Omg, I thought my mom was the only one who made puto with pancake mix. She used Bisquick and that's what I grew up on. She also used anise seed for flavoring. I'm gonna try vanilla next time. Mini muffin pans are cute, but I prefer regular cupcake pans cuz they fit in my steamer and my big mouth better. 😋

I've seen 3 recipes for this so far and this is the one with the most instructions. The recipe I used is pretty much identical to yours except they tripled the batter, which allowed me to get fourteen 4 oz mason jars worth. I did it in the Instant Pot and 7 fit at a time, so that worked out great. None of the others said to grease the pans. I wish I saw yours first as I had to run a knife around the edge to get them to release. I am going to try your stovetop method next time. By the way, THESE ARE AWESOME and I can see why they are SO ADDICTIVE! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Hi Rudy! A traditional steamer would save you a lot of time since you can steam multiple trays at the same time. I have one, but I was too lazy to find it in our storage. LOL! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment.

+112758494242978710229 Hi Megan! This is a perfect little snack for little ones. Both my 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter love it.
The rail is still in the making. Honestly, I kinda stopped paying attention and I'm not even sure when it'll be done. We live on Maui so it doesn't really affect us.
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. Please let me know it turned out and how you liked it. Mahalo!

Would it work if I just used rice flour instead of pancake mix? I've watched a lot of videos where they use rice in a blender but I'm wondering if just buying rice flour and mixing it like you just did would work.
Thanks for sharing your recipe. I definitely need to try these :)

Hi there! I had a friend in elementary school whose mother would send her 2 of these everyday for lunch, or at least I think that’s what they were. they were sweet with a custard inside, or maybe she just liked to undercook them a bit. Is this what they probably were? Also they were very dense inside they didn’t not look like yours. Yours look more like a cake, hers we’re very dense, but the exact same colour 🙂
