Hi everyone!
The highly requested and long awaited how I make my cover pink acrylic powder is finally here!
To make my own brown and red acrylic powder I mix a tiny amount of brown iron oxide with several scoops of clear acrylic powder and blend it in a bag for several minutes until it's all blended. I do the same thing for the red acrylic powder. I don't make my own white acrylic powder because titanium dioxide is used to make it white and its hard to blend it in acrylic powder, so it's easier just to buy it.

I use Mia Secret Clear Acrylic Powder to make my cover pink powder because it's affordable and it is a medium set acrylic which allows some time to manipulate the acrylic when it's being applied.

I couldn't find a link to the exact strainer I used in this video because I honestly can't remember where I got it from but any ultra fine mesh strainer should work.

Great video. Very informative.
Your very talented 👩🎨
Is that red or pink powder because your saying red but it looks pink
+Alia Swift I used red #7 it's technically red but I only mix a small amount with clear acrylic so it appears lighter and it does look pink.
Dazzle Glam Nails I have a red neon pigment, regular red pigments and pink tone pigments would I be able to use those pigments ?
Yes you could. Just be sure to start out with a very tiny amount and add more as needed. Also test out your powder as you go to see what it needs more of
@@DazzleGlamNails Hi, in the video you say "red acrylic powder" but provide a link to red pigments. Are you using red acrylic also?
Very beautiful . 👍👍💖💖💖💖💖
Idk my undertones but I’m gonna try 😂
it's amazing 👏👏👏
Never thought to make my nude color thanks for the idea
Thank you!
Thanks...I got a few 16 oz jars of clear....an bunch of pigment powders and glitters... I want to make a pretty pixie pink with fine glitter... And a few unicorn chrome powders... I've made 73 colors of my own besides all the colors I've bought
Can you use it for doing arcrilyc nails and stick theme on my own nails
May I know what products you use
Amazing!!!
Todos están lindos💞💕
I have yellow and red and blue Lake pigments can I make brown from those ?
there's a video where you mentioned pink prismatic powder, is there a certain brand or it's this same one mixed with glitter?
Love the color... Would you sell ???
Out of curiosity, do you find there's a significant difference between rubbing it in a ziplock bag versus shaking thoroughly in a container?
+sugarspundt Definitely, blending the powder in the bag breaks up the pigment and reduces the chances of the acrylic applying with color streaks. I've bought colored acrylic and I've had to blend it in a bag because it was applying streaky.
My favorite color
Do you find that your method makes them opaque enough to use for ombres? I’ve tried to make my own but they always end up being sheer and don’t cover the white line when doing baby boomers like a real cover pink
With this cover pink I actually have to add a little bit of Clear so it isn’t as opaque when doing an ombré. You can fix the sheerness by adding some white acrylic to your powders.
Amazing
Can u use acric red powder ? And brown acrylic
How many tablespoons you did?? For the clear and color powder
My cover color is like a cappuccino (so more like a warm beige) but it’s kinda on the translucent side. Do I add white to make it more opaque and creamy looking ?
Sshhh..LetsTalkSmack yea white will make out opaque
Tamieka Morgan okay cool thank you!
Love the video, can you tell me where you got ur brush and the size. Tfs
+THE NAIL DIVA All info is in the description box!
Dazzle Glam Nails okay I clicked on the link, actually I clicked on every link and the one for the brush isn't there there is one for the nail tips twice.
+THE NAIL DIVA Thank you for letting me know, I've updated the link.
Hello, where can I get brown and red powder that you use for this video ? Thank you
I made the acrylic powder by mixing pigments with clear acrylic. The links are in the description box
Can you use a wine red color? I have that color and I algo have clear and nude colors but I need a pink
Jasmin Lopez you can use eyeshadow (or blush/bronzer) too
What is dark color that turns white
Do you use the Mia secret monomer to?
+Glitter MePink Yes
Wow
Where did u get the sieve from? I'm
having a hard time finding one currently
Are you add pink or red to the brown and clear?
Sooo basically its clear acrylic, red pigment, & brown pigment?? Possible white pigment also?
😍😍😍
What clear and white acrylic powder brand did you use
She used Mia secret
What size is the spoon
great video tfs :)
Judinka Nail Art i
What do i mixxx the acrylic powder with😧😧😧i really just dont get it ive watched so many videos
I add a tiny amount of brown oxide and a red dye to achieve this color. Both items can be bought online, look in the description box.
Cool video...do you make all your own colored acrylics? I see you buy your white because of the titanium dioxide. Have you ever gotten pigments from tkb trading? I've bought several from them and they do a sample size that's 6 grams. They do have some samples that are only 2.5 grams for the more expensive ones but almost all their samples are 1.50 with a few being $2.50. I've been toying with the idea of coloring my own but I can't decide if it's really any cheaper to do once I buy everything to do it. This was a great video and I wish I would have know this before I bought 3 different cover pinks trying to find the right color. Tfs
+Kelly Williams Thank you! I have tons of pigments and micas from TKBTrading left over from when I used to make my own makeup and now I use them for nails. In my opinion it is cheaper to make it yourself and if you're familiar with the color wheel you can make some really beautiful colors. I have about 40-50 colored acrylics that I made myself with the exception of a few Dash of Color acrylics and Glam and Glits acrylic.
I was looking to buy a cover pink but there are SO many to choose from and I was afraid it wouldn't look right with my light skin tone so I started making my own and it's all I'll ever use.
I agree on the cover pinks. I have 3-4 and don't really care for any of them. It's really hard to tell online what colors are what one because of differences
in settings and 2 because dry acrylic and the finished deal can vary quite a bit. Thanks for the info.....I'm gonna play with some of my pigments and see what I can come up with.
How much pink & Brown ?? White
Iv tried making it an it never turns out
Love bjs do brasil
You do know they have small glass 1oz jars in dollar tree right?
This is genius!!
Just tried this and let me tell you it's not easy 😪 mine keeps looking dark in color and I keep mixing and mixing and I'm already low on my white and clear powders 😪 I'll try a few more times but it's definitely not gonna look like yours 😞
Hahahaha
Please tell me you prepare and sell it!? 🙏🏽 for me it would be easier and i haven't tried it but already i know it wont look like yours!!! 🤦🏽♀️😅
+Jackie Cobas No, I just make it to use on myself.
Dazzle Glam Nails 😩☹️
Etsy has some great nude, cover pink, n cover beige acrylic powders
Could I use this same procedure for lip gloss using mica powder ?
what if you have square nail beds
You're saying red but is that not pink?
Thank you for not gate keeping!
When she says acrylic powder for red and brown she means pigment red lake pigment and brown pigment
But that did not look like a red that you through in there, it looked more like pink.
That is not red pigment though. It's pink!
Why are you speed talking. I have no idea what u just said.
Can't under Stand what your saying are u saying red acrylic powder? Ur almost mumbling your words together but it's confusing me because it's pink.
