This is cool! Interestingly enough i did this 2 days ago in a mini mason jar with the Young Nails cover pink, French and clear. I stirred with a brush handle lol. I just wanted a hint more of a concentrated "universal" color to offer clients and myself. I love it. It makes the client feel they are getting something a bit extra complimentary with the service, in my experience.
I love this custom blending the colors are absolutely stunning!!! I learned this from you years ago and I must say this is one reason I stand alone in my town. I am the only one who offers custom color blends and sculptured nails in town which gives me a clientele that always returns and is always happy to pay more then just your basic set other salons offer. I love watching you do your thing Greg, you are the master of your craft!!!! Thanks for the great tutorial, I’m gonna start using the ziplocks for my custom colors instead of the jars😊 Hoping y’all have a good day!!!
Deb Nazario It stands for "autonomous sensory meridian response." It basically just means getting a relaxing feeling by watching, doing, or listening to something. There's apparently a whole section of UA-cam dedicated to relaxing ASMR videos. Many of them are just mundane things, like watching someone wash someone else's hair. Watching Greg do nails in silence just kind of reminded me of that. Very relaxing ☺
Love it! I'm a big fan of mixing colours myself. Being an English Rose (we're talking vampiric levels of paleness) that beautiful pink you created is just the kind of shade that looks great on me. 🌹☺️
I have just subscribed to your channel, and I will watch as much videos as possible on tips and tricks to be a professional nail technician . I have my licence by the way but nail school dont teaches every detail we should know about acrylic application. So extra lessons goes very along .
Will try different colours mixing white acrylic with colours from some eyeshadow I've got lol.😆😆did the same with clear gel and coloured glitters, saves you lots of money lol.😆😆
Btw You can get custom mixes by using 1 part glitter and 3 parts powder clear if using glitters. As long as u stick to 1 part glitter to 3 parts clear acrylic. u can make any colors using any powders just by mixing the right amounts 1 to 3 ratio. U can make the most amazing holographic acrylics using all types of custom acrylic powders. The possibilities are endless. Also can do it w gel and glitters or pigments etc.He just added 50% of each of these products bc its for pink powders. Hope tht helps beginners. With white just know it will be more opaque or cover pink if u add it to pink. I lov the 2nd mix and will be creating it to use on clients for a more natural pink I get to use my frosted pink yah.
These blends were just examples with Young Nails products. He wanted to demonstrate the best way for creating large quantities of custom mixes-provided one knows the ratio (here it is 1:1,) to achieve their desired results. He added 100% of each jar, making a 50/50 mixture of acrylic polymer powder. There is no rule or guideline (besides preference to not mix different brand lines) when mixing acrylic polymers for custom powder blends. To determine ratio, just use a spoon to keep track of how much of each powder is added, until you have your perfect blend. It's usually best to start with more of the sheer powder and gradually add the more opaque powder until desired coverage; or start with the lightest-colored powder, gradually adding a darker powder. BUT when it comes to creating custom acrylic mixes with polymer powders and additives (glitter, pigment, etc.,) do as +Melinda Christie explains above. The custom mix needs enough acrylic polymer to allow for a structurally sound L&P nail. (I decided to reply since i referenced your comment)
im looking for a very deep transparrent pink that i can use for my cuticle area over a cover pink. It makes the nail bed look really healthy and i think its nice to have the cuticle area look a little bit transparrrent as it continues to look good as it grows out. I can do it with your gels but not with the acrylic.
Lauren Moses i agree it looks awesome if it is a bit transparent.... You can mix it also just take much more clear powder and only say 10 od 15 percent nude or cover powder.... Whichever you are using for nail plate extension :) with the Magnetic brand we use a camouflage pink and a blush pink powder and it looks awesome :)
Clear acrylic & pigment drops in your monomer? (You can DIY pigment drops by stirring a few drops of gel polish into your monomer) Other companies do make transparent intense pink acrylic powder but of course its up to you whether you want to go elsewhere. Good luck finding/making what you're after. x
I have pigment drops. It's a bit too time consuming for what I'm trying to achieve I feel, but it is a good idea. I'm not sure if pigment drops can be used on the natural nail at all. it's gonna be pretty close to it and if it soaks into the nail near the cuticle it's gonna be a long time to grow out
Are you sure you didn't accidently purchase core pink? Cover pink should be opaque, but either way, you can contact our customer service team and they can help you. Email: info@youngnails.com

Tina Yeager I don’t have a student license...how about a picture of my contract? That’s what I showed CosmoProf and saloncentric to gain membership. Thank you
Well actually I was told that mine is a temporary until I pass State Boards but it will always be the same number. I think they will possibly take your contract that’s what I used in several places until my license came in. Call and ask they’re very helpful. Good luck!! 👍🏻

Those are both very beautiful colors. And I love how they can be worn by themselves with just a top coat. Love them.
There's something very ASMR-ish about watching Greg sculpt without talking and no background music.
I agree!
Whats ASMR-ish mean please

Anais Wolff except the random quick exhales and breathing when he formed the 1st nail lol

it makes me wonder if slickpour pink can be used to add the extra intensity that i need. I cant get the colour i want with the acrylic available
Have you tried adding pigment powder to achieve the desired color

Can we do this as well with your Synergy Gel Line?
Wouldn't gels be mixed on a tile, so you can ensure even dispersement of colors
Perfect video for me, been making up different acrylic powders for different colour results. #traceyneedsavaca

It’s a real bummer that I cannot buy your products till I get my license 😢😢😢
Kristine Baker me too...i hate it
Are you a student? If so you can purchase them. You just set up an account and e-mail a copy of your student license to Ray.
Tina Yeager I don’t have a student license...how about a picture of my contract? That’s what I showed CosmoProf and saloncentric to gain membership. Thank you
Katherine Gurovsky Your state doesn’t issue a student license? I would double check that just in case! Best of luck!
Well actually I was told that mine is a temporary until I pass State Boards but it will always be the same number. I think they will possibly take your contract that’s what I used in several places until my license came in. Call and ask they’re very helpful. Good luck!! 👍🏻
