This is good advice for prospective students, however, i think the experience is subjective. I worked and was able to support myself throughout, also i was able to secure scholarship for PhD after that and also got a permanent job as a lecturer. Of course, it is not easy, things are hard but you proper guidance to make the most of your stay. You have to be strategic even the course you will select is important in this area, i support students in this area to help students make the most of the time here. I share these information on my channel as well.
Hello, can I get your email address please

What type of job did you get in order to support yourself?
Your submission seems Contradictory...
Also start applying for jobs early. If you are looking for a job for the following year start applying in May/June of the previous year, finding a job is tough. For people that are looking for part time jobs it’s also not always easy I was there for 6 months and didn’t get anything. My friends have been applying for a year and also we’re not successful so keep that in mind
My 2 cents to this before I left Nigeria to the UK this was what I did. I used my basic economic knowledge to analyze the economy of the states I was interested in. I checked the unemployment rate, the per capital income(how much does an individual worth), cost of living, population, industry rates etc. This informed my decisions and I chose Birmingham. Also check the instalmental policy of your school should you want to follow that route. Does the school require you pay 50% before you can start instalmental payments? Etc. Draft your monthly budget and do most of your cooking yourself. Buying food outside wont save you money.
Wow..!!!! How can I text you so you can tell me more about this 🙏🙏
Hello Ayodele. My name is Kennedy.
Can we talk privily?
That's good content, however students need to be careful. The intention of this Graduate route (2 year visa after under/grad studies or 3 years after PhD) is for the applicant to find a job in their field, not to be in a barber shop doing haircuts. I understood the point of the example in the video, but remember that this visa is not renewable and the professional experience in the UK is key to find a job that provides a Skilled Worker Visa before the post-study Graduate visa expires. If you don't have any UK professional experience in these years after studies, the chances to be employed in your field before your visa expire decrease sharply. Also remember that after you finish uni, you will pay taxes, nothing will have a student discount anymore, etc., so probably you will earn more money but will also have more expenses.
I speak from my personal experience.
If I get a job outside my field after my masters can I stay back in the uk?
@@rotimidada2619 You can have any job after your masters under the Graduate route.
M.k,please just wanna ask, even if I get a job and after the 2 years expires does it mean i have to leave the uk even with a job at hand?
@@rotimidada2619 you would need to find a job that provides you sponsorship for a Skilled Worker visa before your Graduate permission expires
Thanks M.K your advice is invaluable
Words on marble!!! Thanks Chi, God bless you🥰💯
Chidera, you’re feeling nostalgic. You said, “when you come here”. Your videos are spot on and I’m glad I found you at the right time! Real helpful.

Great video Chidera...your advise to start thinking of the end is golden. The clock literally starts ticking before you land in the UK. If you started thinking of skills that could provide good income, you'll learn those skills before leaving home. Same applies on the professional front. Are there any professional certificates you have already or experience that you can use in boosting your chances of getting a job. Look on LinkedIn at CVs and profiles of those in similar roles that your course could lead to. What certifications or relevant do they have that you can get prior to you leaving your country? It might be much cheaper doing those courses from your home country.
Thank you ❤️
This is exactly what I have been talking to people about all year. These are great points. It is easy to underrate things and not think ahead and anticipate obstacles...
This great advice for international students. Thanks for caring to share.
Mhen God bless my parent who forced me to learn barbing before i travelled
This is what am thinking. How do I go about it
Everything no be japa. Proper planning is needed 💯
Great information! I’m glad I’ve deferred to get more funding in store for my studies. I feel like I can use the year to prepare better with this kind of information. Thanks sis.
You are right!
Wow, girl! This has been the best video I’ve ever watched! Thanks for your tips… love your energy! ⚡️❤️😊
Very informative video, you really put your heart out for helping international students! Thankyou Chidera!
Love from India!
The hairdressing part and the sociology part is it for me. Thanks Dera for this valued information. So timely.
Everything she said is true. I'm here and I know how hard it is to get a job especially in these unprecedented Covid times, even part time jobs are a bit difficult to get. God help you all.

It’s your consistency for me💕💕💕💕
Your videos have been very helpful, thanks!
If you going to UK, Please remember its a tuff ground means, you must have solid skills that are in high demand in the UK.
If you are the kind of person that thinks " Well we will see, all I need to do is get to the UK ". I guarantee you, you will not make it.
Chidera you are 100% right.
Good advice there .I wish I had watched this video before coming to the UK. Really coming here with the mind set that you will work and pay your fees is a scam. It's not easy at all. You will end up just working more than the required hours to work as a student and not have time to study.
Pls I'll really like you to tell me more if you wouldn't mind pls? Cos I intend coming very soon for study/work.
The video is helpful Chidera, thank you.
Informative and educative.
Thumbs up
We the Ogees! The real MVPs. But really Chidera has said it all. You see that money part ehhhnnn. Let's loud it.

Thank you for the info. You have made this journey a lot easier.
Thanks ! This was pretty motivational. I actually checked out the shortage occupation list in the UK before considering to study there. But i double checked when you say it. I hope I can find a job after graduation. Because even though i want to start my own business, I'd like to work there for a couple years. Wish everyone the best of luck !
Thanks for sharing, my lady

I currently studying in the UK for my master's, I'll soon be done. I always tell people with 20hours a week you can't pay your fees. My fee is over £20,000 I can't pay for it. Thank God for my Dad.. Hi chidera. Nice video you have here. I took my time to watch and read all comments and replies. I studied theatre arts and finished with a 2.1. I’ve work experiences as a retail person and currently own my business. I am thinking of studying business management or marketing. What are my chances of getting a job and sponsorship after my psv?
Thanks for this video dear. You re wonderful 🥰
Thank you for this, Chidera. That is exactly what I have been saying here for months. Why coming to an intolerant country like UK and pay £13000+ per year for a useless course that doesn't guarantee you a job and permanent residence? You can easily go to Countries like Sweden, Norway, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Iceland etc and pay NO tuition fees with a very good chance of securing their citizenship. All that is expected of you is to learn their language and you can easily do that if you are intelligent and motivated, if people are as they claimed to be..
Thanks for showing up Mr B ❤️
@@ChideraPeters keep up the good work. Much Love.
So apt
I’ve been saying this thing, people just keep looking for places with big names and no substance. No be by Uk or us . How much opportunities are there and how easy is it to integrate
Hi Mr B.
I am looking at this countries you mentioned but I'm still trying to navigate my way to getting an admission. Can you please send your email address so I could contact you.
Can an international student work as an influencer while working 20 hours a week and as a web developer, hair stylist and Mua🥲(self employed though)? Although I know it isn’t allowed according to their website is it possible?
Whaooo....I learnt alot from all you said. Thank you
A very nice advise 👍👌

Very good advice
Hi chidera, nice content please which university is recommended for an average Nigerian with good payment plan please.
Chidera what of human resource management?
Is it a good option?
Thanks for this video Chidera. Hopefully you get to see my comment and respond. I am planning towards Sept. 2022 (Masters) and i intend to come with my spouse. What are the chances of getting a job particularly in UI/UX (Product design) in the UK after my studies. Are the chances bright before i go ahead and pour unnecessary money into this
lovely video...did you decide to leave the UK?
Hey Chidera, can you please do a video on loans accessible to Nigerian students in the UK, thanks
Hi Chi,
1. Though my Course/Career (Automation Control and Robotics) is in Shortage skills Occupation List, what is probability of employer issuing Certificate of Sponsorship if employed? 2. Any International Student Loan options available in the UK?
Thank you so much for this.
That's what most people don't know.... Spend your money wisely.... Do not do one funny course in the UK and expect jobs. They are happy taking your money and kicking u out. Some courses are only good for post study academic jobs.... Apart from that.... Working with a degree like sociology in the job market will be very hard to come by. And one more thing... It's not a must u must stay in the UK... Apply to the USA and other countries for funded opportunities b4 u graduate
Thanks for this
Then what about psychology? a serious field in it
Thanks Chi chi. Your a darling ❤️❤️
Chidera I have a quick question.. When you become self employed does that automatically keeps one in the UK? If not what does one have to do?
Oh no not at all. If you’re a student and have finished your studies, you apply for the Post Study Work visa which gives you more time to look for a permanent job but in the mean time, you can work any where without needing an actual work permit. I’d advice, using the time wisely to get a proper full time job that companies at the end of your post study work visa, will be willing to sponsor you for a full work permit.
You can’t automatically stay in the UK when you become self employed. Good luck
You can get another visa route for employees but you must have 50k pounds in your account before you can apply.
@@ayodelealademehin9249 That’s the investor route is it?
It is a welcome advice to us all
Please dear, I studied Urban and regional planning here in Nigeria and I want to go there for post graduate studies because I have HND. Please which course do u think is good enough in for. Am planning environmental management
This is good advice.
Thank you Dear, God bless!
Bless you Chidera
Well done Chidera. Your tips are fantastic. We find that a lot of international students want to stay after their studies and now that the UK has reintroduced the Post Study Work visa, this enables them to stay in the UK for a further number of years depending on their degree level. This should enable students stay in the UK however, we also find that companies are happy to employ them up until the end of their visa. Some very lucky ones end up having their company assist them in applying for a Work Permit which requires a large fee the company is willing to pay to sponsor them. The not so lucky ones reach a dead end again and if they have no other routes to stay, they must return sadly. Hopefully, the new immigration system since Brexit is a bit more open to the rest of the world in terms of skilled workers coming in.
Apart from securing a Job, what are other routes in staying back in the UK after the expiration of your post study work visa please
@@jeremiefred1221 Several routes are available depending on your situation. Some example routes are Family, Study, Work, Business, Investor. This list is not exhaustive
@@ThePushUKLifestyle thanks so much for your response.
@@jeremiefred1221 Hey ya, not a problem 😀
