Welcome back! Missed your posts, I know things been more than a bit tough for everyone involved with the water at Baltimore. Moving fast up the list of most hated boaters are the high end wake boats that intentionally make huge wakes for purely entertainment purposes. BIG problem in Great Lakes area with smaller lakes and these rich buffoons ripping around smaller lakes destroying the environment (shorelines and lake bottoms). I am not allowed to fish as I have not taken on the required "prerequisits": smoking and drinking. 😳
great short segment. now we know the rest of the story about blow boaters and power boaters. used to have to contend with both down here near Chesapeake beach and breezy point. I enjoy your posts. i saw one with Luke and one with Wayne. you're always a hoot. thanks for sharing.
You should come up to Boston Harbor ( aka the HaaaBaaah ) - lots of stink pots and blow boaters, plus fishermen and lobstermen ( aka Lobstaaaah ) - but we all do get along. Love the commentary in the videos along with the satire. I have taken many power boaters sailing ( even diving ) before years back on my Island Packet 350 ( love a good 20kn breeze ) and they had some respect once we were done with all the traffic coming through the harbor islands and around Hull Gut ( aka The Gut ) and back at the dock from that 3 hour tour ( but with nice weather ). I now identify as a power boater and keep the respect for friends who sail. Keep the Episodes coming. Cheers!
Listen...not for nothin Captain Boomie I gotta tell ya I think your da bomb! ( yes I'm a native NYer living in Florida ) Your videos are delivered with such an irreverent, funny and amazingly brilliant and informative amount of information. I watch, take notes and laugh MAO and then say WTF did she say about how to do that, that and that?? ( rewind, rewind) OMG I love the delivery and tempo you bring to your videos. I've been in the Navy and the Merchants in my lifetime and love blue water ( North Atlantic crossing in February from Glasgow to S. Carolina. OH MY!) I gotta say with all your experience over the years doing these videos has got to be a lot of fun for you at this point. So that being said you need to keep those videos coming and let us all know when your at a boat show in Florida as we would love to come and buy say hello and buy you and yours a drink. "Fair winds and following seas M lady"
This made my floating day!!!! Thank you so much, it is fun, but it's also weird. I stare at my editing software for a lot of hours... it's way harder than running boats, but I'm glad it's providing value!!
Many (ok, some) powerboaters are ok and responsible boat operators. Mostly the trawler guys. But EVERY large sportfishing boat operator appears to be a complete jerk. My question is “do you have to be an asshole to buy or large sportfishing boat or does your broker give you lessons?” 😂
Hey Captain love your style. Here's a question no one has answered pertaining to the Dali 'Incident' or as I call it 'cover up': Who was the 'Pilot' and what is his/her's story? What say you?
Idk about adopting a power boater but I love the optimism that we can end this war 😂 There's the other category of short draft sailboats being assholes to deep draft ones while both are under motor but 🙄 I guess we can't have nice things.
Though we can't always ply nice in the sand box, lets try on the water. Being experienced in both, power boaters have much more manuverability and should give way to sailed power craft. Lose the ego, and be safe. Beers at the dock on me.😂
My first time sailing off of Annapolis with powerboaters passing me at full throttle made me understand why sailboaters hate them. But by and large, It seems like maybe 10% of them were acting like a-holes. Is it the credit card captains that give powerboaters the bad reputation? You should hit up Luke McFaddin to get the watermans perspective. When he pulls up a smashed pot from somebody hitting it in shallow water, you can see the pain in his face.
He's a surprisingly good sport chatting with us pleasure boaters... but you should hear the smack talk those crabbers give out in the water. It's spicy!

I'm a sportsfisher/boater in Australia, we get along perfectly well with all other boaters. We just have to wear a different uniform...

NOT AT ALL ...I have a 27 Grady White and a 34 Catalina ..I love both. We powerboat in the summer and sail in the winter
