I cancelled my pre order which was an upgrade to my X-M1 because it was flip not tilt screen. In my mind I need either an EVF or tilt screen for photography.
I currently use the original canon M50 for mainly for travel which is a little old now. I'm not interested in video. Do you think the M5 would be a suitable upgrade?
I’m a bit of a sucker for bokeh, to be honest. For example, there’s the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and the Viltrox 33mm f/1.4. Is the extra size and weight really worth the f/1.4 aperture for this camera?
@shockwav3715 i have the meike 33 f1.4 as well. it depends on what you’re using it for, but for me as an everyday camera, i prioritize the compact size over that extra half stop
Considering both zv e10 mark 2 and xm5 both coming for 900 dollar in my country which one you'll recommend? Or should I just go with og zv e10 for 560 dollar My usecase is mostly portrait photo & video or cinematic videography (also please suggest good prime lens I'm thinking meikie 55mm for fuji & 50mm oss for sony) Thanks alot
if you plan to upgrade cameras later, i think sony is a better buy personally since you can still use their lenses with other cameras (im biased since sony is my main camera brand of choice, so take that into account). that being said, i really like the film simulations on fuji, but if you plan on editing all your photos and videos, id probably choose sony then. check out the viltrox apsc lenses, they have a 56mm f1.7 which is super compact for a good price
@herokme thanks Tbh I probably won't upgrade maybe but I do wanna explore some client photography/videography side lol :( sadly that viltrox lens isn't available in my country But thanks alottttttt
The thing about the lenses is actually the opposite, Sony's higher end cameras are full frame and require different lenses, while everything except the GRX line of Fuji is APS-C, so you can start collecting your lenses for your future XT-5 or whatever right away, they will all work. They also have way more APS-C lenses than Sony, full frame is a different story.
Did you save the custom photo mode in manual? For instance, if you saved the C1 as a photomode in aperture, then when you start recording video it will still be in aperture mode, right?
all of my custom photo modes are saved in manual. if i start recording, its not even in aperture priority. i can’t control shutter speed, aperture, or iso at all. everything is in auto, and i can only adjust exposure compensation
@johannesbgonzalez mm yeah. i haven’t figured out a way to put that into full manual, if there even is a way, which is a huge bummer imo. i would love to be able to just hit record in a photo mode and do video with the exact same film simulation settings
Very accurate review. Do you know any cheap options for lenses with ois.I mean I don't expect them to be cheap but the cheapest from them. I just need to be shooting still street videos and to remove those micro jitters. Thanks!
Hey there -are you using the Kit lens 15-45mm when facing this issue? If so, you need to update the Lens Firmware as this is an issue that can happen. It is resolved in the latest lens firmware.
Hi.Nice video there. I'm also thinking of buying this one although I'm bit confused in between M5 , XT30 II and ZV II. My main priority is street photography where I can have my camera everytime with me and capture some moments or frames here and there. Dont want too much time to invest into edit raw photos. I do mobile photography for my hobby and now thinking of upgrading. Do you think M5 is a suitable option or any other suggestions? Love from India ❤️ Waiting for more stills from your M5.
I have the XT30ii which was my first "real" camera. Such a great camera for photography first workflow. I want to get the X-M5 for my studio video camera that shares my Fuji lenses that I already have. Keep in mind, it doesn't have a view finder and some extra dials that the XT30ii has. I think the X-M5 is a great video/vlog camera and a decent little photography camera. But if your main priority is photography or you want to learn photography and the dials and controls etc, id lean more towards the XT30ii. Just my experience and opinion..
Thanks for your video. And thx for your channel too. I am a new fujifilm xm5. I had an old nikon reflex some years ago but i sold it and now i am back in the photography for pleasure. Just a question. How do you set your personal filter? In the xm5 directly? Or you have to do it in a software and import your custom profile? Btw i love your photos and the vibes in them
appreciate all the kind words! in the first tab in the menus, near the end, there should be a setting labelled “edit custom settings”. you can assign your custom film simulations there to the c1-c4 profiles!
@herokme okay i mean it ; ) But how do you create custom film simulation? In a software of directly in the fuji xm5? I know it sounds noobie but i come back after years in photography and feel a little lost
@fearnol8873 when you click on the settings i mentioned above, that’s where you change all of it in the xm5. film simulations, highlights, shadows, sharpness, etc. it’s all done in camera
@@herokme thanks a lot. I have a 13 days travel in vietnam at the end of febtuary. I have 1month and a half to master the xm5. I am looking forward your next videos. Have a nice day
Top notch review
really appreciate that! thanks for the support! 🙏🏻

i’m in the same boat! ideally i’d want both 😂

i think travel + photos is awesome for this camera!
What lens did you use for the photos in this video?
mostly the ttartisan 27mm f2.8 and viltrox 35mm f1.7!
What do you think about viltrox 35mm f/1.7 with this camera?
that’s one of my favourite lenses for this camera!

@PiyushSharma-zu3rm sony also has a lot more third party lens choices, so it keeps things cheaper if you want to get more lenses later on!
@@herokme yess 💯

@johannesbgonzalez same as in, it’s stuck on full auto? or you’re able to get it into manual?
@herokme full auto and I can only change my exposure setting with the front wheel

a few of tamron’s lenses have VC (vibration compensation), which probably helps. other than that, nothing else comes to mind atm
I also have Fuji xm5 , have you faced the problem when you shooting videos , the camera will sudden stop and reset? So annoying
noo i haven’t had an issue like that thankfully. have other ppl had that issue? could be a defect with yours
