Bro u need the cleaner to get the factory oil off the surface of the rotor so your pads don’t just slide on the rotor.. it’s nothing about actually cleaning them it just getting the machine oil off 😂😂😂

The little bit of oil of brake dust transferring from the glove really doesn't matter compared to the grease they sit in when shipped to us. Trust your technicians 👉
I change my gloves if i used an anti-seize compound with them. But a little dust or dirt is fine. You just want to get the packing oil off the rotor. Them rotors will get dirtier after 15 minutes of driving anyway.
It doesn't even matter I'm done a couple thousand sets of rotors and never once clean them off. The first time you hit the brakes that burns off instantly
Most shops including mine will clean em off because the moment a customer smells that gross burning smell they come right back. Lets just skip that all together 😅@soulsnatcher9228

First thing first you clean new rotor with soap and water and you see dose rust dots and the hub needs to be cleaned with a small wire brush and put the one or three screws back on to hold the rotor in place there’s nothing wrong with doing this job right 😊
The oil put on the rotor to protect them from rusting will impregnate the brake pads, causing them to be less effective. Not a huge deal. Manufacturers put it on there for aesthetical reasons only, serves no purposeas the rotors will rust immediately after cleaning anyway. Stupid imo.@MrHanichak2
You could've done that when you take the rotor out of the plastic before putting it on the hub. Extra work for nothing. He could've been putting the wheel on instead of cleaning the rotor

No there wont.......... I've never cleaned the hub of grease, only the surface that makes contact with the pads. The grease isn't dense enough nor is there enough to cause an uneven surface when bolting the wheels back on
How about you clean that hub service before slapping that rotor on…hint…prevents runout if you clean all that rust build up and your customer doesn’t have to return 6,000 miles later saying there is a vibration when braking.

I use Mr Clean multi surface cleaner, the kind you can use on “multi surfaces!” that way you clean off bacteria too, duh!

Once new rotors are clean and in place, install the new brake pads as per the manufacturer’s instructions. 😁
Just remember, the brake pads go on the wheels, not on your sandwich!
