    so it is time to give my flowers, bro you are a life saver and changer! once upon a time I was just buying fish for decoration, had my 55 gallon going with no knowledge of anything just tap water and a fluval, ever since finding your channel I have become obsessed with my 55 gallon and my column tank 15 gallons. you helped save my Parrot fist "pop" I had for 3 years and have given me the confidence to start adding more fish to the 55 gallon. you are truly the GOAT, now if I can convince my wife to let me get a 125 I will be in heaven. in short thank you bro, and keep pushing! and to all that's watching get your merch support the Youngman so we can all enjoy this very expensive hobby! lol.

    I own a 115 gallon Aquavim tank and it is over-stocked w/ Peacocks and Happs like the ones you see in this video. I bought all of them from Snake River Cichlids. I cannot recommend SRC enough. My fish have been growing and living good lives for over a year w/o any issues. In the year that I purchased my fish from SRC, I only lost two during delivery and SRC was quick to resolve. I am comfortable not quarantining my fish from SRC because they use quality water and only sell quality fish. Once again, you can’t go wrong with Snake River Cichlids!

    Hes baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! Good job bro. I would say if you can do it move the two guys that need to gain weight in your quarantine tank and target feed. I currently have a few that im doing that with myself still even though their severe sunken belly is gone. I believe this way the fish that needs to gain the weight doesn't have to compete with 50 big fish in the tank and should be able to eat enough to put that weight back on. Keep the African content coming!

    • @KaveManAquatics
      @KaveManAquatics  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for the tip bro! During the medicated feeding they got plenty to eat. I just think they needed a longer treatment period. I was happy to see them eating to vigorously during the treatment. So I know it improved their health. Hopefully 1 more round should do it 💪🤞

    I thought how to acclimate fish was to take the water they came in and put them in a bucket/tank and pour some of your tank water in that bucket every 15 min. After a few times, take just the fish and put in your tank.

    • @KaveManAquatics
      @KaveManAquatics  7 місяців тому

      When fish get delivered to you they're in a sealed bag. The moment you open that bag and oxygen gets inside it affects the toxicity of the ammonia in that water. Do not use that bag water for any reason after you open the bag. If you must, then add a drop of Seachem Prime to detoxify the ammonia. Drip acclimation isnt necessary for most fish. If your PH is different from the bag water source, adding water to the bag water takes days for that PH to adjust.

    I have 2 yellow labs and two mbuna’s in my tank for 2 months. Then I put in a convict and a fire belly. Both got chased around but the convict would fight back some while the fire belly ran and hid. Next day fire belly was dead and convict was still great. Keep just those 5 fish in tank for another month and last week I got a pleco and an Oscar. They pecked at pleco tail some and he went into hiding and they were pecking at Oscar even convict was going mouth to mouth fighting while the African’s. Were nipping tail and fins. So I put Oscar in QT floating in main tank for a week. Put him back in 2 days ago and everything was great. Keep going to tank for 20-30 mins every few hours to watch and all getting along. Woke up yesterday morning and Oscar was severely but all find bad and the whole top of fish scales were gone! The Oscar would swim right over to mbuna and then get bit but wouldn’t swim away every time even when I first put him back in. I went to get him out tank yesterday and all fish were chasing him down and biting him. Even the pleco was killed with his tail nipped pretty bad! Why is this keep happening every time I try to add a new fish even after QT for a week. All fish are the same size!

    Male African cichlid only tanks are like a bubble tank with a single poor goldfish. Not natural !!!!

      @@KaveManAquatics Hey Bro, there are many ways to make an african cichlid tank. You can make a natural environment with two or three couples of fish and enjoy looking for their breeding behaviour and baby care. Alternatively, you can make a male only tank full of colourful fish, but definitely, not natural !!!

      @@constantinyanicostas4664 It’s very apparent you’ve never kept African Cichlids. You cannot keep only 2 or 3 African Cichlids. If you want to learn about them just ask, instead of pretending you know what you’re talking about.

      @@KaveManAquatics Read well before replying, I said 2 or 3 couples (meaning a male and a female) of african cichlids for a 200 gallons tank, not three single poor males! I've kept and bred many different fish species for over 40 years, including Malawi and Tanganika cichlids. Perhaps, you like overcrowded tanks, but personnally I prefere a tank in which fish display their natural behaviour (breeding, defending a territory, raising babies, etc.).
