Well! You must be wondering what a Middle Aged woman is doing subscribing to your channel. I have never done anything like this before, probably because I am too old. I came across your channel and just watched. The truth is that I experienced all the things you spoke about and more. I left Nigeria in 1984 to live in the UK when I was 15. I also went though hardship and had to live on £10 a month. It was worse then because I was in the north of England and there were no African stores. I am super impressed with your honesty and telling it as it is. Also paying attention to detail in your researches is truly admirable. It can be challenging but you overcame! You are obviously a very smart girl and I am sure you will do well in whatever you choose to do! I hope Nigeria treats you well. I am listening to my friends who have told me that I won’t be able to make it in Nigeria. All the best and I will keep watching!
Nothing worth having is easy. Now you may understand why academic qualifications from the UK are so highly rated. The whole point of reading is to gain a full understanding of your subjects of study. Having done that you have to be able to demonstrate that. That is why we come down so hard on plagiarism. However you would be expected to reference what you have read and you must to be able to speak to it.
I literally smiled when you candidly said that these lecturers will be interested in my growth. Nothing's been so invigorating than hearing that someone would be interested in my growth! Thank you, I can't wait to go through this hurdle, I will be attending the University of Bolton this September for my MSc in Mechanical Engineering. I graduated from FUTO and we literally didn't learn from any class but on our very own; reading day and night!
When I was at college , my tutor told me that my work was both original and good. Sadly , the good parts were not original and the original parts were not good.
OMG I laughed throughout this video😂 love your sense of humor. I’ll be starting my post graduate studies in January. I schooled in Covenant University for my undergrad, and yes they had the plagiarism checker.
You are doing the right thing to educate your people. I have been to many African countries for evangelical work. They are good to work with. I have subscribe.
Same here ooo. Copy & paste is forbidden hahahah. Some people doing PhD in Nigeria self is copy and paste. Here also in Malaysia, many of the Nigerians find it difficult.... some faculties accept 10-15% similarity only. Work must be original, I think Malaysia is following the UK educational standard. Keep it up girl.
Thanks for your video, I would like to study in UK, but I didn´t know how could be in the real life ¡ further I realized I have to get a excellent level of englis for writting a essay.
You can't plagiarize in University of Benin masters degree program also. They have a software that check your thesis writeup for plagiarism. You won't be cleared unless the level of plagiarism is below 20%
Hi Chidera, I'm just seeing this video and I graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University. I really don't know about other lecturers in the school but my project supervisor had the plagiarism software. Thank you for your videos. They're really educative and informative. ❤️❤️❤️
During my Masters in Public health in Unilag, the department of community health and primary care at the college of medicine do not condone plagiarism. We students keep getting warnings from our lecturers and the consequence can be failing your project.
Been here for a month from Ghana and I find it so funny because she is sooooooo right!! I'm laughing! Herh! You will read! You will read ankasa!!! Eeeei! Hmmm!!!
I like your personality miss Chidera Peters..wahhh i thought it was easy..do they need a very intelligent international student just to study there??oh it is that difficult??
I can only imagine that all amount of reading, but I didn't read at all. Well my first year writing was only 2000 word on assigments. No exams at all. Now I'm gonna have second bachelor degree.
I am India in my undergrad we had to do independent study!! I have been there !! It was terrifying at first but!! I am in a much better place now!! By the way!! You are gorgeous!!😁
Pan Atlantic University in Lagos carries Plagiarism on their head. A number of people were expelled for plagiarizing on assignments while I was still there.
For my final year poject, they used a plagiarism checker..Turnitin to be precise. It's University of Lagos by the way. And it was hella stressful honestly
Same as my school University of Ibadan particularly my department (Industrial and Production Engineering), They were so strict such that your similarity index must not exceed 25% for my final year project .. Our term papers and assignments were not left out . The peak of the matter was that if the lecturer in charge of the course or your supervisor is tech Davy then your similarity index should not exceed 15% The funniest part was that the plagiarism tool deployed by the university system is TURNITIN (the algorithm are to the extreme) I’m grateful to God for this training but it wasn’t easy then
Wow! There again... Am more of a tactile learner... I discovered at the end of my undergraduate studies. Struggled alot as a result... I would have a problem with doing all of the things I said on my own. It takes alot of work to sit through an hour lecture... Could u suggest ways I could get to not struggle with studying
Easy!! Take notes while you learn. Create process diagrams also… helps you stay busy focused and interested in what you are learning. I am the same way and that’s what helps me.☺️
You could also try making a habit of daily going to the library. At first, it will seem unproductive, but with time you'll find yourself really enjoying it, and achieving a whole lot! 😊
Childera, do you know FUT Minna uses turnitin on students final projects to check plagiarism and acceptable level was 15%? I used it for my thesis while doing my master degree there and I got really better writing things on my own so I really don't think that should be a big issue for me except for the standard. Please how much do you know about university of essex? By God's grace, I'll be studying there soon. Your videos are really helping me a lot. Thanks
Hi dear, this video is really helpful cause I thought studying at the United States is just some chill way but wow!I never thought of this things you've said. My question is; I'm a student of English language right here in Kwasu ( Kwara State University) Nigeria and I wish to go for an airline course in UK as my master's degree I hope this can work out,can it??
please what is this plagiarism software biko. @Chidera, i am glued to your channel. i watch it practically everyday. how did i not know about this channel (just got to know a few weeks ago)? see, i am in love (i am hooked). abeg well done nne. please the software again make we try download am (if downloadable)
Please chidera, you have really emphasized more on reading reading & reading and other personal research about your course of study. You did not say anything about mathematics and other related calculation courses. Is there any course that you would study without mathematics and calculation courses?
There’s no course like that. Expect you’re studying a language course like English, linguistics or literature. Other than that there’s an element of mathematics in every course
Undergrad is harder for some reasons now imagine having financial issues and some racist lecturers that was me, it scarred me men. I know people my age that didn’t get their degree and had to do find a way to stay.
