When I used to watch innocent my little pony videos, NSFW comics would get suggested which led younger me down a rabbit hole. Quite unexpected that at age 10, I would learn what BDSM was from a my little pony comic on UA-cam.
also there's a bit of a content farm problem with a lot of channels making videos that seem like they're for kids and putting them in adult situations. As well as applying this kind of format to whatever might be popular for kids at the time or at least have an almost kid aesthetic but not being for kids. mainly due to being bright and colorful and having a lot of energy.
ex) Hazbin Hotel, The Amazing Digital Circus
...ummm, blanked out. I know there's way more, but those were the first two that came to my head that i know have been talked about. I've seen animation channels talk about these channels as a hydra conundrum, where you take out one and several more show up. And it'd be REALLY difficult to find the root source of all these channel perpetrators or whatever ring or indie actors that are doing this.
there probably might be some talk about parents parenting and not having kinds on here in the first place as well as them being smarter and learning to click away or something . since i'm assuming the alternative might be an overly restrictive look at all the content getting uploaded with some kind of a slow approval process that make the site way more unusable and people seeking out alternatives or something.

UA-cam kids isn't the main issue, ive seen 18+ websites have 6+ apps in app stores, just showing how big of an issue this is.
I remember when I was at my dad’s house my dad practically made me have UA-cam kids and watch on UA-cam kids despite me being old enough to watch regular UA-cam and I hated it now knowing everything about UA-cam kids now and I was still forced to watch UA-cam kids I would hate it even more❤

UA-cam kids is not even programmed properly we had to remove UA-cam kids from my nephews tablet cuz of how much horror content where being considered kids content like live action movies with ppl being murred by demons r rated crypypastsa even adult movie ads (lucky my nephew was not in the room at the time that ad played and it was on UA-cam kids for the Roku that time. So I was able to block that ad)

When you got channels like elsagate, those super cringe cussing Minecraft channels that act like kids when they’re grown adults and stupid stuff that sadly my brother watched which we took away was something called rainbow friends. All of that crap should be removed and permanently banned from UA-cam but knowing their algorithm they won’t do it since it makes them money

I don’t get why they didn’t just make UA-cam kids a platform separate from normal UA-cam that only trusted brands that were created for kids would post, like Peppa Pig or Bluey. The problem would be fixed immediately and it’s not like they can’t afford it, Google owns it.
Also since you brought up the comic dubs… I wonder if you could make a video on “Cougar Macdowell VA”. He’s one of those comicgate people that does it with trending characters kids like but no one even pays attention to it. The reason why I bring him up specifically is because he’s the current owner and VA of a VERY popular Friday night Funkin fan character and he narrates on a semi popular Reddit channel connected to EmKay. He’s even acknowledges his content in his Reddit narrations and he’s like “yeah I don’t care” and sometimes encourages the audience to check that slop out

The thing is, and not to lessen blame and certain responsibility on UA-cam by any means, a majority of children would not be exposed to that kind of content if parents just did their due diligence and *parented* instead of letting the internet be their babysitter.
That's a disturbing trend indeed. I'd argue that men skewing right has a lot to do with their families, because conservatives often force their children to be conservative. Either way, I hope they will start to realize they're being manipulated and that the blind hatred for women, queer people and people of color is completely irrational.
Elsagate is now using hazbin hotel for their content with those hazbin minecraft videos. I believe they're using adult shows so they dont get age restricted and have their comments turned off. Although, a lot of their views and interactions come from actual hazbin fans who are clowning on it.

Comicgate isn’t anything new; it’s only now that it’s begun to blow up. I recall when I was a kid I’d see a few of them on my sidebar though rarely clicked on them and luckily the suggestive nature of the thumbnails went over my head (probably for the best). I’ve seen it become a lot more prominent though with shows/media meant for older audiences like Amazing Digital Circus or -Poopy- Poppy Playtime.

I started being interested in this topic from a Minecraft youtuber who talked about a garbage yt kids content
youtube commentary/documentary channels when they see a kid with an ipad:
When I watch youtube shorts, even when it is of leftist creators, I will inevitably end up on an alt-right short asking something as dumb as "trans rights or gas prices". Yes, it is youtube's doing. Their algorithm will inevitably send people down the alt-right pipeline, even if the creators they watch on there are leftist or left leaning.
UA-cam also recommends leftist creators after watching someone right leaning. This is a good thing as helps prevent people being in an echo chamber.
Social media was a mistake - or at least many mistakes have been made in the way social media sites are run. I agree with most websites requiring users to be 13+, but that's clearly not enough. I'm not talking about children and preteens working their way around that (that are no more than mere suggestions by the way they're implemented), because everyone works their way around things that they shouldn't. No, what I'm talking about is a stricter vetting system for content aimed at kids. Whether it's not allowing unofficial channels to upload content without rigorous moderation, as someone else has suggested in the comment section, or putting a timer on screen time (for adults included, because I think we all need a reminder to limit our screen time, no matter the age [which is what I like about the feature on Android {at least Samsung devices} that delivers a weekly screen time report]), or something else, is a topic for debate, but definitely something needs to be done.
