- Happy birthday Mick Jagger, 80 years old today!
On 31 July 1967, ITN's Michael Nicholson sat down for an interview with Mick, who had just been released from prison after a month behind bars along with bandmate Keith Richards on drugs charges. Nicholson asked Jagger whether he felt any kind of responsibility as a pop star and public figure for the influence he had on his fans. Jagger questioned the extent to which people could be influenced by public figures, before discussing his own approach to managing his fame, as well as the place of drugs in society.

Thoughtful, considered responses by an intelligent composed young man. This interview and Mick Jagger’s answers hold up well over these 50+ years.
Given his age at the time and the fact that the life of a rockstar rather feeds narcisism, that were astonishingly thoughtful answers. I like how he gave the answer an experienced politician would've given to the loaded question: 'Do you condone drug use then?'. That journalist only wanted a headline!
the matter with Mick, you have to look at the video twice, one for his quite smart intelligence and maturity and another for his quite incredible charm :)
Happy bday Micky.....cheers to u 🍾
