Biffa found you can move the outside node further in to stop the problem. Also allows the passenger crowds to board the trains.
Don't forget to decorate the orginal college to level 5.
Chicago resident here, don’t mean to be that guy but it’s Lake Shore Drive. I just figured you would want to know. You have the most masterful builds dude. Always taking the time to really check your angles in time lapses, always makes me smile as it reminds me of an artist closing one eye and sticking his thumb out to check his work.
Also Chicago Resident, if you are a city planner DO NOT BUILD A HIGHWAY ON THE LAKEFRONT!!!
It's actually nice to see some vanilla CS1 spices while checking out CS2 get updated. Orchid Bay is always a good vibe to riff off of.
The monorail's transition onto the road might look less harsh if you move it back to where the 4-lane road transitions to the smaller industrial road.
Loving that this City keeps expanding - I do love CS1.

Keep Mondays for CS1! This campus area was a great idea for over there! The Brooklyn buildings really add a different feel to the build, keep up that amazing work! Can't wait to see what you build next.
This is still my favourite series - of both Cities 1 and 2! Love the monorail - it's a mode that makes sense with the long line and all the bike routes and roads it has to cross.
Once Orchid Bay is finished, I'd love to see a Cities 1 massive transit hub focused build! Maybe even pick up some funicular railways from the workshop. A very green map would be lovely. Perhaps having the goal of running all the possible transit modes on one map with all of them running into hubs (including a random blimp line with a story behind why it exists).
There's so much more detail with Cities 1.
(Though I've yet to see a wheelchair user as a cim.)

Great episode sir! A man after my own heart! As a person who lives near Chicago the build came out great! Most people still call dusable lake shore drive either lsd or the drive which is one of the most beautiful scenery for me!!!

Love those long views with streets and monorails etc!! It's just so cool!! I cannot think of a name for the uni since I saw Strawberry. Now I have the Beatles on my mind with Strawberry Fields 😂 Not so sure that's what you are looking for. Great build again. I surely hope you do not give up CS1 for a long time. It's just got so many things you can use (like props), that make all the difference in the world. I'm sure CS2 will have it eventually but I enjoy watching you decorate with them!!🤩

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, that you're using as a guide, is near the University of Chicago. Chicago is also known as Chi-town. Not sure if you're into anagrams, but the new university could be University of Chi-Borday, or something like that.
I haven't gotten CS2 yet. I'm not sure my laptop can handle it, and I don't want to get aucked in to the buying frenzy as DLC come out, so I'm really really glad CS1 content is continuing.

It might be cool, once you start running out of space, is doing a video or two of meaningful densification in some areas of the map, or adding simple suburban developments or parks. Like I can definitely see just some windy suburban streets coming off the road you put over the highway in the timelapse! Maybe it is something better for a stream, but it would be cool to see.

A little critique as a Chicagoans. The highway next to the lake is a big blight all the way up and down. You're def taking the perspective of the southern portion particularly Hyde Park which is cool. But a metro in place of the highway would be very very cool!

That baseball park peninsula is great! Can’t remember if you’ve used the Central Park unique but that would look amazing with this campus! Also would love to see the old railway line alignment replaced with something like a bike path/trail to the middle of nowhere

I like Science Town as the name. If it fits it sits! Also another commentator called it PPU (Purple People University) which is great, and amusing to hear the Scottish foreign exchange students saying it.

Great build, pleased you're continuing Orchid Bay. Could I suggest Lotus Institute as a name?
At least one thing you can do to control intercity train traffic; with access to all 81 tiles, what I do is turn the "accept intercity trains function" *OFF* for *all my stations*, and you can draw in your own lines connecting to the edge of the map. This allows you to have one intercity train line that connects one outside connection to one or two hubs in the center of your city, then run out to a *different* outside connection, and then run back the same way, and it allows you to control exactly how many (passenger) intercity trains are running to each of your connections--if a lot of those intercity trains are running empty, cutting that number of intercity trains that are running is extremely helpful. And depending on which hubs/how many stops you have them make, the intercity trains can also take some strain off your other trains, too.
Trains are screwed, nuclear power plant is flooding ! Oh well, I’m here to build a bus line and a bus line I shall build 😂

Chicago is a beautiful city, especially the lakefront.
It also has the best Tavern style pizza and Italian beef sandwiches.
Deep dish pizza is ok but tavern style is so much better.
The new part of town the monorail runs into has to be called North Haverbrook or Ogdenville, you know, from that episode of the Simpsons.

The baseball field with the path is very close to another area along lake shore drive. It’s a ball field, two tennis courts with a golf small course of all things. Really awesome and though you don’t have a proper golf course, maybe the driving range could fit in? Google earth would explain it better then I could. Lol.

I am actually studying at a the "Franckesche Stiftungen". A over 300 year old place to teach and study about teaching itself. Translated it would be something like "Francke Institute". It has so much history that you could call it a living museum because we still use it for its original purpose. How about the name "Francke Institute of Education"?
Let's be honest-monorail junctions don't make a lot of sense, do they? They're more like roller coasters than trains
With the trains you may have to build a lot of 1 way tracks for the area near the university. Imperatur did this with his train networks. I do it when I have freight and passengers on the main in and out of the train lines. Made a big difference.

Another great video Egg! My only comment would be to move the monorail tie-in down to where the road segment transitions to the median road. It just looks odd that the road transitions and the rail doesn't come in till two segments later.

If we've already opened up 81 tiles I think it's more than fair to add in mods to help keep this city going (to create more outside connections, etc.)

There is simply too much cargo traffic to outside connections. I deleted the trainwarehouse and cargo train station at Sharon's Factory and added a train to cargoship terminal nearby.
