    Brendan, good video. You just showed new to gasoline engines the proper setup for installing a trouble free power setup. I might give a heads up to those tanks that are opaque.
    It’s easy to install them upside down. And if there round tanks they do like to rotate.
    PS, love flying formation with you at Pegasus! Remember next month is PGRC. A few of us will be arriving on Wednesday. NWR ( C/S ) KRAFTY.

    The corrosive energy of vaporized fuel is greater than liquid, if you leave the tank completely filled there is less damage done to lines. Even with an absorbant fuel filter on the fill line, to suck up the maximum amount of fuel, fuel and the smell remains it's vapor does the damage. Many clear tanks have a carb line stiffener to prevent line from flexing, Completely agree with clear tanks over opaque. Like the heat shrink, I've used a dab of foam-tac around the cap as well as all connections into receiver, and permanent servo lead connections. Had a friend who put a porous fuel filter on vent line to filtet the air going to tank, hobby has never addressed air debris from the plane, the field and some tank material break down, never seen an carb air filter.

    You do not use silicon fuel line with petrol/gas it will almost dissolve it and the silicon will run through the carb and make one big mess.

    What was the failure of the fuel tubing? I have been using polyurethane tubing for several years now and never have a problem. It doesn't get stiff like tygon and is pretty easy to find. There used to be a vendor at Top Gun every year and I would restock from him. Unfortunately he hasn't been there in years.

    • @JustPlaneCrazy
      @JustPlaneCrazy  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching and asking. The tubing all swelled and split. Even the stuff in the gas can. I assume it’s not as fuel and oil safe as they say. This brand anyway.

    I have a F.E.M.A kit on my saito 1.80 on a GP super stearman.
    I am confused on one thing.
    I have a servo that is actuating two switches. One for the starter motor and one for the glow system.
    But as the builder is not around anymore. I am of the understanding that the switch isnt good enough or even capable of making the voltage stepped down to make the glow plug, well glow.
    So what would i need?
    A separate glow system like i can find at any hobby shop?
    What about the motor? Is the switch good enough?

    • @JustPlaneCrazy

      You bet. The xt90 plugs, one has to be a battery in and the other is out to the starter motor. I believe it’s marked as so. If not let me know and I will take a look at mine for you. The smallest plug goes to an open receiver port. You set up that port as an on off configuration.

    As you were putting together zero with your EME starter you never did show how you hooked up your starter to your ignition to your relay to your battery or batteries you said that you were going to use that one battery for your ignition and your starter the question is that continuous power to keep your ignition going or does it hook up as to the power comes on only when you flip your starter switch from your receiver.

    • @JustPlaneCrazy
      @JustPlaneCrazy  Рік тому +1

      The starter…… runs from the starter motor to a relay. The power side of the relay is fed by a 3 cell battery. The relay is controlled by an open channel on the receiver.
      The ignition is powered through a kill switch from a redundant set of receiver batteries and controlled through an open port in the receiver.
      Hope that helps.
