Anyone looking to fix P0471, P0101, P2262, the exhaust pressure sensor can be the reason for all of these faults. I started with P0101- MAF sensor readings out of range. After spending £280 on an OEM part from Mazda, still had the same issues. MPG was poor, turbo boost was poor and acceleration was half what I expected. This £80 fix saved me ££££ in garage fees and as a complete car novice, I was able to follow along with this video and solve the issues. Thanks ever so much.
Brilliant and saved me £££s. Had my 2015 Deisel 2.2 Mazda since new! and was getting recurring faults DSC, TPMS, SCBS and Parking brake faults with a loss of Turbo when decelerating by dropping a gear rather than brakes (eg. down hill). All cleared after an engine restart. This vedio inparticular the trick at 6:40 mins in, of shortening the pipe by cutting, as access to the bottom half is restricted, has saved me £££s in garage testing and fitting costs. I am NOT a mechanic but still after seeing this video it took me less that 15 minutes. It's like driving a new car. THANK YOU so much.
Thank you for this detailed video, it worked really fine and my engine is running again. I had the same fault code (P0472) with the engine check light, SCBS & ESP. The engine has 112.000km run and is from 2013 (Mazda 6 GJ 2.2 Skyactive Diesel 175 hp). After installing the new sensor (SHY618W00; € 90,- from Mazda-Austria) everything was fine, the engine worked again properly and all fault codes were gone. But to be 100% sure that there is everything ok, we decided also to check the EGR. After disassembling the EGR we saw, that the EGR-valve was almost full with carbon and that it was close to get stuck. We went on and also checked the intake manifold that was also full of carbon, but not as bad as the EGR-valve. After cleaning everything and assembling it together again I can only say that the engine is running far better now and it got it's old strength again. So I would highly recommend if you feel some power loss of the engine, to check the EGR & the intake manifold.
That is a great shout. I have the exact same tourer as you. I cleaned the intake and egr myself. This sensor has plagued me for a year now. Just buying the upgraded part for £70 and installing it, it has cleared my scbs and other annoying codes. My mechanic wanted to throw parts at the car and was offended when I suggested sensors first. I will never have DPF issues as my dpf has been deleted and remapped. I am not going through the nightmare of dpf cleaning (that only last a few thousands miles) or paying £500 to replace it. I fully expect to get 250 thousand miles out of my car and have already purchased a 2020 mazda 6 petrol that is parked up for the replacement as I will never EVER go diesel engine again in a car that is post 2007.
Cheers for this. After 11 years owning my 6 tourer GJ I can finally say it is driveable and not just stunning looking. Having suffered the penny washer fault in the turbo and replacing it and all the dpf nonsense (finally deleting and remapping,) this sensor was the last updated piece needing done to stop the silly SCBS and engine light warnings that were keeping my engine in limp mode. You are a Legend for showing a start to finish. Now to forums to send the hundred thousand other owners your way and keep them from letting mechanics throw parts at their cars.
Well done mate you just saved me a stealership charge of over $1000 Australian $$ . I disconnected the battery and this got rid of all the error codes aswell
You are amaing, you fixed that sensor without any instructions. I am from UK wales, and just bought the same sensor today. Seems like I had an after market one fixed from previous owner. I am getting all those lights but different error codes, mainly turbo underboost, which seems can be caused by a faulty Exhaust pressure sensor. Will try to fix today and see how it goes.
Thanks for the video! Do you know the reason why so many faults are shown when this sensor fails? What is the connection between an exhaust pressure sensor and SCBS, i-stop etc.?
You're supposed to use the piece of hose that came with that upgrade kit as it is a heavy duty hose that won't blow out eventually like happen to my exhaust pressure sensor when it failed on my cx5. I hope this helps.
Thank you for making this video. It’s demystified the process of changing sensors. May l ask which diagnostic tool are you using for the fault detection?
Check your maf/map sensor and vacuum pump data if theyre giving bad data it can confuse any modules pulling data from the ecm/pcm and lead to scbs fault.

Excellent vid mate, just about to do the job on my lad's Mazda 6. It's a bit of an electronic sensor nightmare! I am well impressed with your fault code reader app thingy - Where did you get that, and how does it work?
@@thefix9823Hi. When You replace any of the other sensors for this car model/make like MAS or MAP - do you have to do something in order for the ecu to learn that new sensor to work with the engine or just reset DTC on a working engine?

Finally! Someone who actually shows you how to do the whole fix. Thank you

Thanks for showing the code for the exhaust pressure sensor. You re my hero!!!!!!! God bless you!

Very useful mate thanks. Clear instructions

exactly what i needed, thanks so much
Great to hear!
Apart from the codes was there anything visibly to be seen from exhaust? Did it emit smoke?
no smoke to me

I would definitely change the small ruber hose ( instead of cut it off) and clean steel pipe where is connected.

try calling the nearest Mazda dealership, they know the problem with this sensor and they must probably have some available in store.
