I'm not a fan, but you have to admire the Stones for their hard work all these years - especially Mick! Where does he get that energy??

HOLY SHIT! You gotta be impressed with this guy. The years of hard drugs have shown on this dude yet he's still sharp as fuck.
Mick took plenty of coke at different times but only dabbled in other drugs & has always been lightweight drinker !!

@Norlick he's pretty brilliant, actually. So the drugs did not affect his brain that much. In fact he was a student at the London School of Economics and he is as good a businessman as he is a musician. Plus he was never really a big druggie (true.....)
Jagger is NOT, by his own admission, a good "businessman" !!
But he knows how to get great advice!

I don't think Mick was as into drugs as Keith was. Mick took cocaine usually to get him fired up before going on stage, but I dont think Mick took anything else. Mick's drug period was quite brief I think - the late 1960's and some of the 1970's. Keith took everything you can think of. I read an interview with Keith some years ago where he said: "I'm a laboratory". lol.
Mick took loads of coke in the 70's & 80's !!
Only dabbled in grass & acid in the 60's
Like Keith he only got hold of the good stuff, not cut with god knows what!!🤢🤮😱

@Norlick ahhh dude he is getting old. Mick Jaggar is in excellent shape but you have to respect the guy for not doing the face lift thing. He is 67 so he will have some wrinkles. He was never a heavy drug user.

the stones are one of my favorite bands but mick as a lyricist i don't highly regard him
+Rocky Elmore I totally agree with Ayye Lmao. Play With Fire (age 21) Paint it Black, Under My Thumb, Mother's Little Helper (penned when he was just 22). A short time later, Sympathy for the Devil. Since then, numerous songs with excellent lyrics; poignant, cheeky, clever, and (albeit rarely) political (Undercover, and Too Much Blood, with Mick's absurd on-the-spot rap). All this from a guy who was, with Keith, sort of thrust into the job of songwriting, as their days as a blues cover band came to an end. Nothing short of brilliant, in my estimation. When you add that to the (appropriate) title "Best Frontman in Rock and Roll", you have an artist who is in a league all his own.

@@Methilde You're right, Joelle. I think the appeal of the Stones isn't really lyricism, which is a shame, because Mick Is a great writer. One who IS known for lyrics, and rightfully so, is Roger Waters.
Jagger is master song & lyric writer & has always been excited by trying different ways of creating!!
Keith by contrast is a bit of an 'old stick in the mud' about the process! The perfect combination!! 😄

Mick was never a big druggie, more a dabbler. He's too much of a control freak even though his cadaverous looks say otherwise. Mind you, Ronnie looks the same and he's caned it big time... still does.
His first addiction is music and being on a stage.
