Yes you could. Just be sure to start out with a very tiny amount and add more as needed. Also test out your powder as you go to see what it needs more of
Thank you for sharing - I never thought about using a strainer for my mixes THANK YOU! p.s. I will try blending with a bag next go round. I normally add a little glimmer in my cover as well
Thanks...I got a few 16 oz jars of clear....an bunch of pigment powders and glitters... I want to make a pretty pixie pink with fine glitter... And a few unicorn chrome powders... I've made 73 colors of my own besides all the colors I've bought
+sugarspundt Definitely, blending the powder in the bag breaks up the pigment and reduces the chances of the acrylic applying with color streaks. I've bought colored acrylic and I've had to blend it in a bag because it was applying streaky.
Thank u for this vid I can only aford cheap acrylic powder of ebay ie about £3 for 120ml and I have loads small couler powder and I cart ever fined cover pick that's cheap now I can mix my own thank you hun this been great help x
Do you find that your method makes them opaque enough to use for ombres? I’ve tried to make my own but they always end up being sheer and don’t cover the white line when doing baby boomers like a real cover pink
With this cover pink I actually have to add a little bit of Clear so it isn’t as opaque when doing an ombré. You can fix the sheerness by adding some white acrylic to your powders.
My cover color is like a cappuccino (so more like a warm beige) but it’s kinda on the translucent side. Do I add white to make it more opaque and creamy looking ?
Dazzle Glam Nails okay I clicked on the link, actually I clicked on every link and the one for the brush isn't there there is one for the nail tips twice.
Cool video...do you make all your own colored acrylics? I see you buy your white because of the titanium dioxide. Have you ever gotten pigments from tkb trading? I've bought several from them and they do a sample size that's 6 grams. They do have some samples that are only 2.5 grams for the more expensive ones but almost all their samples are 1.50 with a few being $2.50. I've been toying with the idea of coloring my own but I can't decide if it's really any cheaper to do once I buy everything to do it. This was a great video and I wish I would have know this before I bought 3 different cover pinks trying to find the right color. Tfs
+Kelly Williams Thank you! I have tons of pigments and micas from TKBTrading left over from when I used to make my own makeup and now I use them for nails. In my opinion it is cheaper to make it yourself and if you're familiar with the color wheel you can make some really beautiful colors. I have about 40-50 colored acrylics that I made myself with the exception of a few Dash of Color acrylics and Glam and Glits acrylic. I was looking to buy a cover pink but there are SO many to choose from and I was afraid it wouldn't look right with my light skin tone so I started making my own and it's all I'll ever use.
I agree on the cover pinks. I have 3-4 and don't really care for any of them. It's really hard to tell online what colors are what one because of differences in settings and 2 because dry acrylic and the finished deal can vary quite a bit. Thanks for the info.....I'm gonna play with some of my pigments and see what I can come up with.
Just tried this and let me tell you it's not easy 😪 mine keeps looking dark in color and I keep mixing and mixing and I'm already low on my white and clear powders 😪 I'll try a few more times but it's definitely not gonna look like yours 😞
This is a beautiful color . I love it and that container is so pretty too . Yes , beautiful for sitting on top of your desk .
+. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed Thank you!
Is that red or pink powder because your saying red but it looks pink
+Alia Swift I used red #7 it's technically red but I only mix a small amount with clear acrylic so it appears lighter and it does look pink.
Dazzle Glam Nails I have a red neon pigment, regular red pigments and pink tone pigments would I be able to use those pigments ?
Yes you could. Just be sure to start out with a very tiny amount and add more as needed. Also test out your powder as you go to see what it needs more of
@@DazzleGlamNails Hi, in the video you say "red acrylic powder" but provide a link to red pigments. Are you using red acrylic also?

Out of curiosity, do you find there's a significant difference between rubbing it in a ziplock bag versus shaking thoroughly in a container?
+sugarspundt Definitely, blending the powder in the bag breaks up the pigment and reduces the chances of the acrylic applying with color streaks. I've bought colored acrylic and I've had to blend it in a bag because it was applying streaky.
