I’ve been following Spencer about 3 years now, and his last video broke my heart. I wish him all the best, I don’t know him personally, but he seems like a generally good human being. I hate seeing people I normally enjoy watching or listening too, go through tough times. As you said, it’s real and makes me respect him, and you for acknowledging it so much more. Thanks.

Car culture and youtube car culture is a bit toxic. Gotta get a new car every other month, the big channels is now millions of dollar cars that you get wrap and some other silly crap then on to the next one. Like you said, they are just cars, they should not bring people depression and anxiety but I guess they do. I think probably even more so when you are using them to make a living, when money is involved thats when the bad shit happens. No idea what happened to Spencer Berke but there are always 2 sides to the story and we are only seeing it from his perspective.

In the book “Wild at Heart” by John Eldredge, he was talking to a very successful friend who is smart, articulate, handsome, athletic, has a beautiful wife, has a great job, brand new truck, and a big house, but his friend told him “The truth is, John, I feel like I’m bluffing my way through life. And that someday soon I’ll be exposed as an imposter”. This is coming from the guy we think has it all figured it out. However, he secretly thinks of himself as a fake. Like you said Zay, in our world, materialistic things are idolized and it brings forth our false self.
A few pages later John says, “ No matter how much you make, no matter how far you go in life, that will never heal your wound or tell you who you are”. We all fall in the trap everyday but praying for our wounds to be discovered and surrendering that to God will hopefully help our perspective. I really hope Spencer can keep recovering!
